bratty1919 Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 On Halloween, I dressed up as a fortuneteller, complete with an "evil eye" on my forehead. Unfortunately, that eye was a pendant that I (on the advice of someone I thought I could trust) used rubber cement to glue to my forehead. It didn't hurt, but that evening when I took everything off, there was a red spot where the eye had been. According to my research, I have a chemical burn from the rubber cement (see attached photo). My question: if anyone has or knows of a similar situation - how can I get rid of this mark? Thanks!
bratty1919 Posted November 2, 2014 Author Posted November 2, 2014 Hmm..the picture isn't uploading. The burn is bright red and about 1/4" by 3/8"
milkychoco Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 put fresh Aloe vera gel or manuka honey. that should heal it well. if it's severe seek professional help
bratty1919 Posted November 2, 2014 Author Posted November 2, 2014 That's why I posted here - how do I know if it's bad enough to warrant professional help?
basch Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Post a picture or an image link here if you really want an opinion. It's just not possible to imagine the extent of the burn from your description.
yky Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Not to sound uncaring but if you are having to ask if you need professional help on the forums over going straight to your local gp its no big deal. If it were reallly bad and you were in pain you would rush to one right away right? I'm sure you will heal in no time
missfrosty Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 I've had a small chemical burn from real cement and it healed by itself although it remained red for a while after healing
