otomegirl
Hello, I'm getting ps in two weeks, but what's making me the most nervous is how I wont' be able to exercise. I'm afraid of losing my progress, as I've gotten into heavy weight lifting, and am now able to do things like pull ups and am getting visible abs for the first time in my life. I eat "clean" now, so I don't think that I will put on weight, but I'll be sad if my hard work and strength disappear. I know I can do light exercises after 2 weeks, but... I don't do light exercises, and I do a lot of things that are inverted and parallel to the ground as well. Does anyone have suggestions?
shinyglittery
i'm sorry if you don't find this helpful but... i suggest you take rest seriously... otherwise complications... might end up in bed and not excercising... for a long longer... take care of yourself ^^ (I don't know what you're getting done... if it's only something small like nose or eyes then maybe not so important...) otomegirl
I'm definitely getting eye bag removal and facial lipo (i have genetically chubby cheeks and one is noticeably bigger than the other one.. giving my face a weird shape). i haven't decided whether or not i am getting rhino, but if i get rhino, i'm sure i'll have to rest longer.. shinyglittery
okay... well... I don't think that sounds like a lot... 2 weeks rest is probably enough ^^ but ask your dr... don't listen to me... xD but that's all "minor surgery" so i don't think you have to rest for too long... lautan
If you do lots of stretching of the muscles while you're unable to exercise, it keeps them strong. Be sure to ask the doctor before engaging in yoga or other stretching first, though. You will likely be able to maintain or even continue to improve the strength of your muscles Since you said in a later post that all of the surgery will be done on your face, unless they graft something from another body area, you'll probably be allowed to stretch
simplicit
I've had BA twice. The first time I went back to the gym in two weeks, the second time I went back to the gym within a week. Mind you I made sure not to do anything that would strain my chest muscles too much. For example when I trained my legs, I eliminated deadlifts from my routine and focused on squats (instead of lifting 45lbs to add weight onto the barbell, I'd use combinations of smaller weights instead) and machines that isolated my legs. If you're getting rhino, I'd wait until whenever you can normally breathe. If you're getting your eyes done, I don't see why you can't go back right away...I had my eyes done two days after my second BA and went to the gym 4 or 5 days after that.
