cookiedee
Wow thanks!!! There are some questions I hadn't thought to ask. I'm going to add these to my notes. These will definitely save me trouble in the future. And not at all, I welcome any information from anyone But does ANY clinic offer free revision? :o I hadn't thought to ask about that or 'what if something went wrong?'. Do the big clinics give refunds? Alsooo, what are your thoughts on Grand? I haven't read any stellar or terrible reviews on them so not sure what to think... But I think I saw someone mentioning that they had a case of someone suing them? x.x They're probably my third choice after Teium and Regen :/
shinyglittery
cookiediee: based on my research if something goes wrong Grand will leave you face down in dirt, thanks and don't come again~ also they boast on their laser v-line technology but apparently jaw/chin is not really something you should trust them with, but they're noses are good? Definitely several botched surgeries and total denial of responsibility/fault~ some clinics offer free revisions but they're usually minor and you have to agree on them beforehand otherwise probably don't expect anything... depends on the clinic ^^ oh ps. most of the big clinics DON'T give refunds and don't admit fault... but there are exceptions though even then expect complications/delays in receiving your refund and DON'T leave the country if you want to see your money, causes your chances of getting a refund plummet... cookiedee
oh my goodness.... thats awful!! I guess their flashy website got to me haha. It's really well presented and has so much information and nice graphics >.< Ok I'm going to cross them off my list! What are your thoughts on Cinderella? (Might still go to Grand for a free consult just to see what they recommend since they have an english translator hehe)
bella147
Shiny, couldn't agree with you more. Firstly let me say that I'm a bit anti-big clinics...just my opinion - big factories that punch you in & out. if anything goes wrong, you have more chances with fixing the error with prayers than with going back to the clinic. However, I have seen 1 x Grand nose IRL and it was nice, I must admit. But I also admit that it was only one real life example so that shouldn't be 'proof' that they're a good clinic. Grand is a decent option for nose & eyes (again, IMO), but I totally agree I wouldn't go there for jaw or vline If you want jaw or vline i would trust EverM - they're conservative tho, so if you want a 'dramatic' look (i.e. dolly look) then they aren't the place to go. However the Drs there are actual proper maxillofacial surgeons. Once of the Drs does quite a bit of charity/volunteer work to help those that suffer facial deformities either from birth or car accidents etc totally legit, but conservative. do your own research and either qualify or dis-prove any of my statements above...never just trust people over the net
shinyglittery
Thank you so much for your reply! you're right in suggesting I want a drastic v-line result, but I'd been looking at everM because v-line is NOT something I'm prepared to let anyone mess up, I rather have a conservative result than risk something horrible... anyway I didn't know everM really only gives conservative results, that's good to know~ are there any other clinics with maxillofacial specialists? I only know of EverM... I'd really like a pretty drastic result (I don't have a huge face or anything but I do want quite a bit of bone cut off, either a full continuous cut/u cut from mandibular to mandibular t-cut plus sides shaving, either way I really want a continuous smooth v-line so if conservative means following the natural shapes of the bone and leaving some of the shapes kind of there then I'm not sure... ah, v-line is the one surgery I'm really worried about getting it right, anything else I'm not really that worried (though I wouldn't make a healf-hearted/healf-informed decision on any surgery)
shinyglittery
Like I said I'm considering Cinderella for my eyes I haven't read any bad reviews of them yet but if anyone wants to prove me wrong... xD feel free~ any information is welcome! I really wish I had more information on Cinderella! I don't even have any prices for them(ps. check out the "post prices of Korean clinics here" I posted a list I'm making... any help would be welcome ^^
bella147
i think technically any DR should be able to do conservative or dramatic, BUT i think the Drs at EverM just prefer conservative - i guess it comes with the territory of primarily being a maxillofacial specialist and not a plastic surgeon - if that makes sense obviously look around and do ur research. i;m sure we both have different views of what's beautiful and what's not dramatic - possibly view, cinderella is an option or dream (N.B: i have never met with any of these clinics before so i'm not speaking from personally experience, just naver pics i've seen of their work - to me their 'after' pics are dramatic)
cookiedee
Hi Bella, it seems Regen has a really good reputation though and they're also a really big clinic? But yeah I totally get what you are talking about, the factory process. Do you think Grand is fine for eyes? Or since they have that factory mentality and don't care about their patients, its better to go elsewhere anyway? I want to feel taken care of, not because they're after my money and will leave me out cold after they do the surgery :/ @Shinyglittery, I'm also keeping my eyes open for information on Cinderella! Just found a post that might help you with compiling price information: # I found this post on Cinderella and it seems a bit dodgy but I guess we shouldn't judge on just one recount? #
shinyglittery
that's the decision I'm wrestling with, maxillo or plastic... xD I've also seen a good after or two from both clinics but I don't use naver so it's been more coincidence... neither is on my black list though and i've heard good of both clinics I can read hangul (anyone can, takes 5 minutes to learn) but I don't understand the language (beyond a few words) and pasting text to google translate sounds like an awful way of reading a forum so I don't know xO I want the information though... but learning a whole language doesn't really seem like the smartest solution either xD (well, it would probably be the SMARTEST but given how much effort and energy it takes... ._. ) is there any chance you could share anything from your 'collection of b&a and other useful info' from naver? if not I'll have to think about the google translate way... do you know if there are any programs you can download that could do the translation on your desktop? (probably not?) would seem a bit easier than using google, just a thought xD
shinyglittery
oh hey thank you for that post! nono, consider everything never make the mistake of thinking 'oh it's just a one person' and end up the person with the botched surgery who tells people 'i heard a bad experience but i didn't take it seriously at the time...' because there are a lot of those people, here too~ I'll still go in for a consultation and see how it goes final decision should always be made after a personal visit (except in cases where it's clear you should stay away from the clinic...) if that story is true though it sounds really bad, eyelid surgery does NOT require putting anyone under, not ever and not in any reality :o and thanks I forgot that post now I get to fill a few blanks... ^^
bella147
TBH i think eyes is a relatively simple procedure (as long as you don't want the dramatic look) so Regen and Grand would be ok - I would consider JW as well, if you want to keep to big clinics. In terms of after service, I must admit i didn't care about this - as long as the surgeon didn't mess my face up, i can buy my own drinks or wash my own hair. i always thought it's nice to have those things, but for me, skill of surgeon was paramount and after care service was the cherry on top - of course i only had eyes done. service would jump up on my priority list if i were to have any kind of facial surgery at teiumps their service was pretty ordinary, there are plenty of clinics with better service BUT after the actual surgery i only went back once to have stitches removed and eyes cleaned, so u can see why service wasn't an issue for me...again, it'll be a different story if i had vline or 2-jaw
cookiedee
Yes I feel the same way! I guess I mean, if the doctor doesn't take the time during consultation to really listen to what you want because they feel it's just another simple procedure, I won't feel right going with them :/ If I think about everything, Teium, Regen, Banobagi and Grand are my top 4 atm. So you got your eyes done at Teium? How long has it been since the surgery? Did you get incisional or non-incisional? Are you happy with your results now? Feel free to direct me to your post if you made a recount already haha XD I heard they're really really good for natural eyes so I'm planning to consult with them. Haha yeah I guess I'm being extra cautious and paranoid ^^" But you're right, if it were multiple procedures or something like jaw, then you'd definitely want more post-op care
shinyglittery
Do you need to print the form or can you just ask for the form in customs? Shouldn't it work for every country that you go to the desk or the line where you declare stuff and then tell them you have something to declare...? Also I worry about getting my money stolen if I declare it and someone finds out/follows me xO it's a lot of cash to carry around and I don't exactly like plastic... it's actually one of my worries, transporting lots of money! x_x
cookiedee
Mm yeah it does seem odd.. They only do local anesthesia if you only do eyelid surgery, right? Yeah, it's best to keep it in mind ^^" You're right, I don't want to end up being the person who ignores peoples experiences. A wise person learns from other peoples mistakes so they don't become your own!
shinyglittery
thank you for your opposing view ^^ it's good to hear from both sides. I plan on crossing so many borders that I really don't know if declaring is a bigger risk than not declaring xO the only alternative would be getting a bank account in a bank that also has a branch in korea... which might not be the easiest thing to do (I only know one and it's a commercial bank so I don't know if they accept regular customers...) (and I don't like banks anyway!)
