jusscurious Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 I've been thinking - and maybe that's not enough - about skin sagging from jaw surgeries and surgeries alike where bone gets removed for a smaller/slimmer face etc. I've not had any surgeries myself (yet), but hopefully you guys might know a thing or two about this particular subject? I mean, I've seen many B&A pictures of people who look absolutely fine, but still I wonder in the long term. Say one side of your jaw is much bigger than the other half (asymmetrical), the surgery you had was to reduce that much bigger side to the same size as the smaller side. Will the surgeon then remove the excess skin too when the surgery is being performed? Sorry if this is a stupid question, I just can't seem to find anybody talking about this, maybe there's a reason why haha!
shinenim Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 I think one of the most important thing to take note is NOT TO BE LAZY. Listen to your consultant and be a good patient. Wear your head gear after surgery and that will prevent sagging skin. If you think its ugly and uncomfortable and choose not to wear it, then there will be a high possibility that your skin will sag. They make you buy that for a reason, no? My room mate did the surgery and it is post opt 3rd months now. She looks fine (from pictures) haha!
jusscurious Posted December 30, 2014 Author Posted December 30, 2014 Wait what? Headgear?? I know that there's bandaging involved post surgery but, I'll be sure to be a good patient aha. So this headgear, they give you this as aftercare, but we have to buy it even though we payed for the surgery?
shinenim Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Yea, that bandage thingy is call a headgear (I could be wrong) hahaha! But usually that is not included in the surgery. My friend paid additional for it but if it is included then your surgery should be of slightly higher price?
