bluepig Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 Hello all, This is my first post to this forum so I hope I did not double post if there is already a post like mine or violate any rules. I have been reading many posts in this subform for a few days and doing keyword search on liposuction, as that is what I like to get done in Seoul. From many posts, I rather a few clinics that members mentioned for liposuction 1) 365mc 2) The Line 3) JW I also tried using Naver with google translation to search on liposuction but most results show clinic with no English translation. I have no Korean friend to translate if I go there so have to skip them. I found Venus Surgery clinic but can't find anyone here mentioned them. Also I think some other posts have The Line as a place to avoid. I guess I'm trying to say I tried doing my diligent research. My hope is to find a clinic that is specialize in liposuction and I believe 365mc and The Line is specialize. Does anyone have any other recommendations beside them? My list is short and just want to make sure I don't miss out on a good clinic that I didn't find on this forum. For skin clinic, I contacted two clinics and did not receive any response yet. 1) CNP Skin 2) Zell Dermatology - Dr. Park Does anyone have any other suggestions I might missed? Thanks for anyone friendly suggestion on lipo and skin clinic they've been to and have good experience with. Appreciates it.
hj88 Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 I have heard from other forummer's that 365mc overcharges foreigners. No personal experience there except that i know it's a chain that has heaps of different branches. The only other lipo clinics i can recommend are all korean-only so that doesn't help. Sorry! I don't think I've heard anything negative about The Line though For skin clinics, I know someone that has been to CNP and they do a great job for laser on acne scars. Very friendly too and they don't overcharge.
bluepig Posted June 29, 2015 Author Posted June 29, 2015 Hi HJ88, Thanks for replying, are you Korean? It would be nice if I can learn Korean in 6 months then it would be easier to find a reputable liposuction doctor with reasonable price. My search for skin care clinic is easier..
hj88 Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 No, I'm not Korean but I live here and speak Korean. You should definitely try to learn Korean - it will help out Even if you just learn Hangeul and the basic Korean terms for your surgeries it will be good. 6 months is unfortunately not long enough to learn Korean, I'm afraid! For most people, studying 8 hours a day for 1.5 years is the realistic timeframe to learn Korean from the start.
k-couture Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 The line performs lipo via an extended canula technique. It apparently diminishes the scarring rate so you should check it out while ure in seoul. Im not sure how many other clinics use that method but it seems to be marketed as one of their competitive advantages.
cerulea Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 Hi, I have done liposuction in Korea last week (I will write a more extensive post later because I only have my tablet right now and I prefer to type on a computer) and here are the clinics that I found ; Dual, Rovl, StarM, Apgujeon TopLine, YK clinic (there are two different ones and both do liposuction but one of them only does lipo), Dr. Homes, Korea, Opera and Change. (I did my surgeries with Korea PS) Dual also does the canula thingy which is supposed to minimize scarring. Both Dual and Rovl doctors are from 365mc. Rovl and StarM don't have translators and won't get one for you, you need to bring you own. If you can speak chinese, it is a lot easier since the larger clinics (Korea, Opera) have some translators already on hand (and most of them can speak chinese).
bluepig Posted June 30, 2015 Author Posted June 30, 2015 Hi Cerulea I'm looking forward to read on your surgery journey! I don't think I seen any of your clinics listed on this forum..maybe I missed some posts on it. Too bad I can't speak Chinese or Korean and I would rather not get a translator, maybe Google can be my translator jk I wouldn't use that to make major decision. K Couture, thanks for the suggestion, I will put The Line on my potential appointment list.
autumnsea Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Hi everyone, Ive been using this forum to research PS in Korea. There does not seem to be as many discussions on liposuction as for eyes and nose. I know that Korea is better for facial PS, but what about procedures on the body (ie is it worthwhile to go to Korea for lipo only)? Id like lipo in the stomach and the thighs. I prefer the slim willowy look of Asian beauty standards. I'm afraid that if I do lipo on my thighs in the states, the doctors will think my ideal is too thin and they'd take out too little fat. I couldnt really find any questions related to this, so would different body ideals justify going to Korea only for lipo? Ive been searching around in the forums so I have a list of clinics Id like to go to (so far, I like The Line and 365MC), but anyone also have particular suggestions? Has anyone been able to lock in a rough price range before actually flying there for consultation? The clinics I contacted gave me basic quotes though obviously theyll have to see me in person (i.e. prices go up with size of patient, but Im underweight if anything). Finally, Ive been told that foreigners are usually overcharged. What are some tips for negotiation?
magdalene35 Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Anyone has Lipo (either thigh or abdomen ) done at The Line clinic? Couldn't find any review in this forum. In addition, has anyone had both thigh and abdomen done at the same time?

lavender16 Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 If you go to an Asian doctor then it might be ok. I consulted western doctors in the past and they told me I'm not fat which I disagree. On the other end of the spectrum I've seen work of a Korean doctor where too much fat was removed from the thighs so they look very weird and unnatural. Could be difference in taste I suppose. 365mc overcharges foreigners by A LOT and you prob can't bring it down much unless you go with a Korean friend. I find that generally prices quoted in person are more reasonable than what I get online. Based on my experience some clinics are more opened to negotiation and will even mention they can give discount. Those clinics you know there's more room to negotiate.
babysnow95 Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 No... You'll save on procedure costs during sales but make up for it + more while spending on travel, hotel, food, ect. Lipo is a very general thing and you don't need a doctor who is asian to get lipo if you are asian.
autumnsea Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Would you say that cultural aesthetics affects how much fat a liposuction PS would be willing to take out? I'd definitely say my ideal might be considered too thin in the states. I'll look into Asian doctors as well, I'm interested to see if there are differences I can spot in their work. You mentioned that you consulted with several western surgeons. I'm just starting out on research but what criteria (i.e. technique, b&a, location near you) did you emphasize most when selecting surgeons?
autumnsea Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 I agree on that, I'll probably end up paying similar or more in Korea than if I did this in my country. I'd be willing to pay more only for results and safety. Based off your experience in Korea or from others you know, what are your thoughts quality of results (Asian versus western ideals of slimness) for non-facial surgeries like liposuction?
babysnow95 Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 From non-direct research (things I've seen while not really researching lipo), Korean lipo is still done if there isn't very much fat (stubborn fats mostly.) I've never heard of a western doctor refusing to do lipo unless there were health concerns or there was really not even a substantial amount of stubborn fats. Sometimes, some doctors will simply not have agreeing aesthetic viewpoints as you, but I'm sure there's always a reputable, safe, certified surgeon out there that will. Just keep searching!
