chlak5 Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Hi Guys, I'm looking to go to Teuim for my eyes so I can get my revision, lateral, and epicanthoplasty. I would also like to get full fat graft done. I'm not quite sure if Teuim with Dr. Kwon is the place to go but I'm not sure of other places either and hopefully I can get discounts if I do multiple procedures at once. Chime in if you can but I would like to get a full fat graft including my temples, cheeks, forehead, chin etc. your usual places (I'm not sure how many areas, can somebody list it?) 1) I would also like to get fat graft on my nose including bridge and to make my nose larger and masculine overall. I'm not quite sure if I want traditional rhinoplasty as I like my nose but just want them to be fuller and bigger, not necessarily the shape) 2) Is there actual difference between Stem Cell Fat Graft and Regular Fat Graft? I would like to last as long as possible but I hear Stem Cell is much more expensive. So does Dr. Kwon even do Stem Cell? Or do you think it's just marketing. Because I hear some clinics offer 2nd Time Free Touch Up like Regen. 3) Lastly, love bands. I hear love bands with fat graft is definitely a procedure, but I hear alloderm is permanent, while of course, fat graft is semi permanent. And I was wondering if alloderm can be used for tiplasty as well. Thanks guys!
noitsyou Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Fat transfer is relatively new and there aren't enough studies to show that prp or stem cell fat transfer are better than regular fat transfer. Artificial material in the tip is a big no no. I am considering fat graft on my bridge at Teuim and other clinics as well. Most clinics offer dermofat as an autologous option.
chlak5 Posted December 23, 2014 Author Posted December 23, 2014 What's the difference between dermotfat and fat graft? Do you have kakao?
noitsyou Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Dermo fat is from your butt crack. Fat graft is from common lipo areas.
ddalgi Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 I don't know why I thought that was funny but, LOL... butt crack fat for under your eyes.
noitsyou Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 I'm all for dermofat if it's better than regular fat but I'm worried about having a weird looking butt crack afterwards.
noitsyou Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 Dermofat or dermis fat graft is supposed to be more permanent as there is a layer of skin too. "Secondary fat injections were more often in fat injection group than dermofat graft group.- Koreamed abstract
chlak5 Posted December 26, 2014 Author Posted December 26, 2014 Thanks. So can you request your surgeon which fat to use or do they ask you beforehand? Definitely would like to go with dermal if it's alright. Do you know if Dr. Kwon will do this as I'm looking to get my eyes done there first place.
noitsyou Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 Well dermofat is listed as an autologous option on Teium's website so I presume he will be able to. The only question is whether they charge more or less for this compared to silicone.
chlak5 Posted December 29, 2014 Author Posted December 29, 2014 What does the autologous option mean? I would like to get full face fat graft with dermo fat now I learned it lasts longer, and now I finally know that Stem VS Regular means nothing really. But, I'm kind of scared to have a nose job as I do like my nose but I wish it was just fuller and the bridge is higher. I hope fat grafting injection on nose can help with this. So by autoglous option, does that mean he opens up my nose and stuff like traditional rhinoplasty?
noitsyou Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Autologous options are materials from your own body like fat, fascia and cartilage. Dermofat and fat are only for small increases in height. So if you want a big increase, the more suitable autologous option is rib.
chlak5 Posted December 29, 2014 Author Posted December 29, 2014 Ok. I just want a small increase so I guess I would need to just go purely for dermofat and fat. I would like to see the result first like that before deciding on rhinoplasty which can wait. Do you know if doctors usually put dermofat on nose bridge and stuff? Many websites tell you where fat can be injected and they say nose is an option as well. But, I wasn't able to find that on Teuim so I'm a little bummed although I haven't asked yet. And I would also like to get love band, and I hear with alloderm it's like a surgery right? They open up and put the liquid in there rather than just injecting it. But i also did hear fat graft can be used for love band as well and my guess is that they just inject it with syringe. I wonder why alloderm is different like that. Lastly, I don't know but this will be my second double eyelid surgery as well. The result was definitely not terrible but I'm not satisfied. My left eye is loose compared to my right which makes a weird contrast. Plus I need epi and lateral as well. This is why I wanted to go to Teuim since they said they are best, but do you think this is just false information? Do you have any recommendation which doctors I should see for revision? Gosh, sorry for the long post.
chlak5 Posted January 1, 2015 Author Posted January 1, 2015 Sorry to bother you but can you share some insight on this? And I know that there is no difference between Regular fat graft and stem cell fat graft but hows bout Fat Grafting with PRP? What is that and do clinics do this?
alanaf Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Prp they do something to your blood and then put it together with the fat graft. I think it maybe will cost only a little extra since it's just adding blood
