thetrolltrain Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Avoid using a third party translator or medical tourism service. Most clinics, including Pitangui, have in-house translators. The presence of a translator leads to a 20-40% price increase due to commission for the translator.

ideabaker Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Trolltrain, thanks for your advice. I was thinking of using someone who arranges private airport pickup and who attends three consultations with me, as well as who checks in on me during those first few days after surgery. I would be going alone and am not keen to try to navigate public transport on my own in a language I don't speak! Do you know if the clinics generally offer people who help post-surgery?
thetrolltrain Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 It depends on the clinic, but I don't think most clinics offer (personal) check ins. There are clinics that do offer overnight stays or accommodation. For certain procedures, some clinics will offer a "package"for aftercare. It all depends on your procedures. I'm not very familiar with this process though, since my surgeries won't require this type of care. If you're afraid of getting lost with public transport, you can always try using taxis as they're inexpensive.
thelittlebean Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Hi Petiteminime, Congratulations for looking so awesome. Could you share please where you purchased the Purtier? Am thinking of getting it for my surgery end of this month! Thanks much in advance TLB
thetrolltrain Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Please be careful with Purtier, especially with buying from random people online. Doing a brief google search Purtier is sold through sellers that are similar pyramid-businesses. It's just deer placenta and has lots of outrageous claims about it (i.e. Stem cell therapy, curing diseases). I'm sure placenta is generally good for the body, but be cautious of what you're putting into your body, especially post-op. Not saying petiteminime is wrongful in any way, but be careful with a product that doesn't have enough research. Supplements like Artica Montana are backed up by pharmacists (professionals) for de-swelling. This is coming from someone who's loved one has died far too early after taking supplements sold by pyramid-sellers (without a physicians opinion) believing it would slow down their cancer. A very outrageous claim.
thelittlebean Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 I see! thanks for sharing, TTT! Now I am not too sure how I can speed up my recovery TLB
thetrolltrain Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Recovery is different from person to person. You can help ease the side effects by taking some of the supplements listed on this thread: # These should help with the healing process, but of course the recovery time ranges from person to person (different surgeries, immune system, etc). Take vitamin C to boost your immune system. Drink pumpkin and pineapple juice for de-swelling.
shinyglittery Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA哈哈哈哈哈哈 thank you for sharing!
thetrolltrain Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Cures snoring, cancer, AND GIVES ME FABULOUS TOE NAILS?! Maybe these placentas do work, but these testimonials are too outrageous to not be a joke!
shinyglittery Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 it is ridiculous, i would have been angry if it was written in a more serious sounding manner (a family member died of cancer) but it is clearly a joke. so you can do nothing but laugh...
thetrolltrain Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 It's really dangerous, especially if they market it to all cancers. Many ginseng supplements (not the whole physical root) contain a synthetic that mimics the root, is estrogen-like, especially harmful to breast cancer patients. As someone who may get breast cancer I will definitely stay away from (dubious) placentas and ginseng supplements!
