piyochi Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 I just finished my major PS (Zygoma revision, mandible, genioplasty, ptosis and primary nose) on April 16, 2014 and fat graft on April 23, 2014. I feel good enough to contribute back to this forum even though I am not fully recovered. Ive read almost all posting on this forum even though I wasnt very active on asking questions or posting any comments. I didnt know much about PS until I came to this forum. I am sure a lot of you are feeling the same way. I also met my PS buddy through someone from this forum. Its amazing how we are connecting to each other. I am from Canada and my PS buddy (PSP) is from Singapore and she is a well known member in this forum. She started her research back in 2008. I am very fortunate to have her as my PS buddy. We met at Incheon airport at 11pm on April 14. I try to go as detail as I can and I will try to answer all questions as they come along.April 15th consultation day: We went to White Clinic (www.whiteclinic.net/www.whiteps.net) at 10am even though this clinic wasnt on our list and we didnt make any appointment. We kept changing our list until our consultation day. Lol I am glad we did. We were at the White Clinic for about 4-5 hours including all the X ray and consultations with both Dr. Choi (eyes, nose and fat graft expert) and Professor Lee (face contour specialist/TRAINER and not trainee). PSP and I were looking to do similar procedures but our face structures are different and Professor Lee gave us different opinions for our face contour surgery. He was a bit arrogant but he is very competent. I wasnt planning to do eyes at all, but Dr Choi pointed out that I have lazy eyes and I have been using my forehead muscle to open my eyes so he suggested me to go the eye correction surgery which is ptosis. Dr Choi is very warm and caring. He listened to both of us carefully. Professor Lee speaks English and Dr. Choi speaks a little bit of English, but no worries because they have Yuki who speaks Japanese, Korean and English fluently. She is the most caring and nicest manager you can find in the PS clinics. Anyways we didnt make our decision right away because we were going to go to Unique, Namu and Able as well, but we ran out of time so we decided to go directly to Able. Able clinic (www.ableclinic.co.kr) PSP and I were almost sure to go to this clinic before our consultations because PSP have been communicate with the doctors from this clinic directly. We even negotiated the price already using kakao, but the manager from this clinic ruined it. Sorry I forgot her name. Even though we didnt choose this clinic at the end, I must say our consultation with Dr Cho (nose and fat graft expect) went very well. He is very knowledgeable. I like the before and after pictures and he was very friendly as well.To be honest, I didnt feel as confident with Dr. Lee (face contour expert) from Able because he suggested the same methods for both PSP and I which we both think its the lazy method. Lol We want to keep the corners curve because we dont want to look fake. However, all his samples are moon cut and we werent very impress with it. The fact that they wanted us to pay $70000 won for the medical exam for each of us before consultations put me off. We wanted to see the doctors first before anything else. PSP and I were deciding whether we should visit more clinics or we should just go with one of the two clinics we visited. We decided to go to White clinic because we know Professor Lee is the jaw specialist and we feel confident with their clinic since lots of celebrities went there for 2 jaw surgeries. They have pictures in their clinic and I cant remember all the names. I only remembered their faces. Lol We were going to go back to White clinic right away but PSP wasnt feeling well because we havent had good rest since we arrived to Korea so we called White clinic back to let them know that we decided to have our surgeries there and we made the arrangement over the phone. Omg my surgery was the next morning on the 16th. PSP and I decided to go have Korean BBQ beef before we go for surgery.Day of surgery: I was extremely nervous. I wanted to see the surgeons once more before surgery. I want to make sure they know what I want. The anaesthesiologist wanted to put me into sleep after my pictures were taken but I ran out of the room and try to find the doctors. Hehe I got to see the doctors once more so I went back to the operation room and here we go. Ops not yet, I dont know why but it took longer than usual for them to put me under GA. I was awake the whole time and I remembered the gas smell. I was thinking how come I am still conscious. I rather be unconscious so I dont have to worry about it. I think he increased the dosage a bit then I passed out. They woke me up for my eyes surgery because I need to be able to open and close my eyes but I was too weak so I believed they let me rest a bit before my eye surgery. My face was so sore but no pain I was conscious during my eye surgery and I felt the needles were going around my eyes. I could hear what was going on around me. Dr. Choi worked on my eyes then my nose. I couldnt wait until it was over. PSP told me that I was in the operation room from 10:30am to 9:30pm. There was not enough time to do fat grafting and my face was swollen like a balloon so we have to have the fat grafting a week later. PSP was going to do part of her surgery on the same day but because mine took too long so she has to wait until the next day. She had to split up her surgeries as well because she decided to do lipo as well. White clinic had a lipo and fat graft promotion. Lipo was 480000 won per area. Super cheap and full face fat graft was 9600000 won. I was going to go for inner thigh lipo but I was so weak and my face was full of bruises so I decided to not do inner thigh lipo. PSP was so brave she opts for Zygoma reduction, V line, nose revision, fat graft, lipo waist, arms and the back of the shoulder lines. She did her lipo and face contour on the 17th and the nose and fat graft a week later as well. Day 1 after the surgery: White clinic was so accommodation for me to stay with PSP. I was supposed to be discharge on the 17th but we wanted to stay together because we booked everything together. Yuki managed to arrange for me to stay one extra night with no extra charge. I started to go crazy because I couldnt breathe properly with my nose plugged and my swollen throat due to GA. I couldnt sleep properly and rest properly. I didnt eat for two days. The nurses were so kind. They treated me like baby. I missed them so much. The nurses dont speak English but they tried their best to understand what I need. One nurse would stay over night at the clinic with us to make sure we are ok. She didnt get to sleep and she used her cellphone to communicate with me. I couldnt speak properly due to GA so we both used Google translation. Lol I was feeling depress and about to go crazy on the first two days even though the nurses and everyone were so nice. I looked horrible and ugly. I had bruises all over my face and one side was more swollen than the other side. I was so worried about how I can manage to go through the Canadian custom in two weeks. I looked like I just got beaten by someone badly. I looked deform and I couldnt recognized myself. I was worried about PSP because it took her so long to wake up after GA. I was about to go insane at the clinic. Then she finally came out. She slept so well and she didnt have any bruises. She took the pre op vitamin set and I didnt so we both think that vitamin is a big help for recovery. She got it from makemeheal.com. You can PM her for more info. J
piyochi Posted May 10, 2014 Author Posted May 10, 2014 It didn't allow me to post everything at once so this is the 2nd part of the post. Day 2: I was complaining about my nose plugged so much that the nurse finally unplugged it for me. I could breathe better but I was supposed to have it plugged for two days or something. I couldnt help it. I now I would go crazy if it doesnt get remove. They removed it for me. I still feel horrible. It was time for us to leave the clinic. We were staying at Highland hotel when we first arrived and we booked the Xena Healing camp (www.xenachina.com) for 5 days after our surgery. I suggest to stay at this place after surgery even though the rooms are tiny but they provide pick up service and clinic visit transportation service while staying at the healing camp. They also provide hair wash service (once a day) and simple meals like congees. The people are super nice. They are very patient and caring. I am glad that we both went there for 6 days. We extended on day because we had our second surgery date so we figured its easier to stay there one more day to make sure we are ok. Day 3-7: We met other girls who had their PS done at different clinics at Xena. Its really a PS healing camp. We were sharing our info and experience. Few girls went to ID and few went to Braun. You wont feel lonely for sure. Lol everyone there is trying to recover from PS. I was worried because I kept coughing blood so I text Yuki and she would ask the doctor for me right away. She is not an interpreter or a middle man. She is the marketing manager of White so she doesnt get bonus by taking care of us but she treats us like friends. I feel like everyone at White clinic is very sincere including the doctors that whats I like about White. They are not fake because some girls told me that they never get to see their doctors after surgery. They only get to see the nurse during check up. PSP and I are so fortunate because we get to see Dr Choi almost every time we go back for check up. We appreciate that a lot because he always try to speak some English to us. They dont find us annoying and they treat us the same even after surgery. Some girls were complaining that the staffs became so cold after they paid. They are not really to do more for them. They were so nice before the surgery. PSP and I are glad that we picked White over other clinics.Day 8-11: We moved back to Highland because its more spacious and we need some quiet time. PSP couldnt sleep properly at Xena because their beds are too thin so we moved back to Highland as soon as we felt better. Highland is so nice. They kept our luggages until we are back with no extra charge. The service was incredible. They would order food for us and they would heat up things for us. They never say no to our request. I would recommend Highland if you are looking for a hotel that is near Sinsa station. They are affordable and they are located on the big road which is good. You feel safer that way even though we felt very safe in Korea. Last day before leaving Korea: We went back to White clinic for our last check up. My eyes were still painful and swollen. Yuki called the pharmacy for me to have the eye drops and eye ointments medication ready for me for the next two months. We would still keep in touch to make sure we are healing well. I dont heal as fast as PSP. My body is weaker and I am easily bruised. It was hard to say good bye to the White clinic staff. We have to go home and we will be back for our 2nd fat graft in the next few months. I wont be posting pictures as I am still look swollen and my eyes are still not good. My left eye didnt heal as well as my right eye so I am following up with Yuki. Shes been very helpful and supportive. I understand its part of the recovery. Everyone is different. My healing process is slower and hopefully my eyes will heal soon. Overall, I am very satisfied with my face contour surgery. I am waiting patiently for my eyes to heal and my nose to be normal. My nose tip is hard at the moment. I will keep posting any new updates whenever I have time to do so. I apologized for this long posting. I wish all of you to have a safe and pleasant PS journey.
thetrolltrain Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Congratulations on your PS journey! I hope you recover quickly. Long posts are only beneficial to forum and all those who are doing research on PS. I have a few questions. Did you contact White Clinic before going to Korea? Do they have a number for international patients? Your post got me very interested, especially since they had a lipo deal. 480000 for lipo is a STEAL!
bigbrowneyedgir Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Wow! I just want you to know I read ALL of both your posts and I am really impressed you two went through so much! I had my eyes done recently but I'm thinking about lipo and fat grafting in the future. I am so glad to learn about the healing camp and about White clinic. I actually never heard about White clinic on these forums before but their price on lipo seems too good to be true! Do you know if the 480,000 krw included both arms or just one arm for lipo? Thanks as don't worry you'll heal fine, just make sure you sleep elevated, ice and take bromelain supplements!
jazzzc Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Hi piyochi, how did you and PSP choose White clinic and Able Clinic as these 2 are not mentioned in these forums at all. And, how did you get to know about Xenachina.com?
rina123 Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 piyochi thank you very much for this wonderful journey
maiq Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Purseforum is not the only source of information about PS. There are a lot of Chinese and Korean forums whose content is on another level (like thousands of threads and picture), however these are only beneficial to those who can read the language. White and able clinics are mentioned in other forums not in English. There are other English forums of PS if you can do a Google search, I don't want to post them here to avoid promotion.
mimi60 Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Hi dear I am interested in finding other sources of info as well, is there other blogs you can recommend ? Either in Chinese or Korean? Thanks! Hope you a speedy recovery.
vanilla-creme Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Hi Piyochi, After reading your post, you give me another choice to choose from. White Dental Clinic is not a plastic surgery clinic, do they do PS? Are their price reasonable?
maiq Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Piyochi, OMG the procedures you want to have done is exactly the same as mine! I also have unique and able on the list for nose... May I ask why you prefer able over unique, consider both are quite good at nose? Another question regarding zygoma reduction with mandible if you dont mind: About 7 days post op, how far can you open your mouth? Can you speak properly? This is because I am back to work right after 2 weeks of surgery and I hope to be able to get back to my everyday life.
jayjoy Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Thanks for sharing OP. Very useful for people like me who are going to Korea.
piyochi Posted May 12, 2014 Author Posted May 12, 2014 theTrollTrain: They do have international patients but they are as famous as others clinics who spent lots of money on advertising. They have more local patients and the good part about them is they have one price list only. They are in the higher price range for local but it's in the average range for the international patients. For example, their Zygoma reduction is around 4-5 mil. As for the lipo, they have the event going on in April but I am not sure how long they have that event for so you will have to contact them to find out. It's 480000 per area which means you have to time it by two if it's for arms. BigBrownEyedGir & jazzzc & Vanilla Crème : White clinic hasn't done much advertisement. PSP is the one who first found out about White Clinic cz she started her research 8 years ago. She wanted to find a jaw specialist. We had Everm on our list too in the beginning but we kept changing our list cz we want it to do all in one. We took White off the list at first because they do face contouring only. PSP thought we should at least get the idea from a jaw specialist so we decided to add White back on the list and we glad we did because we found out that they expanded their dental clinic into two different buildings. They recruited Dr Choi for other PS. They just started to do other PS in January 2014. MaiQ: Yes, there are other places that you can find PS info. Thank you for clarifying! The reason why we decided to go to Able instead of Unique is because Able price gave us a better price and PSP had a friend who did her nose and eyes at Able and she is satisfied with her results and that's an important factor for us. omg I came back after two weeks of my surgery as well. I could open my mouth; however my face is still very stiff. I can talk but not as smooth. I feel like there are some scar tissue around the wound. I have to keep exercising my mouth and facial expression to loose up my face muscle if that make sense. Two weeks should be ok to look kinda normal. It depends on individual cz PSP healed so well. She didn't have any bruises and she looked normal when she left Korea whereas I looked like I got beaten by someone lol I had to use concealer to get through the custom. mimi60: I don't want to get into trouble, but if you do read Chinese you can download the apps called so young. there are lots of information in there, but beware of promoters!!! Rina & jayjoy: Thank you for reading!!
cloudbusting Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 Piyochi, thank you so much for sharing your experience. I'm curious about Able for rhino and contacted them through kakao. Did they have an english translator when you were there? When I asked through kakao, the representative said that she is the translator but her english is "not so good." Lol. Also, was the clinic busy when you were there? Thanks for answering my questions
piyochi Posted May 14, 2014 Author Posted May 14, 2014 Yes they have someone who speak a little bit of English only they have someone who speak fluent chinese but not english I like their nose and Dr cho is nice too. But communication in english is really so so You can go for consultation and see how you you feel.
indo28 Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Dont worry DR.Cho from Able Clinic can speak fluent english
