sunshinehot Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Hello, everyone!!! I'm 20yrs old and i'm really new to PS. So any help would be great! I've been lurking the forums for a couple of months now and doing a lot of research. I have read K Couture's guide which was really informing. I have some questions that I haven't been able to find. So if anyone could answer them that'd be wonderful! Also I plan on going to Korea in September, is anyone else going then? I would love to go with someone. I'm thinking about getting a Nose job, full face fat graft, Ptotis Correction, Lip injections, Zygoma reduction, facial contour, v-line. So here are my questions" 1. What is exactly is Facial contour and how is it different from V-line? 2. I have a huge/long nose with a hump and a bulbous tip, i'm wanting a much smaller nose overall. I was consulting with one clinic and they suggested putting a silicone implant in my nose. I really see no need for a silicone implant; I mean wouldn't that give me a bigger/higher nose bridge? 3. I have sunken eye holes, I guess that's what you would call it. Was told fat graft would help fix it, but I've read where people have gone blind from getting injections there, so I can't help but be concerned. How risky is it, and is it worth taking the chance? 4. My lips are quite small, and I was recommended since I was getting fat graft to get them injected also with it. I know Fat graft isn't permanent only a percentage of it stays on the face, but what about on the lips. What is the chance of survival there? 5. I have really bad skin, and enlarged pores. I was wanting to go to one of the skin clinics there before surgery. Could I get laser done on my face before surgery or would that cause problems? 6. I was thinking of going to Daprs the next time I go to Korea for Zygoma/V-line. Since I read getting a nose job and face/jaw stuff done at the same time wasn't suggested. The clinics i'm interested in at the moment are, Dream, Jewelry, JW, Cinderella, Banobagi I heard Dr.Lee and Dr.Park are good nose surgeons at JW & Dream. Who's a good eye doctor and fat graft Doctor there? Also I'm worried they are to subtle, i'm looking for a very dramatic change in my nose. 7. Alot of Plastic surgeons in the USA offer 3d-imaging to show what you'll look like afterwards. Do they offer that there, If so which clinics? That's a major deal for me, I think it helps give the doctor visual on what i'm wanting achieved especially since language is kinda a barrier. 8. Is the beginning of September busy time for clinics? That's all the questions I can think of for now. I appreciate whoever took the time to read and answer my questions~ My Kakao ID is Sunshinehot. Add me
hj88 Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 I'll try to answer your questions: 1. Vline is a type of facial contouring. Facial contouring is the umbrella term for any surgery that alters the face shape. Usually this is chin, jaw, cheeks (so square jaw, vline, chin implant, sliding genioplasty, T osteotomy, zygoma reduction, cheek implants etc). 2. It sounds like that email was a generic one they send to everyone who's interested in rhino. Ignore. That's a crazy idea. I had the same issues with a hump on my nose and you don't need an implant to fix it. 3. Filler and FG can both help sunken eye holes. The key is to find a good injector, then you don't have to worry about blindness. That would only be a risk if you went to someone who didn't know what they were doing. 4. I've seen some positive reviews for FG to the lips on RealSelf. I'd suggest to go and take a look there to get a better view on percentage rates of survival. 5. You would need to get laser about 1.5 plus weeks before surgery otherwise you can run into trouble. I've seen reviews before from people who did them too close together. Remember - laser burns and often opens the skin up, which can make it more prone to infection. Not what you want right before surgery. 6. Jewelry had a big scandal last year where doctors and nurses were photographed partying in a surgery room with an unconscious patient lying behind them. Banobagi in my opinion heinously overcharges foreigners, particularly when compared to what they charge Koreans. The prices they quote Koreans for identical surgeries are at least 3 times cheaper (I live in Korea). 7. I personally think its better to ignore these kinds of photoshopped mock-ups. At best they are misleading and not a good indication of what you will really look like after surgery. At worst, they set you up for disappointment. I know some of the bigger clinics like Grand and BK offer it. 8. Beginning of September shouldn't be too busy but it's the end of the summer season so it won't be super quiet. October / November are quieter. Hope that helps!
hj88 Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Oh and FWIW, I wholeheartedly agree that facial contouring and rhinoplasty should NOT be done at the same time. The recovery from vline is hard enough as it is and the only hole you have to breathe through is your nose. Also, from an aesthetic perspective, it's better to wait until you see your new face shape so you can see which nose will suit it best. Having said that, the clinics will perform both surgeries at once if you want them.
sunshinehot Posted June 11, 2015 Author Posted June 11, 2015 Thank you so much! You were a great help. Maybe i'll plan going Oct/Nov then.
k-couture Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 the procedure alot of people use for sunken/hollow eyes is called TCR. Transconjunctival Fat Repositioning. My surgeon suggested that fat grafting doesn't work that well for under eye deficiencies. I would have gotten TCR but because I previously had incisions through the lower lid mine would be considered soof surgery instead Laser for pores I used Fraxel and Carbon Laser. Worked pretty well. But best to do it 2 weeks before your intended procedure. For your nose it sounds like you need reduction rather than augmentation procedures. Here are some of the procedures for it: Rasping, Lateral Osteo and Bulbous Excision. Without seeing your nose I don't know what you actually need tho but those are typically the procedures used to reduce size and straighten the nose.
sunshinehot Posted June 13, 2015 Author Posted June 13, 2015 One clinic said they would have to remove the fat under my eyes then do the fat graft. The whole point of me needing a fat graft is cause I lack the fat there..so I didn't quite understand why that was needed. I haven't had the best time consulting with clinics so far. It feels like they don't even read what I write, and just give me a generic answer, and a form to fill out, instead of addressing my questions. Did you get the laser done in Korea, or your home country? I really did want it done, but i'm only staying 3 weeks so don't think it will be possible to get any laser done. Yeah I definitely need a reduction, i'm kinda afraid they won't reduce it as much as I want since everyone seems to want a higher bridge over there.
sunshinehot Posted June 13, 2015 Author Posted June 13, 2015 Would anyone mind sharing their surgery pictures? I've only seen a few pictures besides the ones the clinics show on their websites.
motty26 Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 wow I didnt know the FG in the eye area can cause blindness? I thought FG was really safe. Ive got crepey dark eyes - I always thought FG can fix it... maybe I should consider other alternatives then, like laser resurfacing...
blu3butterfly Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 Which clinics do fat repositioning? My malar area is deficient but my cheeks are chubby/saggy resulting in a negative face vector and what appears like dents in my cheeks. I was thinking that fat graft with either acculift or some type of lifting would help but maybe TCR would be better, but I didn't see clinics that do that procedure. I'm planning on going sometime in september/october so any info on which clinics have good results with TCR and the price range would be helpfull.
k-couture Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 most clinics do the TCR. What do you mean your malar is deficient? Malar is the cheeks...Do you mean the mid cheek region is deficient but the side cheek is chubby and saggy? you could do TCR for the eyebag issue, and fat graft to the mid cheek with acculift to the side cheek. This is a common combination for many asians because our faces tend to be flatter with more fatty tissues at the sides. Anyways like I said most clinics do TCR. A reason why its not specified in many clinics as a procedure that is available is because like fg and acculift, there is not specialization in the medical discipline for it. I would suggest getting a good lift surgeon to perform it tho. Some people need Soof surgery instead of TCR, because their issue is also an excess of sagging and weakened muscles which need to be corrected via a deep tissue lift. Price wise it really depends on the clinics and how complicated your case is. Different clinics are of different price ranges and have different pricing strategies. Different surgeons within each clinic also have varying minimums for which they would take on a patient for, depending on the expertise and seniority. Also different patients may require a simple procedure or a more complicated one. It really depends on various factors and without seeing your facial condition i cannot give any objective advice. Like for me if i were to do TCR, it would be considered soof because i previously had incisions from the lower lid before. It would also be considered a revision as I have underlying internal scar tissue there which will complicate the procedure. its best you contact a few clinics 5-6 to first inquire on the method they use and then go from there. xx good luck on your surgery
