I'm planning to do the v-line and possibly the zygoma in August 2015. I'm afraid that the result would be subtle because of my chubby face. Is it better to lose some pounds before the surgery? I heard that it is difficult to eat after the v-line. Does it mean that I will lose some weight eventually?
I need help!

I read about this topic on newspaper before,
Normally, surgeon suggest you have surgery after diet. because of skin drooping i think :S

I wouldn't think it would matter very much. There's a difference between fat in the face and your underlying structure plus soft tissue and muscles. I would rather get the v-line and cheek reduction first and then get microlipo or rearrange the soft tissue around if you need it since dieting only takes whatever fat is there rather than being able to take it from static areas of choice. But hey, if you wanna lose fat first, go for it.

its common for people to do acculift along with their facial bone contourting to maximise results. I think that's the better option because depending on your body, you may not lose weight in the face simply by dieting. I know when I lose weight the area that historically remained unchanged was my face. I don't have the issue of fatty tissue on my face anymore tho as I had 2 buccal fat removal and acculift. I had these procedures after my jaw reduction

you would have to do plenty of cardio but it still won't guarantee that youll lose fat in the face.

You might only lose it in your legs or thighs. It depends on your body type.

I lost 15 lbs and still had fat on my face.

For V-line I think it would be great to loose a bit of weight before the surgery. For me personally, when I loose weight my jaw line sticks out a bit and is prominent. I would like to surgeon to see this and take it into account so when I loose weight after surgery I don't have crazy pointy jaw.
I have a theory for fat grafting thou based on these facts:
1. People do not grow any more fat cells in their life. If you gain weight the actual cells just engorge and get larger. The number of cells does not change.
2. Soooo if you get a fat graft it would make sense to want the most densely clustered number of cells to be transplanted so increase survival. So it makes sense to loose weight so the number of cells per area are a lot of small cells vs a few really fat cells. I plan to try to loose a bit before surgery but I am afraid that with the surgery I won't be able to eat and will loose more. This is great for v-line but not so great for fat graft survival.
Just my thoughts

yes you will lose some pound again eventually after surgery but in case IF you are in overweight now it and you still have plenty of time for diet and exercises before your surgery date, then yes definitely better to lose weight before surgery. it would be maximise the result. consider mesotherapy ppc injection if needed
