nestlee Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 I'm planning to get double eyelid surgery soon and was wondering what people have used to minimize scarring. I've heard about Kelo-Cote gel and was interested in silicone sheets. Thanks!
popcorndreams Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 I would like to know too! Has anyone used kelo cote? How effective is it?
alytrn Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 Try bio-oil. It works really good on scars and stretch marks
hj88 Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 Yeah I don't know about bio-oil on eyelids but I got an awful scar on my hand (about 4cm) that I burnt on a piping hot Korean stone bowl and I put bio oil 3 times a day from the minute it closed over and it is completely gone now! That scar was going to be awful too
luzie Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 I went for mole removal early this year and finished the small bottle of bio oil which is extremely greasy when applied and worst, it didn't work on my scars. Kelo cote will be more suitable on keloids (raised scar) and I think it may work on surgical scars as well. I've ordered it online and will review it once I tested it on my scars. Maybe you should consult your surgeon if kelo cote is effective or ask if is there any alternatives.
k-couture Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 i used kelocote and kenacort scar dissolving injections. Mine was incisional tho. Non incisional some ppl get slight bumpness where the threads are. A steroid injection alleviates this problem. good luck on your surgery x
wishingstar Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 What kind of kelocote did you guys get? The regular tube of gel or the silicon sheets kelocote kind?
k-couture Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 mine was gel. I never seen the silicone sheets before
