cloudbusting
Thank you for sharing your experience, mimi! I have to ask, why did you change your mind about AT?
mimi60
Dr Park only do the Acculift, I have to go to Dr Kwon for Fat Graft and I heard he is not good on FG. In the end I am happy with Dr Yung at TLPS for both so I changed my mind.
susaki
Hi Mimi, thanks for sharing your experience with us, I am planning to go to korea in nov, however, I am stuck now after doing a lot of researches. As I don't know which people I can believe, there are many advertisements too...... I want to do primary rhinoplasty, eyelid and fat grafting. I have seen the before and after pic from TLPS, and it look natural and gd. Do you know which dr can do the best rhinoplasty in TLPS? and also eyelid? mimi60
Hi Susaki, it's hard to recommend anyone to do their surgery. It has to go with your instinct. I guess the best is to write down those clinics that you like to visit, and meet the doctor, discuss with them and see what they tell you. Cos even it's a good doctor but maybe he hasn't got the feeling of reaching your goal. In my case for example, Dr Lee is obviously very reputable but when it comes to my consultation with him, he simply told me he could not help me to define my jowl line with acculift and didn't recommend me any other solutions, while Dr Jung at TLPS show me patient of similar case and recommend me to the power V Lift which he think can achieve my goal, so I chose him. Also, atDA I met two girls from the states, one with a perfect nose job and the other cried her eyes out and I was so silly to ask if she did her eyes too,......., just select those clinics you want to go, make an appointment and meet in person, then you will tell yourself. Hope this help.
mimi60
I would add something too, my friend has a very uncommon eyelid issue but Dr Kwon at AT who is famous on eyes did a great job on her.
dawnahly
Do you think it was worth getting it done? I've really wanted to get my nose done and leaned towards Korea because I would feel more comfortable getting it done by someone who has experience working with Asian features. (I also don't think the language thing would be a barrier for me since I'm Korean American.) Mostly, I'm paranoid that I'm going to end up with a ridiculously narrow and fake looking result. mimi60
I know it's hard girls but pleasssse go for consultation in person with your doctors of choice, it's important.
maiq
Agree with mimi60. Guys, Your best bet is to consult with a few in person then decide based on how comfortable you are with the doctors and what you observe there. Sometimes reputation or words of mouth can be inflated by promoters (and there are A LOT of promoters on purseforum, after Ive been here for a while I can recognise a new one everyday) so it's not the most trustworthy thing to rely on, trust your instinct when you talk to the clinic and dr in person. You should take your time and read more (and in full, the popular threads such as Best Clinic or Asian nose job) to make sure you have good judgements of how different people view different clinic, and shortlist like 3-4 clinics for consultation. The thing is each clinic has different style, some subtle some dramatic, plus there is no clinic that is good at everything. TL might be the best clinic for mimi60 because it suits her style, budget and timing, doesnt mean it will be the best for you. So trust no one but your own judgement and research, because in the end of the day it's your face and your suffering if things go wrong. There is NO shortcut to finding clinics, many people have rushed their research and just go where others go (or more like, where other SAID they gonna go/think it's good, but well, words are easy to say because they dont resume any responsibility on the outcome of your surgery), that's where we saw terrible things happened (checking back older threads for negative reviews)
maiq
mimi60- omg that worries me... because I am intending to do nose at DA if I'm comfortable with the dr. What exactly was wrong with the nose of the girl who 'cries her eyes out'? and did she actually do eyes? I know dr lee reputation for facial contouring but not sure of his eye skills. Plus the less well-known nose dr there seems to have more of hit-or-miss style of doing nose. I have heard some turns out great, some horrible, so I'm quite concerned. Do you feel the girls you met at DA look natural but not fake looking? I have seen the B&A of TL, tbh i dont feel the pics on the website are very natural (maybe they photoshop too much). Do you think the girl you met at TL in real life look natural?
mimi60
Hi the girl who cried her eyes out has in fact really cried her eyes out, she hasn't done anything to eyes but I mistakenly asked her if she has done any eyes surgery, she told me in fact she was crying whole night and was unsatisfactory of the nose. She told me she wants a higher nose but Dr told her it wouldn't fit her, end result is she was not happy with the lower bridge after the surgery. But her friend also from the forum has done a great job, she did it for only 10 days it was perfect no one can tell it was a fake nose. Surgery is like that, there is always a risk with the outcome I guess. This is my sole opinion I found DA's patient's nose a bit too fake but perhaps that's just a handful of them like this and I incidentally have just met them. mrsking
mimi, Thanks for being so informative and patient with all of our questions. Hope I am not taking too much of your time. Feel sorry for the poor girl with a dispoointed nose from Dr. Ann .. Was the good nose with high bridge? Hope Dr. Ann is capable of adding a good bridge if it's needed.. You had mentioned somewhere that you weren't complete certain that Dr. Lee from DA was the best for eye surgery. Have you seen any patients of his that made you say so? Or is it just that you haven't seen many good eye results from him? Would you mind sharing more about the V-line acculift you had? I have lots of fat in my face, particulaylt in the lower part of the face around the jaw area. It just seems that everytime I put on some weight, it all goes to my face and jaw! I plan to have acculift to remove those fat, then have a lower face lift to tighten the skin and underlying tissue. In your experience with Acculift, do you think Acculift is the the right one for me in terms of removing extra fat in the face? I am not too worried about sagging, because I need a lower face lift anyway. Sorry for a long post. Hope you rest well. mimi60
Hi Mrs King, the Dr in DA told her she can change her nose immediately for free I remember but he suggest she wait until the swell has gone and back in 6 month or 1 year. I don't know what she decided after as we both were removed to another room, guess the reception ladies were concerned that we talk among us. The reason about my comment on Dr Lee's eye surgery is my personal opinion, as he is famous and specialized on face contouring, I am skeptical on he can be good on both. I guess I saw some girls have their eyes done and they are quite pretty though. I always say Acculift but i have actually done Power V Lifting which dr said is an advanced and patent licensed version of TL, it use ultrasound and laser to dissolve and suck out the fat, and tighten the SMAs layer and skin. You should search this method on google. He told me the difference is power V suck out the fat while acculift does not. But I cannot tell you the result for now as I still feel lump and swollen. I will let you know once it's all gone. But dr said the final result can be seen only after 3 to 6 month although my friend made me a picture and tell me I can see my jawline already. susaki
Thanks for your reply, I will go to that 2 posts and have a look, and also the websites, so far, I have seen TLPS, Cinderella, Jewelry and Wonjin. Wonjin, TLPS look natural, Cinderella have some amazing result, but one seems very fake, like a plastic doll, I don't really want to turn out look like tht fake...... And seems not much people talk about Cinderella, do u any things about this and wonjin? And hope you rest well
mrsking
mimi, Thanks for helping me to go back and take another look at TLPS Their power v lift looks interesting. I know some forumers are concerned over its fat reduction feature, but I am not sure the concern is justified, particularly for chubby cheeked Asians like myself. It's probably a legit concern for many Caucasians who naturally have less fat/soft tissue in their cheeks - when they get older, they may have the problem of hollow cheeks if they have the power v at young age. Asian women with naturally full cheeks I see usually don't get hollow anywhere in their face as they get older. Their cheeks usually look less full, therefore, better as they age, but their lower faces gets heavy and wide. That's what happened to me. I need to solve my bone problem first with zygoma and jaw, then consider something like power v lift for fat reduction. I was honing in on DA over the last few weeks, now I want to also take a look at TL because of its 3D zygoma and power V lift.
paxsky
Thanks for posting your experience. your post had me thinking about how much of the "fake" look is due to the doctor's skills or the demands of the patients. maybe the noses look fake because the patients demand a type of nose that doesn't suit their face or makes it look unbalanced but the doctor did it to make the patient happy, like the girl who wants a higher bridge even though the doctor recommended/ did a lower bridge. to avoid this whole problem, i don't know why most clinics can't show you the preview of the surgical results so that you and the doctor are on the same page? The popularity of DA among this forum had me researching it again, and the doctors' credentials are stellar, but their target clientele seem to be young women going for a very specific look- chins on the pointy side, high and straight nose, proportionally large eyes ... My guess is the doctors can perform a more natural look as well but they're doing what the customer want, which is good and bad. so again i don't know if you could blame the doctor if it comes out looking fake. it reminds me of woman who want breast implants that are too big for them and they look fake, but they still get them.
