Has anybody tried Pitangui?

Recommended Posts

Hi everybody, I just got my surgery at Pitangui yesterday Monday the 23rd. I came all the way from the US by myself and was really nervous traveling around a foreign country that I didn't even know the language at all (i'm Vietnamese). They picked me up at the airport and drove me directly to my hotel at Lex, which was like an hour away. My whole flight actually got cancelled and I was nervous they wouldn't read my email in time to know my flight has changed, but they were there still waiting there when I got off the plane to pick me up. I did the consult with Dr. Yoo at 10:30 and my surgery was at 11:30. The consult was very brief maybe like 5-10 minutes and I had consulted to get incisional double eyelid with ptosis correction; dorsal augmentation, lengthening and tip projection for my nose, eye bag repositioning, chin implant, and fat grafting to my cheeks and eyes. The price they gave me was good for all the stuff I was gonna get, but I even bargained down a little bit more. The place looked very elegant and the surgery room wasn't as dirty as I had thought it was gonna be based on previous reviews. I went through surgery for about 3-4 hours. It was a little bit scary at first because they gave me medicine to supposedly put me to sleep twice, but I could not fall asleep either time so was awake the whole time under twilight sedation. It felt like I was really drunk but was still aware of all the things that are happening. I heard everything as well although I didn't dare to open my eyes. I felt lots of pressure and at times I would feel some pain, but he would give me more anesthesia. He did my nose first, then my eyes (which hurt the most), then my chin and then the fat grafting. Overall, it was a bit scary because I knew everything tbat was going on, but after I was well rested for an hour in the guest room and was able to look in the mirror, I was already happy with my results and don't regret a thing. My eyes were finally symmetrical (as it was uneven before the surgery because I had more ptosis on one eye than the other). My nose was definitely more defined as he told me he was going to remove some of the excess connective tissues on the sides as well to make it look smaller without reducing the alar base. My chin was a little pointier, which for some reason made my lips look more shaped. I have no idea how that happened, but I love my lip shape the way they are right now and don't know if its just the anesthesia making it numb and different or what. I'm also returning in a few days to get my lips color tattooed hopefully. The post-op instructions were good. They gave me all these medicines (painkillers and antibiotics) and told me what I should and should not do. I'm returning today to get antibiotic injections and tomorrow as well. I'm not in any pain at all, but my eyes are a little tearing and blurry so I can't see as clearly. Some bleeding still occurs around my eyes but I'm constantly cleaning it with a q-tip with hydrogen peroxide that I brought myself. The girls were really nice. They made sure I was fully conscious before they let me go. And when I said i was gonna walk back to my hotel, which was like around the corner they were even worried for me, but I was OK and just wanted to go back to the hotel. Overall, the experience was good, except the being awake part (for some reason I didn't get knocked out as I had hoped). Oh also the girls told me that if I wasn't satisfied with ANY of my procedures I can get a revision for free within one year. At first I thought that they must make lots of mistakes, but after the surgery I was already happy with my results and having the option of revision is like a "warranty" for me. I definitely recommend this clinic to anyone. I like that it's small and there's only one doctor that works on you instead of being juggled around to 10 different doctors. I can give anyone more details about my experience if you like. Ok that's all for now.

It seems to be at Sinsa subway station in Seoul. I think it is yellow line.

That sounds like a good experience overall. Thanks for sharing. I'm considering Pitangui for my trip in August so it's quite reassuring to hear your experience

Hey thanks for sharing! I'm considering Pitangui too and the same procedures that you did (minus the eye bag repositioning) for my trip in mid July. Would you mind telling me how it's like doing all these procedures at once? How are you feeling now, and how are you coping with the swelling? When are you leaving Korea? Thanks in advance

Hi everyone this is my 3rd day in Korea. I just got my lips tattooed yesterday and right after the procedure it looked super red and it freaked me out! However, they said it should peel and get lighter over several days, which seems like it already is today so that made me feel better. Im surprised I'm not feeling ANY pain since after the surgery. I took all the medicines they gave me, plus some antivirals for my lip tattoo. I'm also taking some of my own meds, which includes arnica, bromelaine (pineapple extracts), 600mg of ibuprofen (to reduce swelling), vitamin K just to help with bleeding (but it had already stopped after the first day), and some vitamin C to help with healing. I've also been eating canned pineapple and pumpkin everyday that I brought from the US! I heard it helps with swelling which seems like it is. The pumpkin also has lots of vitamin A, which may help rejuvenate my liver for taking soo many meds at once (never took this much meds in my life). My eyes were bruised up mostly on the first day, the second day it turned yellow (which means the blood clots are dissolving) and the swelling has reduced a lot. I've been walking about an hour each day so the swelling would go down faster as well. I think I might say that I'm pretty brave to do all of this on my own - going to Korea myself (without ANYONE knowing - not even family or friends/bf) and taking care of myself after many surgeries and going through this all by myself. I'm 24 years old and I'm a college student. I think when you want something so much sometimes you take your chances in life. However, I wouldn't say chances because I've been planning out and researching a lot for the past year. But my thought was that not everyone was born the same/equal and life's not fair. So why not make the best out of your life and make yourself happy since YOLO! My face can be plastic, but my personality is definitely not because everyone around me loves me. I just feel sometimes my personality doesn't match what I have on the outside so I feel this trip was what I needed. I recommend those who are not that strong and determined to not make this trip alone because it might be frightening. However, I'm coping with everything perfectly fine and the people here are so nice even when I don't know the language a bit (except to say Hello and Thank you lol). I will be returning to US on Tuesday July 1 so staying here about 9 days, but 8 actually days for the surgery since I did it one day after arrival. My sister's wedding is July 5th and I'm one of the bridesmaid! So I hope all the swelling/bruising will go down by then (almost 2 weeks since surgery). It will also be a family reunion and my bf will be there. I'm kinda nervous/excited on what they have to say about my face. Actually, I want it to be so natural that they can't tell that I actually had surgery, but that I just got prettier somehow. That's another reason why I chose Pitangui - because Dr. Yoo's philosophy is the beauty of being natural and I wanted to look natural - just prettier natural. If you want a dramatic change you shouldn't go here - even the girls at the clinic told me that. Well Good luck everyone! I'll post more updates soon.

Hi, i am glad everything turned out good for you considering the long trip and being alone.
Can I ask who did the lip colour tattoo, was it a technician or a surgeon?

I'm posting up an update picture of my eyes from before, immediately after surgery, one day after, and two days after. You can see I have severe ptosis on one of my eyes and a little less on the other. This makes my head tilt towards the weak side unconcsciously as you can see in this picture. The ptosis was corrected right after the surgery and you can see my head doesn't tilt anymore and you can see that my eyes are more symmetrical. I also got fat grafted on my upper eyelids as you can see the "hollow", which can make one look older and also fat removed from my lower eyelids (fat repositioning) to remove the darkness underneathe. PLEASE RESPECT MY PRIVACY AND DO NOT POST THIS OR COPY THIS ANYWHERE ELSE. I'm posting this so people on this forum after me can make a more confident and informed decision. I know it was hard to find post-surgical reviews, comments and pictures as it was for me during my long research so I'm just trying to help you all out.
To answer your question about the lip tattoo, I'm not sure what she is but they called her "doctor" and she was the only one performing all the procedures and seems like everyone else were just assistants or nurses. She's the same women you see on the website. I didn't know you have to be a doctor to do these cosmetic procedures, but she might have some special degree I dunno. She was alright, not too friendly, but not mean either. I was shocked she didn't ask me what color I wanted however, and my lips and throat were so numb that I could barely talk or swallow to say anything. She just asked the translator that I wanted a "natural pink color right because my lips are too brown?" and all I can say was yes. It's beginning to fade but still wayyyy tooo red for me. I wanted something natural so hope her expertise is good or else I'd be an upset client, since I thought it was rather kinda expensive.

Thanks for the tattoo information, I don't see much about that. I don't think the colour will fade very much from now... at least it's not permanent, it will be interesting to do some research on how long the body takes to metabolize those. The last picture... I am very surprised your bruising resolved so quickly.

I am so happy with my lip tattoo at Pitangui. It all of a sudden peeled all off today and looked soooo natural pink like I wanted. Thank goodness that women had good expertise and I trusted her. Now I can't wait for tomorrow to come so I can take off the stitches and bandages and finally see my nose for the first time. Hope that comes out nice and natural as well!

Hi Eskimo

I think it's amazing you flew all the way out to Korea by yourself and braved this journey on your own. I too will be flying to Korea on my own from California, but I'm so scared about being alone the entire time. Thanks for sharing your story! Hope you're recovering well!

I have went pitangui for consult. The price that they quoted me was the cheapest among others.

Fats transfer to breast at 3.3 million won.

The location is very convenient. Sinsa station exit 2 and a less than 5 min walk on your right.

Hi eskimo90. Just want to congratulate u on ur brave and successful surgery. I hope u'll continue to recover quickly. Ur eyes were extremely beautiful and exotic (apart from hollowness that u talked about) prior to the surgery I must admit. Were they natural to begin? Also what advice would u give to someone like me who's also contemplating on making the trip overseas? More specifically, with regards to arranging food, medical supplies, scheduling outdoor visits, keeping eyes closed when u want to be reading/watching all day, etc. Lastly, did u ultimately choose ur ps based on ur instinct or on b/a photos? Being a male with science background, I'm leaning towards ps with the most number of aesthetically 'welldone' after photos...by which I mean naturally looking in-out fold post op without the 'parallel' crease line which is not commonly found amongst asian populations. Also what made u choose korean surgeons over numerous board certified american plastic ent/occuloplastic surgeons? My mind tells me that these american board certified specialist surgeons specialising in facial/eye regions would be more safe and anatomically knowledgeable and skilled than their korean counterparts who tend to perform surgeries all over the entire body but somehow their b/a photos seem less naturally 'welldone' compared to that of their korean colleagues'. Anyway wish u fast and sweet healing process once again eskimo and big ups to ur bravery!

Just wondering if anyone went Pitangui for Breast augmentation or fats transfer to breast? Pitangui quoted me the lowest so far for my breast surgery which I plan to go in Oct or Nov.

However, Dr told me I have enough fats for breast fats transfer. But he is the only doctor that willing to do fats transfer to breast for me. The other few clinics that I have went recommended me to put implant as I had lipo before ( I may not have enough fats).

Would want to consider Pitangui as he is the cheapest among others but worried he is wrong in consult and I have not enough fats during the procedure.

Hi Snooker,

I am planning to have my cheekbone done with Pintangui, how did yours turn out?
Also were you able to chew after the surgery? And how big is the scar or incision? The main reason Pintangui caught me was their facelift as my bones are really broad and I can forsee a huge sagging without a facelift. If you are conformable, maybe you could sent me a pm or email on your results at [email protected]

Regards
