tralynn Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Hi. I had my first chin implant at 28. It was a small implant and was crooked. I had same dr fix it two times...then just lived with it until I was 30 and replaced it with a longer implant. Well....this one is also crooked. As I have aged, my face has thinned so it much more noticeable now. So, at 41 I'm wanting to remove it. I can't really find any images or info on people that have had a chin implant for a long time and removed it. If your out there....would love some advise.
dallas101 Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 I know.....I am the same age as yours and my skin has thinned out too. If I were you I would just remove it and do fat graft on the chin.
paxsky Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 I'm not an expert, but it seems that if you want a permanent fix and fix the "structure" and you don't mind something more invasive, sliding genioplasty may be an option?
k-couture Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Assuming its not a ridiculously oversized implant like catlady's (jocelyn wilderstein or whatever her name is), then there is no need to be replace it unless you want to. And no it won't look weird either because the implant hasn't stretched or damaged your tissue to an irreversible state.
dor3mi Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 This is what I'm trying to do. I'm thinking to get chin augmentation to achieve a more v line shape. I don't want to get invasive surgery but maybe I should reconsider it....I would be extremely happy if fat graft can be use for chin but I heard the result doesn't last long...I don't want to always have to come back for touchup surgery either...sigh..
dor3mi Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Congrats! How was your surgery? I really want the V-line too but is afraid of the jaw surgery? Do you mind sharing where you got yours done and experience? Glad to know your mom fat graft is looking beautiful! Thanks
daytona289 Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Hi blackwidow88, Wish u a speedy recover and get the look u wish to have. I'd chin implant last nov that leaded me with more sagging skin at the chin area. Not sure if it's due to the chin implant but i'm gg for a lift this oct.
daytona289 Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 yes, a bit of skin sagging before the chin implant and after implant it's more obvious. I'm planning to do lipo on my double chin and follow by a facelift or v-line to get rid of the excess skin and fat graft. hope this is the right way to go..
dor3mi Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 Glad to know that your surgery went well! Do you still have a lot of swelling? Do you mind sharing b/a photo? May I ask if you were able to negotiate with TLPS on the pricing? Thanks!
carole11x Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Hi, After your surgery, do you have scar left on my face or chin????
larojibalnca Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 I just got mine done last night. The incision is usually on the jn side of the mouth so no external scar
carole11x Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Thank you, larojibalnca! By the way, which clinic/doctor did you go to? Where did you stay/which hotel would you recommend to stay for surgery like this in Korea? Thanks again!
anna85 Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Hi dear, Could you tell me if your mother's fat graft worked well on her? How long was her chin swollen? I'm considering fat grafting to get a more pointy chin too, but I'm wondering if it's Worth because it doesn't last so long.
anna85 Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 sliding genioplasty is even more invasive than implant! If the surgeon screwed up your chin, there'd be no way to get it fixed!
