eurasian_girl Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Hi there, I haven't seen too much information on Rhinoplasty surgery in the Philippines. I've added a photo of my nose for your reference. Basically I want to get an alarplasty to remove some of my nostril and then the bridge straightened. I'm half caucasian and half asian. I have a high bridge so fortunately I do not need an implant, I need to get my bridge shaved down. Please respond if you've gotten a rhinoplasty in the Philippines and if you like your results and which doctor/clinic you used. Any feedback, opinions would be so much appreciated. Like I said, I haven't read too much about anyones experience in the Philippines. Thanks so much
shinyglittery Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 I've read many bad reviews of Levi Lansangan at Shimmian Manila but then I read this, I'm posting this because I want to be impartial ^^http://www.realself.com/review/manila-philippines-post-op-rhinoplasty-day-splint-removed She seems happy with the result and I think it's a notable improvement~ I don't know any other surgeons in the Philippines, you should google the surgeons you're considering and see what people say about them ^^ The most important thing is how you want your nose to look afterwards, some surgeons are "one look" surgeons that give everyone the same nose, others are more flexible and everyone has their own style ^^
hondabar88 Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 But I really suggest you get your surgeries done in Korea. The surgeons have more practice.
shinyglittery Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 I agree! Korea is the best Asian country for rhinoplasty
eurasian_girl Posted September 18, 2013 Author Posted September 18, 2013 Thanks everyone for the advice about getting it done in Korea. My travel plans are going to be 2 weeks in China, about a week in Japan and then 2 weeks in Philippines. Plus I am staying with a friend in the Philippines who knows the language and can drive me to all my appointments etc. If I go to Korea, I will not have anyone and won't feel comfortable. That's why I would prefer to have it done in the Philippines.
shinyglittery Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Please think on this carefully. Such a border hopping isn't best suited for your surgery plans even if it is just a nose surgery. Like everyone said you're going to live with that nose FOREVER and revisions are a lot more difficult and expensive. Please think carefully if you want to have it right now or maybe later when you can go to the best possible surgeon ^^
otomegirl Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 I'm going to the Philippines in two weeks and am definitely getting facial contouring and eyebag removal. My appointment is on the 10th. I'm seriously considering getting rhinoplasty, but I'm a little scared! I already spoke to the surgeon about it, and all his reviews and before and after pictures look good, but he doesn't have that many. I know that SK doctors have more experience, but I want to get this done in one shot, and I have family I can stay with in the Philippines. Also, I've spoken to a lot of plastic surgeons, and they all speak English very well. Most Filipinos speak English, and medical tourism is prevalent there.
eurasian_girl Posted September 23, 2013 Author Posted September 23, 2013 ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I'm staying with my friend in the Philippines so I feel more comfortable getting it done there too. If I went to SK, I would be all alone. I emailed 3 plastic surgeons in the Philippines and they all responded in English so I'm happy about that. I'm nervous about getting it done too, but I think I may just get alarplasty and tip plasty so that they don't touch my bridge. Then at least I won't have to get my nose broken and it would be less invasive. By the way, what surgeon have you chosen to do your procedures? I'm leaning towards Dr. Rino Lorenzo for my rhinoplasty out of the 3 that I've consulted with. He actually recommended only having alarpasty and tip plasty which I'm starting to feel more comfortable with. I really don't want a drastic change, very subtle so that my appearance doesn't completely change. The major thing that's always bothered me about my nose is my large nostrils anyways. Thanks so much for your input and good luck with your surgeries!!!! Please keep me updated on how it goes and if you are happy with the results
otomegirl Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Yeah, exactly! If I was getting jaw surgery or a nose implant or something really "big" like that, I'd suck it up and go to SK, but I don't think lower blepharoplasty or facial contouring ever goes too badly. I also spoke to Dr. Rino Lorenzo. In total I spoke to Dr. Alvin (Cosmedics Treatment Center), Dr. Joaquino (MegaClinic), Shimmian, Beverly Hills Medical Group, and Dr. Yapjuangco (Icon Clinic). I've pretty much choses Dr. Yapujuangco. He listened to me the most. I was pretty dissatisfied with Shimmian. Beverly Hills Medical Group seemed alright. I will keep you updated!
shinyglittery Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 at least please talk to other philipinos and find out how they look like and if they're happy first ^^ don't just go because it's nearer... and not research just because it's not Korea! research is always good ^^
eurasian_girl Posted September 24, 2013 Author Posted September 24, 2013 Yes that's good advice, I'm doing as much research as I can. I'm not having it done until May 2014. I've also been looking on Philippino plastic surgery forums too. This is a life changing surgery, which I don't take lightly. The more I can research, the better I'll feel about doing the surgery.
eurasian_girl Posted September 24, 2013 Author Posted September 24, 2013 I spoke to Shimmian too and also Belo. I will look into Dr. Yapujuangco at Icon Clinic. Thanks for all the information and can't wait to hear how it all goes
krism805 Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Vicki Belo is the most popular in cosmetic surgery in the Philippines right now. Go to her website and check around.
shinyglittery Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 "life changing" haha you make it sound so serious... xD i just want nobody to be unhappy with their new looks... it's always so sad... please take care and i hope your dreams come true ^^
eurasian_girl Posted September 25, 2013 Author Posted September 25, 2013 Yes, I've heard about Vicki Belo and I emailed the Belo clinic. Dr. Ed Yap is the surgeon that does rhinoplasty there. They only do in person consultations which isn't very convenient for me since I don't live in the Philippines.
