Do you have advice for me what to do and stuff?Whilst I have a whole list from the clnic on what to do after surgery, I still welcome any input! haha Currently im just restrict my diet, eat moderately 3 times (because i need to consume medicine) haha. Overall experience in korea been great , nicole is great too! so glad i have her T-T Yes, doctor will offer you more like the skin clinic, i merely wanted those simple things but gee they offer me a general solution of ulthera, luckily I decided not to do right away! Oh and my another friend just visited view clinic and she said its quite expensive hence she went to another alternatives. Website is there for the sole purpose of attracting customer, so obviously they only put the pretty+less pain looking ones. ( i noticed the healing diary of the patient is a bit unreal, no body looks that painless on few days after jaw, trust me she did jaw too and she didnt look like so!) marir Posted November 24, 2012 Share Posted November 24, 2012 My friend's surgeries from View turned out great and looks natural, including her nose... but yeah, I personally wouldn't go to View for rhinoplasty, because some of the noses on the website look a little fake. I think that the doctor who specializes in facial contouring surgery is more experienced than the doctor who performs nose surgeries. So I think that's why some of the girls look a little fake after; because of their nose. But in all honesty, I don't think a person should do nose and jaw surgery together anyway. So hypothetically speaking, if I did pick View, I'd probably only get facial contouring and fat graft done there, and go somewhere else for nose. Haha that would be awkward. I've actually played the same situation in my head, because I want to get quite a few surgeries done, including jaw surgey. I'm going for a dramatic change, but still natural. My nose looks alright, I just think my jaw needs to go pronto! Sigh, now I'm thinking of doing breast, jaw and cheek at the same time. It will be painful, but I know that 6 months later after all the pain and tears I'll look better so whatever! No pain, no gain. It would be terribly embarrassing to have to get out that letter from the clinic if the customs people do end up asking about things (since there's usually a huge line of people behind you and everything) eeeek.. I was like, how can that be? Ive read everyone on this forums experiences n it sounded no where near how this girl looked. O no! So views expensive. I was hoping it'd be affordable. So where did ur friend end up choosing? What type of surgery is she planning on getting? In regards to my liposuction, my situation is totally different from urs cuz I had 2 babies, am in my 30s, n probably not extremely diligent as u will be in post care, plus maybe liposuction is better done in Korea. That being said, I do luv my PS here. He told me that in case there was unevenness, he wd fix it for free. Well at 8 months there was some. I'm not sure if I massaged the area well enough like i was told and if I wore my compression garment correctly. So just make sure u follow their advice as good as they say. One thing I also noticed was u know how they say u will gain weight in other areas that u normally never gained weight in, its true. I always gained my weight in my lower belly and never my legs, but since liposuction sucked the fat cells from my belly, I guess the fat now goes to my thighs and calves fat cells. I mean this wudnt be a big deal if I would just get off my butt n exercise a bit. Its not a huge difference, but all my years prior, I have never gained weight in my legs, but now there is some meat to them. Yay! I'm glad this ps journey is almost over for u. ritchallthetime Posted November 24, 2012 Share Posted November 24, 2012 Was gonna say the same as Marir, just cos an actor or singer is pictured at the clinic or has sent some kind of thank you letter doesn't mean they've had plastic surgery, a lot of clinics run skin clinics and beauty treatments as well. They don't get flawless skin by doing nothing you know! I'm actually quite liking View's B&A's. Being a guy, its hard finding any B&A's to compare with but one of View's i thought they did an amazing job on the guy. @Crystallinesnow, not sure why the website wasn't working for you, appears to be fine on mine. marir Posted November 24, 2012 Share Posted November 24, 2012 Hey, she briefly told me the cost of everything when I met her a week ago, but I didn't really pay attention, and I can't remember the individual procedure prices at the top of my head. I'll be sure to ask her again though, and I'll let you know the specifics then. She consulted with a total of five clinics in a span of two days though, and ID was one of them. But she ended up deciding against them because when her host spoke with one of the girls in the waiting room (she had a noticeably unnatural jawline), he said that she was getting a revision because the ID doctor who did her 2-jaw and v-line messed up her face. She said she would have picked a different clinic for revision, but the doctor at ID insisted that he would be the best choice for revision since he was the one who did the job in the first place. The girl did say that Dr. Park Sanghoon is a very kind doctor, and my friend reiterated the same thing after her consultation. But she couldn't get the girl's jawline out of her head, and she didn't want to risk having to do revision, so she decided against ID. But breast, jaw and cheek at the same time? You are a trooper. I haven't seen very many reviews on PF about breast augmentation... do you know how painful the experience is compared to other surgeries? That would be really embarrassing though lol. But I'll be sure to ask her for specifics soon, and I'll let you know then. But yes, she's pretty happy with all of her surgeries, including her eyes. The only thing she disliked was the fact that her transformation was really dramatic. For example, she had a monolid before and her eyes were small and slanted (kind of like Son Ga In), but now they're rather big and round. After looking at some former patients who went there who posted pictures and looking through ID's noses before and afters...I'm turned off (no offense to those who got their nose jobs there. Just not my personal taste of what I will want my nose to look like). So yeah, I crossed them off my list. Thanks so much for your sharing your experience and saving me from going into a failed PS. I'm terribly sorry about what happened I am now looking into other clinics for facial contorting that wasn't widely mentioned in this forum like JW and Woojin ( know one of the forumer's...angel? went there. I wonder how everything turned out for her...). I looked at VIEW's...no offense to those who like it...but their chin's after V-line look super fake and too pointy. When I looked over some of the messages I got from locals, I noticed a few good B&A's came from Wonjin, but I'm just weary about the place because I've read some pretty bad reviews. Do you know JW's website though? I've seen that name pop up a couple of times on PF, and I want to look into it as well. And about View, I actually agree with you. I've seen a lot of the pointy chins, which I do think look a bit fake. But I'm not too turned off by it, because super small faces and intense v-lines are considered beautiful in Korea, so it makes sense that they showcase a lot of those cases on their site, and other sites as well. You'll find similar v-line pictures in a popular clinic such as Small Face, because that's the kind of look a lot of Koreans like. Just take a look at ulzzangs for example. 100% of the ones I've seen all have intense v-lines I find very very unnatural/alien-looking, but Koreans still dub them "best face" lol. Anyway, the point is that if a doctor can take off that much of a person's jaw, then they're most definitely capable of taking off less. So you just have to clearly communicate that with them, as they're used to girls coming in asking for the smallest face possible, or the v-est v-line possible. I actually remember reading an online consultation on Small Face, asking why all of the girls on the site have such intense v-lines, and the consultant answered that they asked for it, but the doctors are capable of much natural results if you just ask. I think this is the case for View as well, because my friend came into her consultation with a picture of Gemma Ward, asking to look like her. But she also said that above all, looking natural was her #1 priority, even if it meant a smaller nose bridge, or smaller eyes, or less angled v-line. Now, I can tell she had surgery done because I've seen the transformation, but for a stranger passing her by on a road, they'd think she was natural. So if you let the doctor know that your beauty standard is different than the one he's used to 'creating,' I think you'll be more likely to get the result the result you want. Sure thing. I'm happy for her too. And I hope my experience in Korea is as nice as her's. I'd love to have a housemate that'd volunteer to be my translator lol. EDIT: Someone sent me a message, kindly asking if I worked for View, and I would just like to say that I am NOT promoting View, nor am I recommending them. If I was working for View, I would not have said that I wouldn't get my nose done there. I'm simply sharing my friend's positive experience with them. However, I'm happy with my eyes and think though I don't have the pointest nose, it look alright. I don't really want a very sharp chin anyway, I would love a soft oval jawline with a smaller chin. Cos frankly I reckon thin oval shaped faces look most flattering and look good with any hairstyle. So I'm thinking that view might be my top choice maybe... Still doing to try ID out. I arrived just a few days ago and planned for all my consultations to be in one day. Before my trip I had short listed regen, teuim, and dream. The first clinic I went to was dream. The front of the clinic is very small, and the day I went it was filled with girls waiting. I noticed they had all bandaged noses, about 8 girls, one in particular looked very young, no older than 16 and was with her mom. I met with the shil-jang-neem (manager) and showed her a picture of what I wanted my eyes to look like. She took a thin metal pick and started to get a better idea of my eyelid. She said that what I wanted was not possible and said that most other doctors would agree. I felt very discouraged and sad at the news. I had flown all this way and to hear that it woulnt be possible.... So I went to the next clinic, Regen. It is a very nice clinic with advertisements as soon as you enter. It is much larger than Dream and played very nice music. The workers though, in my opinion were my very attractive at all. Not to be judgmental, but I would think workers at a plastic surgery clinic would be more plastic looking. I met again with the main consultant and showed her the picture. She took much longer and said that what I wanted wouldn't be possible, but there would be other options. We spent a while looking at different options and she suggested to have incision technique and also cut the inner and outer corners of my eyes (because I have a Mongolian fold). She also suggested that I be put to sleep. This bothered me a tad as I wasn't expecting to be put asleep because I had a not so great experience with anesthesia when doing my breast augmentation. Also, I don't think a small surgery like double eyelid surgery should required being put to sleep. After some time, I met with the specialist and he had a look at my eyes. He took a while using the metal device to see what my eyelids look like and what suggestions he had. I did like his suggestions and was willing to I thru with the surgery. I met again with the consultant and she said that I would need a day to prep for the surgery, as in no eating the day before and also no liquids and what not. A part of me felt not 100% sure because it still bothered me that I would have to be put to sleep. I asked if I could have a day to think about it, and she said that because the schedule is quite full, that if I wanted to save the time slot, I would have to pay a deposit. I didn't like this idea as I still had another clinic to go to. She was very insistent that I pay a 10% deposit. My total had come to 2500 usd, which was quite a bit more than I wanted to spend. I told I would let her know in an hours time because I just didnt feel completely sold. So I left. The next clinic was Teium. This clinic is very clean and welcoming. There is complimentary tea and coffee in the waiting room and also 2 computers as well. I signed my papers and met with the dr right away. The dr mumbled the whole time so it was really hard or me to understand what he was saying. He had suggested suture method and also tighten my eyelid muscles so that when I open my eyes they would be opened up much stronger. He also suggested cutting on both the inner and outer corner. He was quite persuasive I must say, as he made me want to get suture method because he said it would take less time to heal. So I met with the consultant, who in my opinion was the prettiest out of all the clinics. We bargained but the price had come up to $2600 usd. I probably would've gone with this clinic if it had not been so Expensive. This to me wasn't worth it, especially for a method that has a chance of coming undone. I know people who have had suture technique and it had come undone so they had to get it redone. It's not the fact of having to redo it that bothered me, but more the fact that it is so difficult for me to put time and money aside to fly to Korea and find a place to stay! I told them I would think about it and left. I felt really discouraged and lost a lot of hope. Before my trip I was so excited and now I was beyond depressed. My top 3 clinics had failed me! So I called oz clinic. I had originally short listed oz but then changed my mind and wasn't going to visit them.... But I decided at this point I had nothing to lose. I made an appointment for oz later that evening. Oz clinic was a 5 minute cab ride away from all the other clinics in Apgujeong. It was hard to find as it is only 1 floor in a building that also has other plastic surgery clinics. I went in and it was quite small and only one worker in the front, versus 3-4 at the others. I met with the dr right away and told him what I wanted. He wasn't as talkative as I expected but he was very straight forward. He told me I would need partial incision and inner corner cutting. I asked him about the other methods the diff drs had mentioned and he sai I didn't need it. He understands the difficulty for me to come to Korea and suggested I get a more permanent approach. He also said that if anything happens, revision would be free of charge. I thought it was a bit wierd that he didnt really explain much, but I aske him the price and he quoted me 1650 usd. I wasn't 100% sold on him but the fact that he was willing to give me exactly what I wanted at a reasonable cost appealed to me. So I made an appointment for surgery the following day. That night I had a lot of doubt and unease. Did I make the right decision? There are 100's upon 100's of other plastic surgery clinics... I couldn't help but wonder if I should Atleast go to a few more before going thru with my surgery. Then I kind of panicked... I began frantically looking at other clinics that I had remembered reading in the forum. I looked up JW, mega, and a few other clinics. That morning I had made a Botox appointment at a clinic in Apgujeong, so I figured if I had time I would stop by another clinic. The dermatologist was so nice and seemed so professional so I asked him if he knew of good plastic surgery clinics BC I was so at unease about my experience. He explained to me that plastic surgeons are like artists. Their interpretations of beauty are all different. He said that no matter where I choose, I should be given a face to face consultation and be able to fully express my concerns. There are a lot of clinics that treat people like robots and basically try to do as many surgeries as possible for financial benefit. He said that we should be treated as people and not dollar signs as many clinics may see us. This is our bodies and faces after all! And we are all uniquely different! The best way for us to find a dr is by askin for before and after photos... And asking to see pictures of people who have done the same procedures as us or have similar characteristics. Because the drs have different views, we want to ensure that there isn't any misunderstandings and that we are on the same page with them about what kind of an outcome we want. I had slight doubt with oz... But also felt that because he does deal with a lot of foreigners, he would understand the look I am going for as I don't think the typical Korean style look would suit me. So I arrive at oz, ready for my surgery. The front desk worker was very nice and put me at ease and prepped me for the surgery. I was very nervous but she said it would be okay. I took before pictures and sat in the chair. I'm not going to lie... The anesthesia injections hurt quite a bit. The surgery itself went fine but near the end, I thinn some of the anesthesia wore off and I felt some of the sewing on my left eye. What I absolutely love about oz, was the fact that the front desk lady sat beside me and held my hand the complete surgery. Even tho I don't know her, having that support was absolutely amazing. She held my hand and massaged my arm from time to time. This was probably what made the surgery much more comfortable. Words can't explain how appreciative I am of her! The surgery itself was only 40 minutes but I spent 20 mins in the recovery room with an ice pack on my eyes. I walked by a mirror and took a quick glance at myself. I was a bit mortified... I was scared my eyes looked too close together because of the cutting of inner corner, and my eyes were blowfish like swollen! I have never felt so ugly in my life! I tried not to freak out tho as I know the swelling would go down. I had prepared a hat and sunglasses to wear once I left Because of the ice pack, my vision was very blurry and it was hard to make out numbers and words on the subway. Luckily my mom was with me the whole time so I held onto her. I highly suggest not being alone after surgery as you might feel a bit vulnerable. The surgery wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and I just took 1 pain killer that night. Tomorrow I am going back to oz to checkup... It will be day 2 of post op. my eyes are even more swollen than yesterday and have developed some bruising. I can't wait for the bruising to go down and see what the outcome is! Good luck to everyone who will be getting surgery in the near future! I highly suggest taking your time with the consults and ensuring that you feel 100% confident with te dr.
