doloreslolita Posted July 9, 2014 Share Posted July 9, 2014 Hello all PFs, I am currently in Korea. I have been stalking around the forum but have not been posting much so please pardon me. My main purpose of this trip was to get my bulbous nose tip done and raise up the bridge area. I visited a number of clinics but there were mainly two clinics that left me a good and professional impression. I researched quite a lot and found that korea's best nose doctors are dr park of dream and dr Kim of april31, so I am going to review the both below. Other clinics I visited don't matter as I wanted a real nose specialist to have my nose done. Dream clinic Dream clinic has a really nice ambience and almost all its staffs have beautiful skin with no flaws(and I heard they have a good skin clinic too!). I saw that there were many Chinese patients(as well as a few locals) and it was quite a busy clinic. Waiting time was quite long. I waited almost an hour before I could see the consultant. My translator Daphne (who is wayy gorgeous) had been very kindly explaining things about dream to me while i wait. When it was my turn, the consultant showed me her before and after photos - she had done nose and cheekbones surgery. She looked quite different to me in a prettier way. However her nose was still bulbous to my liking and when I asked her if I needed vline she said I could. But that didn't stop me from being interested in dream because of the closed rhinoplasty methods that I was keen in. Then I was brought out to the seating area and waited about 10 minutes before seeing dr park. I was brought upstairs at the operating theatre where dr park's office was. Dr park is honestly quite friendly, when he talked to me he had just finished an operation but he still remained very keen in explaining what I needed. Dream has like four doctors who operate on noses and a few other who are specialists in their own areas. I then left dream and went to april31 after quite a long stay in dream April 31 When I went to april31, there were quite a number of locals and Chinese. I was quite amazed when I entered the clinic and all the staffs at the reception stood up to welcome me. It was a warm welcome to be honest lol. I went to proceed with my translator Brian(who has an incredible sense of humor and genuinely helpful) and a consultant. The consultant has an amazingly pretty nose and she told me she had done hers at April 31. I heard that there were famous celebs who did their noses with Dr Kim but from what I see he does not like to advertise and brag about himself having done their noses. Humble man I would say. Additionally I was told that dr Kim makes noses that patients can do piggy noses afterwards (even though I wouldn't dare to after my surgery). I researched well enough to know that local Koreans, especially those with post op nose problems eg contracture go to Dr Kim for revision and would never need another op. Back to the consultation with the consultant, she told me that I would not need other surgeries other than nose and she would not recommend me to go through additional and redundant surgeries. I felt that April 31 was honest with me in this and I felt that they weren't out there to get my money for extra procedures. I consulted with Dr Kim and had a good gut feeling with him. I went back to talk to the consultant and Brian, and they showed me pictures of Dr Kim's works and I was impressed, there were obvious changes to the nose in comparison to dream. I went home afterwards to give a thought about these two clinics. I was quite in a dilemma tbh because I really liked both doctors. april31 is more expensive than Dream is. That was one of my considerations but I felt that what you pay is what you get (through a handful of past experiences lol). No doubt, dr park of dream is skilled I believe, but the changes are quite small. On the other hand, april31 has obvious changes in a good way. I mean, after all, you are paying money to see changes right? After few days of considering, I decided to go with my heart with April 31. I had my surgery yesterday which I will talk about in the next posts in detail. Oh and if you are coming to Korea, definitely check out the Gwangjang market it's amazing! Im interested to know what was the method used to perform your rhino? I really appreciate the kind words Don't thank me for sharing, it's my responsibility to give back to this helpful community. Well this is my primary, and I got ultra soft silicone. Please only go for ultra soft silicone as this is the best material right now in the market (dream and april31 have this). In terms of price I paid quite a sum, but dr Kim is the President of Korean rhinoplastic club. I decided to invest in my money to this clinic because I cannot afford my nose destroyed and revised again. Just imagine buying a cheap shoe from a cheap manufacturer and then falling down only to pay much more for medical bills? Investing into april31 is like buying an expensive Chanel bag(no intentional pun here purseblog!) but one that is sturdy, aesthetically beautiful and functional... I think the websites are april31.com and the blog http://koreanplastisurgery.blogspot.kr hope I'm not wrong. I'll update the day of my surgery and etcetera when I'm less tired... dreamsharer Posted July 10, 2014 Share Posted July 10, 2014 I went April31 in June , their quotation is absurd and totally out of market. I was quote 6 mil for primary rhinoplasty and my friend 13 mil for revision, 9 mil for forehead lift. No doubt their doctors seem good, that why I went back for second consultation, only to offered 1 mil discount from the 15mil quotation for these two procedure.It's a total waste of time for me and them when they quote totally out of market, hope they can be more realistic about their pricing. I did my nose and forehead lift at exactly half the price at JW. I love my nose and Dr Suh did a beautiful job. Brian can be contacted on the website thru the chatbox, ask him for an estimated quote before deciding going to the clinic,I believe most of is have a budget. I just don't want you to waste precious time like what I and my friend went through.If the clinic is out of your budget, look elsewhere, there is no short of good clinic and doctors around. dreamsharer Posted July 11, 2014 Share Posted July 11, 2014 To be fair, barring the high price, consultation at April31 is most delightful and insightful of all the consultations I went to. The doctors are very patient and detailed in their explanations. The nose doctor is remarkable, he is able to see serious deviation in my septum while my nose actually look perfectly straight. My friend who was with me has a crooked nose and yet he said her case wasn't as serious. True enough, I suffer nose stuffiness all the time as her case was much milder compared to mine. None of the doctors I went to pointed out my problem just by looking at my nose. The facelift doctor is even cuter, he is so engaging, he took pains explaining why forehead lift was not good enough for my friend and he is very honest to warp her expectation while other doctors never give this true picture. He examined our face very thoroughly and spend a long time with us. We were so impressed. But alas, the pricing is so steep. I would love going there for facelift if my budget allows. The consultant is beautiful and she is not pushy. She is able to understand most of our concerns well. That is I said the visit is a delightful experience. My first post seem abit too harsh so I need to clarify april31 is not that bad, I shouldn't give others the wrong impression after the time they spent dedicating to my consultation. I appreciate their time given. Only don't understand why they can spend so much time but yet did not offer much room for price neogtiation. I have reviewed teuim as well in the teuim thread too. I'll get back there too. Honestly, it's up to you people. I have done enough and more than enough research to know dr park and dr kim are the best. So it's entirely up to you people I don't even have to care because I don't benefit from talking this much. Well whatever I said well about these 3 clinics... They should already be paying me for reviewing and at the same time being insulted! Dream and April31 are expensive but well worth it. You should read Kcouture's thread too she does an excellent review of dream which made me visit dream and TBH I rly liked dream.
