Hi girls, im chinese indonesian living in singapore. I plan to go korea for surgery this coming october. I was thinking of having it done with dr kim from BK Dongyang. I am so confused reading all the comments. I met Dr Kim in indonesia for a quick consultation. I am considering rhinoplasty revision ( the first one was done by another surgeon. The result is so so. I want my nose to be thinner and have a smaller tip). I also wanted to have my scar on my chin re-stitched. Dr Kim said it requires z plasty and didnt understand why the previous surgeon didnt do z plasty in the first place. Dr Kim seemed competant and i was quite confident until i read all the mixed reviews. Anyone has anything new to share since the last post? Good and bad feedback are welcome. Wd be really helpful to get some insight re Dr Kim's ability, his guest house and what facilities are provided, post op care etc. Anyone anything? Thank youuuu

I have double-eyelids but my eyelids now are drooping. I am not sure of any good doctor. Has anyone done blepharoplasty by dr kim byung gun at BK? Can anyone provide more info please. Tks.

I emailed Dr. Charles Lee in California for an eye revision and he said he doesn't do a revision. I'm sort of between Banobagi and Bano Eye Clinic. Anyone heard anything about those two. I hear about 2 bad reviews against Dr. Cho at Bano Eye Clinic but not Banobagi.

Sorry, I don't hear anything much about Dr. Cho there at Bano Eye clinic. I heard he specialized in eye revision and his price is much higher than other places. He does only eyes. People don't say anything much about him except for one. I have a revision done last Oct, but better ....... but still not what I wanted. It correct one problem but cause something else. I'm still researching girl. Good Luck.

Dear girls, I went to Seoul last April for my eyelid revision surgery. I had the following problems with my previous double eyelid surgery with Dr. Charles Lee in Los Angeles:
1) Dr. Charles Lee made my folds too high and too round shaped that they didn't look natural to my face
2) Folds were too deep and they caused ECTROPION (the inner eyelids are turned out and don't look good)
3) Asymmetric folds

Even though Dr. Charles Lee tried revision surgeries, he couldn't fix the problems. In fact, I became worse off as too many operated eyes become much more difficult for future revisions.

With this desperation and problems that was caused by incompetent, poorly skilled Dr. Charles Lee, I went to Seoul to solve my problems with the eyelid revisions. I consulted with several doctors and I learned from talking to them that eye revisions require special skills, and not all doctors (even those who could do double eyelids first time) can perform the revisions. Revisions require doctors who specialize in it and is good at it.

Here is some notes I made about some doctors regarding eye revisions:
1) Dr. Byun Gun Kim at BK - He told me straight out that he could not fix my "too deep folds and ectropion issues". He also said he could not fix asymmetry that well and I should expect asymmetry even after the revision. He could only lower my folds. Since he was not that skilled, I opted for other doctors. His rate was the lowest which is somewhat reflects and fair for his incompetency - $2500

2) Dr. Jyoung at Banobagi - He basically said he could lower my folds and also do something extra - ptosis correction. The issue here is that I do not have ptosis. It was his thing to do ptosis corrections even if patients don't have that much issue with it just for the sake of big eye effect, except I didn't want big eyes. I wanted smaller folds and fix my other problems. He didn't say anything about ectropion, deep folds so I pretty much crossed him out from my list. His rate $3200

3) VIP Clinic - Dr. Lee here is well known for nose and nose revisions, not so much for eye revisions.

4) Dr. Cho at Bando Eye Clinic - he specializes in eye and eye revisions only. He is very well regarded in many Korean websites (my Korean friends checked him out for me) for his eye revision works. He is the most expensive though. However, I was looking for solve all my problems, not bargain hunting for fixing only half of the problems. So, I chose Dr. Cho for my eye revisions. It has been a week since my eyelid revision surgery, and I can already tell that my problems are fixed - my folds are smaller (even though I have swollen eyes, I could just tell with a smile), folds are shallow and look more natural, my ectropion issue looks much better now, and my asymmetry looks fixed. I am HAPPY about my results so far. I know that from now on, my eyes will look even better and more natural.

I know that there are so many girls out there (maybe victims of Dr. Charles Lee whom I think he should stop operating on girls and mutilating their faces with mediocre and half baked jobs) who are wondering about eye revisions. Here are my experiences and I wanted to share this with you. I had the same agony and the problem of not knowing the Korean language and the best doctors in Seoul. However, I have now fixed my problems with the help of good doctor, and I highly recommend him to the girls who are looking to fix "all of your eye revision problems" and would not compromise with "half revisions" with other doctors like BK's Dr. Kim or others.

I got really nervous at this and Chloe was calming me down. She then took me to meet Dr. Hong directly and he gave me a very thorough explaination after asking me to examine myself in the mirror. He said my jaw was asymmetrical (which I agreed), that I had excess buccal fat that caused my 'chipmunk' cheeks and my bone contouring was overly large. My chin was also depressed and short. While Dr.Hong was explaining in Korean, Chloe translated everything and she also voiced all my concerns.
Although Dr.Hong did not speak English, he wrote everything in English and even drew diagrams. He explained that a more natural look was needed and that he would cut my bone structure in a more curvacious manner to get that look. This would make it fairly smaller. Overall the price of the surgery was $5000USD but he also said he'd do buccal-fat removal for free and take the excess and do fat grafting on my chin and noseible folds to make me look more rejuvenated.
The 3 procedures of buccal-fat removal and fat grafting should've at least cost an extra $3000+. He told me surgery would take 45mins-1 hr of completion and I would undergo general anthesia. Before the consultation I was about to not do the surgery since I was afraid of the swelling, but I knew if I didn't I would hate myself for it since I came all the way. After the consultation I was taken by Chloe to do blood tests and xrays.

I went in for surgery an hour later and blacked out after 3 seconds of anethsia. When I woke up I was all bandaged, swollen and wheeled to the patient rooms. I slept for a while and had two ice packs covering my face and two around my neck. I actually had a lot more energy than someone who came out of surgery should, I woke up a couple hours later and iced my face the whole night. My lips were swelled up and bruised. The nurses were very caring towards me, every few hours they took me to rinse my mouth and got my water when I needed it. The night nurse was especially kind and she swabbed my mouth. They gave me a LOT of IV's which was probably why I had so much energy to wander back and fourth between the washroom and hallways.
I spent the next day icing until I got to leave. Dr. Hong saw me again before I got discharged and said that my surgery was a success. The manager took me to the pharmacy before heading back to the guesthouse to get antibotics.

According to both Dr.Hong and the manager, comparing to alot of other patients (and those who've I've seen on Banobagi website) my swelling was minimal; I was not balloon-shaped like other patients. Infact, the day after my surgery, I had enough energy to go shopping with another patient-friend I made at thee guesthouse. I stuck very strictly to the rules of no dairy, meds after liquid meals, slept upright to elevate myself and iced non-stop. Swelling worsened a bit on the 2nd day but after that it died down and my lips were back to normal. I only took off my headpiece the night before I was due to leave to wash my hair.

On the 27th I was headed back to Toronto, Canada. My parents didn't know I had surgery; I was able to get away with my swelling since I was covered in a scarf and hoodie. Honestly after a week from Seoul, my major swelling had gone down and my parent's couldn't tell I had done anything to my face. After 3 weeks (from surgery date) I stopped wearing the headpiece alltogether. After 1-2 months my face slimmed down and finally took shape. I couldn't eat much the first two weeks after surgery (barely could open my mouth) and the inside of my gums felt very stiff. Certain parts near my chin felt numb and firm (due to the injected fat).

Looking at my results now, my mother says my faced has slimmed down and lost weight. I am satisfied with the results although I wouldn't have minded if the shape was a little slimmer. I look natural for sure. It's regrettable that fat grafting doesn't last that long since my chin is more or less back to as it was before.

Do I think BK is as horrible as they say? No, definatly not. Is it the best? I don't think so either. I haven't experienced Dr.Kim but my friend who also had the same surgery got it done by him and she wasn't happy with her results. I suspect she wasn't healing properly on her part because she had her surgery two weeks before I did but she was still more swollen than me by the time we left...either way, I don't regret going to BK. I've seen better 'afters', I've also seen worse. Next time I would like to get rhino but I'm thinking of Banobagi since their reviews amaze me. Hope this helped~!

I had my cheekbone reduction and v-line surgery by Dr. Hong at BK, too !!
It's so happy to see someone who also had surgery from him. hehe
It has been almost 3 months for me. I had rhino. cheekbone reduction, and v-line surgery at the same time. I didn't have a lot of swelling either. I heard if there was not much bleeding during surgery, you don't really swell up a lot.
He must be really good at bone surgery.
Anyway, good to hear your testimonies !!

Hey you did your surgery? What did u do? I am planning to go BK too for eyes and vline. I plan to do it with Dr Hong. However I'm not sure if Dr hong is good with eyes.
