If your mom plans on having a canthoplasty, I think that laterals would benefit her more than an epi. But then again, that would depend on the doctor performing the procedure. I learned from my online consultation with Nicole at Pitangui that there are two styles of an epi - either a 90 or 45 degree approach. It would all depend on the "red" part of your eyes. Doing a simple vertical epi (90 degrees) would increase the red spots and would make it more unnatural. After sending in my pic, I asked which op I'd benefit more from. She said that she consulted Dr. Yoo and relayed the info to me. My eyes aren't that big but I asked about how far the epi would be performed. I thought that a increasing the height of my nose bridge would balance out the space in between my eyes, but she informed me that this isn't the way it worked. Alhtough my nose will need to be restructured to have a more "attractive" look, she said that it didn't have anything to do with my epi and that this is just a common misconception.

Hi taeyang

Umm actually, you can scroll back and check her blog as she mentioned everything of her rhinoplasty.
So far I know, her first surgeon was Dr.Martin from Singapore and she's got her implant crooked by kissing with her bf or smth. And it's still a bit bulbous so she did second time and looks like that. But yeah agree with you that she photoshopped that a lil bit, as I have seen her real face on YouTube which is beautiful but not that Barbie type
Sigh, I hate to get implants but so far they are the best in giving results what you want

hi guys, can you imagine I went to a porridge shop to order some food, and thankfully there was a local korean lady there who could speak some English as the shop auntie does't

It's obvious I just had PS, and so did she (her nose was bandaged and she was'nt even shy about it.

So we chatted for a while (where I came from vice versa) before she told me about her PS story - She did a nose implant with silicon 3 years ago, and just recently, the silion came out through her flesh!!!

Omygosh! She was sharing with me because she thought I did a nose implant as well, but I explained that I only had tiplasty only, no silicone! AND THANK GOD I was firm about no implant!

Her story really freaked me out a little, and I feel so assured and blessed that I knew I wanted no implant.

For those people who are planning to get implant, please do reconsider again ok. It may look nice for now, but there are too many implications involved and in this forum itself, you have seen so many people going for nose re-surgery.

Then I went on to ask if she knew GRAND clinic, and she actually said "yea, it's a very big place. And I heard that it's good."

I was very happy to hear that too! Cause looking at my swelling and probably a chin I might not like (hopefully it's just the swelling), I exactly needed a kind of affirmation from people I can trust, who is none other than the locals.

It's day 4, and my swelling seems worse. But my host did say that I speak alot better than yesterday! And they had been so kind! The lady host actually cooked steam egg and handmade pumpkin juice using a whole pumpkin! (and the milk I bought)! Really thank God for letting me meet all these wonderful people!

Went out and walk the whole of apgujeong area (saw where highland hotel, and all the clinics are finally) and be planning to tackle Seoul soon! Probably after my stiches are taken out as I wanna eat Seoul FOOD!

I'll be meeting one of the forumers who is here in Korea also (Eeva) and be bringing her to the porridge shop for our meal. It was a blessing to be able to constantly chat with here as well! Anyway here who wanna meet up too?

As a reminder for myself, be changing my avatar from lovely Yoona to Kim Dong Wan, which I showed the doctor is the ideal face shape that I wanted! Actually I showed Grand's consultant 2 guys, and she said Kim Dong Wan's profile can be acheved on my face, thus I used it. Another consultatnt told me doc brought the photo into surgery room. Hope it is true and I can achieve the result! Oh God, let it come true...

Glad to hear you eating porridge already, I was going to suggest a porridge house opposite ID Hospital as I went there when I still had stitches in my mouth. I took protein powder with me to make up as a milkshake and that really helped me as you need to eat the right food so your body has the energy to repair itself, that's why you always feel drained after surgery not just the GA but your body is using every bit of energy to try heal itself.

Around day 3 or 4 I started to eat bananas, I made sure I got the ripe ones so I could mush it up in my mouth then swallow so no chewing! Also you can buy packet soups from the shops but you are lucky you are living with a host that is cooking for you!

I am still a little worried about your chin, can I ask did you tell them you wanted Genioplasty or did the doctor not suggest you have that?

The decrease of your swelling may not be obvious in the mirror but you will find your flesh will slowly be more supple so less hard and easier to speak, smile and eat so give it more time before you look different in the mirror. Tomorrow you will probably see more brusing on your cheeks and neck, don't worry about it, it's natural to get bruising later.

Be careful to not eat spicy food and seafood, this can cause infection. Also don't drink too much milk as milk has lactose and this will give you more phlegm and mucus restricting your breathing. I did not eat solid food for 2 weeks as I was scared that food would get in under my stitching and cause infection, I made sure I rinsed my mouth all the time too. Don't miss your tablets you are given they are very important and never take them on an empty stomach it will freak you out like it did me ha ha!!

If you have any questions, just ask, I am happy to help anyone.

HKP

Jk told me mandible jaw surgery is fine and quoted me in usd with eyelid surgery mearly 10k usd.
Jw quoted me the following

1) eyes : double eyelid non-incision method : it is 1.4 million korean won + 10% tax : 1.54 million korean won

2) facial bone surgery :

-zygoma (6.0million korean won) + front jaw T-surgery (7.2) + square jaw (6.0) = 19.20 million korean won + 10% tax = 21.12 million korean won -> 21.12 million korean won

Hi, your jaw surgery sounds way too much! Are you paying in cash? If not when you reach there, do bargain it down. Mine as also reduced quite drastically after I bargained.

From what I understand from GRAND (where I just went for my surgery), I asked why did they charged tax for my nose surgery when my jaw and chin surgery wasn't charged, and they explained something like it's a government regulation and that only nose will be charged. (somewhere down that line cuz I wasn't paying attention. Was counting money in my head. LOLZ)
So you might wanna check why they charge taxes for your jaw (for eyes i'm not sure as the doc and consultant said my eyes are fine so I didn't do anything)

My zygoma + front T-jaw + square jaw (the latter 2 forming what they call vline surgery) cost me about 10 million. I believe many other clinics which others have consulted charge about there too (VIEW quoted me this price as well but I know I can haggle off more if I wanted to)

WOW! HKP! I think you can read minds! You know what, I was thinking my healing is not as fast because I'm lacking in protein! The past few days of eating plain congee and instant porridge made me realized hat after I analyzed what does a body needs when healing. Calcium and protein!
Thus I just went out to get a tray of eggs and 2 cartons of milk!
And I've already finished one of the milk! Ops! Talking about too late for something. LOLZ... I was worried about lactose as well but could't read korean words so just got some first to settle the protein issue.
And I did ask the consultant i I could eat bananas for the first few days, but she said no. I guess she guestured that it's too sticky or something and will pose a risk, but I didn't bother to ask since I'm fine with no bananas.

As for genioplasty, they doctor didn't mention it to me. I told him that I feel my chin is protruding out too much when I smile. He looked at my bone structure and said that "it's ok, nothing is wrong. It's just that you have too much muscle and flesh in your chin, and you tend to tilt your head up."
Then I smile and showed him what I mean, and he adjusted the CT scan to show the flesh parts as well and said that they's nothing he can do about it. He went on to mention that he will try to make my chin smaller by doing T cut, and the excess flesh after taking out the bone will have to be pulled to the front and stuck unto the front of the chin. I think this is where the miscomm comes in as I told him that by doing that, wouldn't the protruding chin issue be worse? And I straight away told him I didn't want that!
Somehow, we were carried off into another conversation, and I'm worried that he missed what I said and did what he wanted! SIGH!!!

That is that, and if after making my chin smaller but the protusion remains the same, I'm ok, but I will be upset if he knows I wanted a less protruding chin and yet made it protrude out more.:sad::sad:

I'll see how it goes than when the swelling decreases. I do trust his expertise that he wouldn't give someone an egyptian king look, and he DID took the photo of the star with the idea face shape that I wanted. (now that I talk about this, I think the doc and I ended the chin issue with me saying in a minor pleading manner, "ok, just make me look something like him please? (see my avatar)" HAHAHA...

I took off my bandages to brush my teeth (albeit very hard) and have successfully put on my upper teeth retainers! Shoo... Thinking of trying out some meat soon as I'm really a carnivore.
Eeva also let me know where I can buy pumpkin juice as well, and just started to drink it today, hope I'm not too late for all the healing.

And heat packs seeem hard to use! Any idea? I just got one from GRAND (they forgot to give me one in the beginning). Poured hot water over it, and it wouldn't last me 5 minutes. Did I need to use other special packs instead of that (because the wordings says ICE PACK, but i thought it would work in retaining heat as well.. Hmmmm)

hey peeps

so when it comes to filling in forms - what info do u need to provide? i.e. do u need to prove ur age (btw: i'm well over 18, so if they asked for my ID, i'd actually feel flattered lol), medical background/history etc?

i figure this is surgery and they would be asking a lot of the 'normal' type questions...but Korea is not Australia so not sure if there's something i don't know, but should know...if that makes sense lol

getting excited - less than a month to go!!!!

woot woot!!!
