My plastic surgery with Dream Medical Group

Recommended Posts

Hi, thanks for the advice. I was also warned by my friend too. I guess to avoid any unhappiness that may happen, I will change to go there personally and consult the doctor. Is ok to do a walk in for consultation or with an appointment made earlier will be better? If so, how do I go about? (Just to be sure as the hospital I was looking at wanted me to put deposit in order to secure an appointment).

o god what clinic was this that wanted u to put a deposit for a mere consultation? Strike them off right away. That's just shadey business. And u should make an appointment before hand. if ure flying all the way down there why would you risk the clinic being too busy and not being able to have your appointment in a timely manner right?

Hi K, thanks for the reminder not to put deposit first.. Seriously, the deposit is at 50% and the sum of money is pretty huge sum. (To Me) I'm sorry that I think I shouldn't disclose the hospital so it will not be blacklisted just because of my situation. I had already drop an email to Dream and banobagi to get an consultation over there. Hope next week or so I can get a reply from them. Is this the normal procedure to get an appointment?

Also, is there anyone out there going to Korea next year Match end? This is my plan. Will be nice if I can meet peoples who will be there at the same time.

Heya I just went about it and got myself a consultation booked with dream and a few other clinic.

I just sent them an email: Hi I would like to book a consultation: date time. I am interested in meeting Dr... And I would prefer it if Ms Lee is my consultation. This way they know you're serious about it AND it'd be easier so they can have a detailed information of your consultation requirement. Research for each clinic who is the person you want to meet for what specialisation. This is important (to me at least) because I know that once I get there nothing is confused and there will be no misunderstanding.

I usually attach my flight details (leaving out important person details of course) as well but that's up to you...I think because of this, I've always gotten the person I requested and they reply a lot more promptly. Dream will reply with a few questions (like 6) for you to fill out like name, any procedures in the past, what you would like to fix/change etc. Then they will email you back with confirmed consultation booking time and date!

Been the same process for every one of my bookings and it's worked fine

Hi vanitygirl09, I've met with both Daphne and Unji before, they are both really sweet! I've heard people on tpf calling them consultants, but I think they are more like English-speaking customer service officers in that they help you arrange meetings with the surgeon, take you around the clinic, help you get things you need (e.g. drinks/food) -but they don't actually quote price.

I personally don't really think it matters which customer service person helps you out on that day (as they don't quote price, and they are both equally nice). What's more important is that the surgeon you want to work with is available that day -you definitely want to meet the person who will be operating on you, so you can question them about their methods, recommendations etc.

It doesn't really make sense to postpone your consults based on the available customer service person. Get your consults done as soon as possible, to leave you as much healing time as possible, especially if you're traveling to Seoul just for surgery,

Good luck with your consults and surgery!!!

well the problem with the diced cartilage method is in the irregularity in the shape, absorption of the cartilage AND the fascia. If the fascia has resorped to a certain extent the irregularities from the diced cartilage will be visible on the bridge area. You can end up with bumps and humps and asymmetry very easily which is what happened to me when I use that method for my second rhinoplasty.

Dr Park's method uses fat graft instead of fascia. I don't really know the difference or the absorption rate as I have never had this procedure performed. I can only guess that the fg acts as both a seal for the diced cartilage and as a volume optimizer. Have you seen what your fats actually look like when removed? Its like a putty. So imagine the diced cartilage being mixed into the putty and administered into your bridge. It does sound like a viable method but I feel Dr Park prefers to use the ultra soft due to its structural superiority and longevity. Anything to do with fg has some degree of unpredictability. The diced cartilage too. From what wishingstar has said it seems to be an alternative for those who opt out of using ultra soft silicone and feel more comfortable using an autologous implant.

Yeah haha will just miss you in Seoul. Im arriving 3rd week Oct. Not doing any surgery tho. Im actually there on business and at the same time my friend is getting her eyes and eyebag done at Dream so I'm going to help her out cos its her first time and she is super nervous. She is also deciding between incisional and non incisional for eyes so if anyone here has done eyes at Dream with either Dr Yoo or Dr Park for non incisional, your opinion would be very helpful. I'd normally tell her to use incisional method because i've had it done before and know what to expect. However seeing as Dr Park specializes in non incisional and is skilled in less invasive methods like he does with the closed rhino, I'd like to keep an open mind.

I think I maybe giving wrong details in the email. What I had in my email is my previous surgery details, why I am coming for the revision and I did request which doctor that I want to make a consultation. But i actually didn't state the date I wanted and the traveling details. I shall wait for their reply before I try to contact them again. Thanks for the information again.

Vanitygirl! I'm having trouble PM-ing you back to answer your questions, kakao me with your questions (kakao ID: lanvinfiend) and I'm happy to answer

K, re: incisional vs non-incisional. I was told that non-incisional's risk of coming undone is quite overstated, and that the percentage of revisions due to stitches coming loose is very very low (<1%, if I don't recall wrongly). The downtime is very minimal (even for those of us who are not Wolverine).

However, I also heard from other sources (i.e. other doctors) that incisional is better for significant corrections (e.g. where ptosis is not minor, where there is significant asymmetry, or where one requires significant increase in eyelid height).

I haven't done any eye procedures so I can't comment based on past experience, but it seems like one of those procedures where there's little consensus. Keep us updated on what your friend chooses to do!

thanks for the info my dear. Yeah ill update on how her eyes went. I think also for non incisional if there's alot of fatty tissue that requires excising then the procedure would not be ideal? I think? As i said i dunno much about the non incisional. But will be interesting for Dr Park to explain how he performs it.

Hi Everyone:
I like this community trying to share information and help each other. I am planning to go in November. A friend suggested ITEM, but their price is much higher than I expected. how much does it cost for an eyelid surgery at DREAM?
in addition, they also asked for deposit while I am still in US.
Thanks in advance.

Hi valerie, i believe for "surgery appointment" is required. But for "consultation appointment" not required. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Miss K maiden: yes I've been told that eyelids which require a significant amount of fat excision may not be suitable for non-incisional. However, what is classified a fatty eyelid can be subjective. I didn't ask too much about how much fat one needs to be considered as having fatty eyelids cos my eyelid skin tends towards thin.

Feryn, agreed. Consults should NOT require deposits. Surgery appointments can sometimes require deposits (if there's a particular time slot on a specific day you want), but you should definitely do a full consult (free of charge, no deposits) before you consider doing any Surgery at all. Anyway, some surgeons are popular, yes, but its unlikely they'll be so fully booked that you won't be able to secure a surgery slot should you want one.
