nicolescloset Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Has anyone had plasma injections? I keep hearing about it but, don't know if it really works. Its where they take out your blood, mix it, remove plasma, and inject into your face. It has the same effects as botox but lasts longer. Im curious.
amkur Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 It's actually like fillers which add volume, which aging faces lack. The idea is to stimulate your own body to create collagen and thus providing the patient with the appearance of a lift. This procedure does require a third party company to culture the cells to be reinjected into the face, which does involve quite a bit in cost and the reason this procedure is not yet mainstream.
nicolescloset Posted December 9, 2012 Author Posted December 9, 2012 Thanks for your response. Do you know if ot lasts longer?
wibbler Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 I think that Botox and the plasma act in different ways -- for example, Botox is meant to freeze facial muscles by killing nerves (remember that Botox is a toxin)... these nerves regenerate over time (depending on the amount of Botox that was injected and on what muscle) but while the muscle is 'frozen', it gives the appearance that your wrinkles have faded away. It's also a method to prevent wrinkles from forming if you use Botox for a long period of time... Plasma injection is different -- it acts as a kind of filler so it 'fills in' the depressions in our skin aka. wrinkles and hollows.
cute_lil_fiend Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 This sounds like a type of stem cell therapy to me. AKA where they extract the adipose (fat) stem cells and reinject them after culture.
babyshocker Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 This procedure has been around since 2006. What it basically does is to act as filler, quite similar to the more popular Botox and Restylane. Since it use of your own blood for facial rejuvenation, it creates that natural refreshed look without looking so overdone which is common with other non-surgical procedures.
princessdiary Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Is this the PRP? Platelet rich plasma? Anyone know whats the difference between PRP & stem cell?
cyndee Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I've had this done. It was simple and painless. Very long lasting and natural. It's been over a year so I could probably do it again soon. I had botox in my forehead at the same time and I've had to have that 'topped up' a few times as it doesn't last nearly as long. The best and more noticable results are for those that have dark undereye circles. That wasn't a problem for me, but it was for my doctor and the difference in his before and after is unbelievable. They are virtually gone. If anyone has any questions feel free to post or pm me.
mainer84 Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 I know someone who had this done as well. Her doctor did a great job, and I'd definitely recommend it over Botox.
cheon Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Just saw this in my news feed. It's a couple days old, but it's good nonetheless.http://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/kim-kardashians-vampire-facial-experts-weigh-in-2013143 I think that some clinics do offer this in Korea but botox is more popular.
skyqueen Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Good to know! I've had Juvederm injected into the under eye hollows...hurt like hell! Lasted about 6 months, for the pain I wish it lasted longer. UGH!
coutureme06 Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Whoa this helps with dark circles. *runs to research
fevrier78 Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 I did PRP couple of times, well.. Results are good, you could notice your skin tighter and brighter in the next couple of weeks but this kind of treatment needs maintainance, means it lasts only for few months and after you have to re do the treatment but do not expect significant changes. Would i to try this again ? Nope.. Too expensive for the result, i would rather spend my money on radio frequency treatment or other anti aging facial )
