Yeah same. I'm really nervous about going to BK. And I emailed them and the girl was very very vague with the information I wanted. Causing me to become discouraged in going there at all. Thinking that the translators are like that there. Are they? I'm so confused into which place I should go to get my Rhinoplasty and my chin done.

If you look in the old thread (the one that's too long and has been closed) there were forumers who used Zoe's service and they made comparisons (especially HKPhooey) who said she actually got cheaper quotes from ID by bringing Zoe along, vs another girl who didn't use translator.....this is just a reminder in case new forumers didn't see those posts.

Oh, remember when Shane77 was getting a two-jaw from ID? ID gave him by mistake, a quote of 26M won. When Zoe heard it, she was surprised and inquired further causing the quote to drop to just 18M won. And Shane77 wasn't even Zoe's client. Shane77 never disputed this fact that Zoe helped her, even though Shane77 wasn't on best terms with Zoe....so I took it as a true incident.

Also, no offense to you all, but if Zoe from your emails sense you are "high-maintenance" she'd rather do business with someone else. If I were in her shoes, I'd be happy to offer "extra" services such as post-op care, buying foods, etc for the patient, BUT only if I have time to do it and if I like the patient....see what I mean? I would not commit myself to do these "Extra" things upfront for my clients, because then, my clients will have HIGH expectations of me and when I don't deliver, they get upset/mad.
But if me, as Zoe, meets a client and finds my client to be very likable and I happen to have extra time, I'll do extra stuffs for her without being asked. And since the client isn't expecting great post-op care from her, the client will be pleasantly surprised when Zoe goes the extra mile for them.

Personally, I'd like myself to be known as a translator rather than a caretaker or nurse (excuse my language). If Zoe starts doing just the caretaker part, more and more clients will ask her for the same...she'll be just known as Caretaker, not a translator anymore...so it's understandable if she doesn't want it.

For me, Zoe's post-op care also delivered. I can't say what it is, if I say it, then everyone who hires Zoe will expect her to do the same thing. But she went above and beyond what was expected. My aunt asked me, "dear Lord, how much are you paying her now that she's done all these things for you?"

Having said all these, there was one thing I wished she could have been done better...so I'll give her 85 points out of 100.

pple often forget that the translators are not obliged to provide after-care services...
after all, their main job scope is jus to help with translations and arranging consultations...
they expect too much from them just becoz few forumers experience 'such said services'

oh well... i'm keeping all options open regardless anything...
i may end up not needing one depending on the clinic i may eventually go when time comes

i'm getting mixed reviews on it.

some docs said that zygoma reduction to reduce my cheeks will help to give me a nice oval face which currently i have a long face. but i have a small face already. should i do ?

which clinics is best in facial contouring, zygoma reduction or jaw surgery.
is View, BK and TLPS clinics good in these?

anyone going to korea next mar-april

More imptly is that we get to share information around... that's the spirit of having forum and this forum helped me a lot as a lot of forumers have been very kind with their updates and feedbacks on clinics and translators.

I have learned so much from all who have posted on this forum. I would not know how to start searching for info if it weren't for the people here willing to share their experiences.

Like I said earlier, contact all the translators and see which one works within ur schedule. If it weren't for this forum I wouldn't have had any links to any translators. I was lucky to have had to opportunity to come into contact w 2, both of whom helped me in my journey.

Updates: Day of Operation (Mini V-Line and Eye-Lid)

7:30am: Was at the hospital; my surgery was scheduled at 8am. I thought I was ready - I had mentally prepped myself. For those of you who are considering facial contouring, I would suggest reading and looking up pictures of Peggy Heng and likes who have done it. I was scared **** - but I tried to prepare myself mentally as much as possible. When I arrived at the hospital and changed into my hospital gown, I had a sudden panic attack because I saw three girls heavily bandaged in their face and lots of gauze and blood on them - and they were hooked up on IV. It looked like they were in a bad accident - my whole body became weak. I asked my translator if I was going to look like them post surgery - he was so nice, he just said "Everyone's case is different".
Then, I met with Dr. Park and Dr. Gim one last time to discuss about what I wanted adn what I didnt want. I think at that time, I was so nervous that I could hardly digest what was said. It's all a blur to me now. I did show Dr. Gim the eyes that I wanted adn he said he recommended me to do epi as well, otheriwse I may have 2 folds. I didnt want my eyes to look red for a few months so I skipped epi. At this time, I am not sure if I made the right decision - but I guess it's too late now and I will have to wait for the final results.

9:00am: I was put into GA and I blacked out. The next thing I knew, the nurses were violently shaking me to wake me up. [read up Bambii Namky's experience - mine was very similar with hers]. I was extremely cold when they woke me up and I was shivering - i thought I was going to die! My head was heavily bandaged up and my throat hurt so so SO bad!!!!!! I wanted to drink some water but they told me I could only drink after 6 hours. The next few hours were the worse ... One saving grace I had was the ability to breath. I am so thankful that I didnt get rhino the same time as mini v-line (again, thanks to other forumers here who had suggested this!). When I was in so much pain, and my face was having so much trauma, and i was questioning myself if I did the right thing... the least I could do for myself was to BREATH! It was very calming and very relaxing to hear your own breath. You are alive!!!!!!!

The next 6 hours were brutal, but I was very lucky to have Zoe and her assistant Tony with me. At this time, I was still not allowed to drink or sleep - so it was very tough. They were my support system, my friend and my strength at that time. While I couldnt speak, I wrote on a white board to communicate with them and to past time. For those of you considering facial countouring surgeries - my advice is 1) Please think properly if this is what you want - it is not a small surgery 2) Please do yourself a favour by bringing a friend/ a family or hire someone like Zoe.

The rest of the night was uneventful. I didnt sleep one bit. My face was getting heavily congested and I had developed a lot of mucus and phelgm. The phelgm was very very thick, and once it gets caught up in my throat, i will jump up of my bed because I was Suffocating and i had to quickly detach my ice packs from my face so that I could let the phelgm out. The after care at ID was very goodd - the nurses came to check on me every few hours. Folks - dont discount having good post op care - especially if you are doing a few surgeries at once.

The next day, I was discharged. THe nurses came and took me to do an X-ray. Dr. Park came to check on me again. The nurses gave me a big pack of medication, pillow, ice packs, etc so that I could go home. I was relieved the worst was over, and then its just recovery. Patience, patience, patience!!

From my understanding, 2 jaw is the best way to achieve results if you have a really bad jaw, IE protruding mouth/chin. If you're profile view looks fine then you probably won't need.

Two jaw is more like corrective jaw surgery, ie you're fixing you're underbite/overbite, Korea is making it a cosmetic thing, when it's really not.

hello, yeah i understand that. if im not mistaken, according to a few members on this forum, her reply was kinda rude. personally, i think its okay if my translator was too busy to provide "full service" but should at least be nice to everyone whether its his/her client or not.

No offence to you ya, but i think if she'd avoid high maintenance people by sensing through email or whatsoever then i guess her patience isnt that good after all. *note: ofcourse im not talking about clients who insist on full service. hehe =) for me, patience is very important as going through surgeries is already stressful. well its just me=p

well, what do i know=p..i've never had any experience with her before. again, my opinions are solely based on reviews.

I bet some other translator do get commissions too. Not all ofcourse. but bear in mind, translators that have "hidden charges" dont only liaise with 1 clinic but a lot more.

*If anyone who is reading this doesnt mind paying more, then sorry i've wasted your time for reading this post =p

oh yes and thanks to everyone who shared their good and bad experience with translators!=)

then as a client who's paying for translator and planning a surgery thousand miles away, gets moody too if he or she gets a rude reply.

yeah we wouldnt choose the one who has potential attitude problems would we?

but i must say, i'm not saying Z or any other translator is wrong. it depends on the situation, it could be that the client was rude in the first place too. who knows.=p

Yeah, the person emailing might have phrased their words in a way that sounded alittle demanding, but at the same time, since she's running a business it really is important to respond in a pleasant way. =/

Imagine if you're in pain with you face all bandaged up and they tell you they can't go buy you a drink because it's not part of their services. =( that would suck. Oh well, guess it's better to have a family member or friend there to help then.

I can send you my before and after pics but do me a favor, do reply w/ your thoughts. I sent my pics to some folks and never heard from them again hahaha.

I'm fluent in Korean so i didnt need a translator and plus my native Korean friend and my mom was w/ me. Also, my friend got her nose done at BK and I liked her outcome.

All this talk about translators... am I the only one who wants to know where they came from in the first place?
Zoe and Nicole kind of just popped up in purse forum one day, but I couldn't find a post explaining how people learned about their services in the first place. Website? Word of mouth?
Korea gets A LOT of tourism, especially for plastic surgery, so I'm confident there are many other available translators that probably offer great services for their clients as well... and *inner penny pincher speaking* maybe even at cheaper prices? I just feel a bit restricted having to choose from only 2 translators. So if anyone knows a website that lists different translators, or something of the sort that may help add to everyone's list of choices, please share. I've been trying to search for one such resource but I've had no luck.
