Where to buy Arnica and Bromelain in Seoul

Recommended Posts

Hi guys!

Does anyone know where to buy Arnica or Bromelain in Seoul? I'm heading to seoul in 2 days to take care of my mum for her facelift and I told her to prepare these products but she left it till the last minute (as usual :S). So if anyone knows if there's a pharmacy or store preferably in Gangnam around Apujeong that would be really helpful

thanks in advance guys xx

OMG I just went through this exact same thing. I literally went to the GNC stands at the malls there but they do not have bromelin or arnica. Noone has even heard of these 2 things, at pharmacies or organic health food markets. I finally was able to get it because one of my friends lives on an Army base in korea and got it for me from his GNC. So unless you know anyone in the US Army, buy it before you go to Korea. Trust me-- I went through a huge hassle trying to get it

There's a pharmacy in sinsa right beside the infamous BK plastic surgery clinic and connected to a coffee shop (starbucks I think), and they sell arnica or bromelain, not sure which one, but it comes in a kit with creams and pills. Quite expensive though, maybe about W50,000 ~ W60,000 and I think it's imported.

  • 3 weeks later...
Hi KC - it must be about 20 days plus since your mum had her facelift at Dream. Does she love it. Did it really turn back the clock? Please tell as they do not have any before and afters on their site and I am only going by your testimony that you saw a patient who fooled you with her youthful looks post fl.
Thanks

Nope not 20 days. She is about 2 weeks post op. Still swollen but its not severe at all. It seems with the smas lift and the neck lift you don't really balloon up like you would if you do bone contouring. I remembered looking like a chipmunk when I had my midface lift years ago and a monster when I just had my mandible reduction. She definitely looks 15 years younger at the moment. Her face is tight looking but that will return to normal in the following weeks once superficial swelling subsides (superficial swelling takes longer for lifts and facial bone contouring). I am able to tell it was really well done tho. You can barely see her previously deep naso folds anymore! It was a long surgery because she chose to do face and neck at the same time. And Dr Jo was extremely detailed to the nook and cranny.

Like what he did with my omega lift, he used a ruler and wrote measurements on her face and drew so many lines using a marker. After she came out of surgery I was so worried because she looked so weak from the general anesthesia. For older people it really takes more of a toll on their body. My mama in her 60s in case you're wondering. But couple hours later she was playing some tetris type game on her ipad. Tho she kept complaining her feet were cold the first night.

The only issue she had was alot of sebum (gross white stuff) coming out of her back ear where the incision was made. Different people react differently and I am assuming its because my mum eats lots of crap. Dr Jo suggested a no oil, salad only diet for her for 5 days which really helped until day 3 where I caught her with munching on fried mandu in the hotel room. She even had some baked croissants stashed in the fridge :S. The next day her sebum appeared again so we went back to the hospital to get it cleaned.

Dr Jo had actually suggested her to stay in Seoul longer because she just did a big surgery but she wanted to stop by Hong Kong to go shopping. THENNNN SHE GOT AN INFECTION IN HONG KONG! I don't know what she was doing but I know what she was eating. She went to this bakery and had croissants and cheesecakes plus Hong Kong is not exactly the most sanitary place.......So she had to fly back on a Sunday but Monday was a public holiday so the clinic was closed. Luckily Dr Jo was kind enough to arrange for her to be at the clinic on his day off just to make sure she is ok. She is perfectly fine now but moral of the story is......listen to your surgeon, especially when having long invasive surgeries.
