This sounds alarming. Hopefully you are addressing any health issue.

I don't think it's a problem, I was really sick one winter and my appetite took time to come back but it's not a recurring health issue that would make my weight fluctuate around.

Hi, yes I contacted 365mc and I like the idea of a clinic specialized in liposuction. Here, it seems that the one or few doctors in a clinic perform a whole range of procedures from nose job to lipo.

My main concern is aesthetics plus I guess the hassle/safety/complications of going abroad for a procedure that otherwise shouldnt be too different wherever you go.

Some other questions I had:

1. If there are facial implants (i.e. chin, nose), how can one ensure that these regions are safe during the procedure? I think during thigh lipo, I may have to lie on my front at some point?

2. I heard that aftercare massages are very important to ensure good results and no lumpiness. However, if lipo is done abroad, is it possible to do this back in my country? In the past, have encountered doctors very reluctant to do aftercare checkups/procedures for PS done by a different doc

My advice (as with any foreign surgery) is to stay in the country for a few weeks so results can be seen and addressed if need be.

Wish I could stay longer, have commitments back at home and can't be away for more than 2 wks max :S
Also worried that I tell the doctor repeatedly but a nurse forgets or something during the procedure -sigh-

I read your experiences on your journal thread. Would you have opinions (choosing doctors, quality) on lipo PS in u.s. vs SK?

I will never have any kind of work done in the US again. US doctors are about 15 years BEHIND South Korean doctors and unfortunately I can attest to this from personal experience. Not all US doctors are bad, obviously. But now that I know about the difference in aftercare, not always going under GA, etc., I'd rather get on a plane and be properly taken care of in Seoul.

Liposuction is right there with everything else that South Korean doctors do better than US doctors, I've had liposuction and my recovery was not anywhere close to what it would have been in SK. Neither were the results. I would take some time to just study the results of any doctor and clinic you are considering and don't be afraid to ask questions. Most of all, trust your gut. Don't go with anyone you think will forget anything as important as the impact of their actions on your nose.

Could I ask what specific key differences you see between US and SK liposuction quality? I used to think the technique and maybe aesthetics was the same for lipo almost anywhere unlike for facial PS, until I read your input

Also what are important attributes you are using to narrow down your search for lipo doctors? For US docs, Ive been looking at qualifications, reviews, and B&A but Im never really impressed by the photos in part because the starting point/desired end aesthetics are so different from mine. Plus each doc seems to offer so many procedures (i.e. from rhino to lipo, botox, etc) so it's hard to tell which he/she is or is not as experienced in. For SK, there's much less info available besides some threads on 365MC or teh Line since this place is best for info on nose or eye procedures

Btw feel free to pm me instead if youd prefer

I'll answer it here since I think it will be helpful to others.

I went out with my sister today and was talking about my trip to Seoul to assuage her fears. I explained why I am going to Seoul and not trying again in the US.

I am not the only one who has been hurt by "the best" doctors. Many people have written about it on here and on RealSelf. Sometimes doctors are like mechanics. They do good work to get more work and then stop caring once their prices are high. Then the people he did good work for will defend him against the new people he did garbage work on.

In m research into plastic surgery in SK, I found everything was different. I didn't know until recently that Seoul doctors are 15 years ahead of American doctors although they started plastic surgery much later. Their approach is much different; softer and better for the body. I've mentioned it before, but there is NO aftercare here in the States. No massages for lipo or face surgeries, no anti-swelling, no pineapple juice, NOTHING.

As you said, I am not impressed with what American doctors do. I am literally speechless every time I see a South Korean doctor's work. If not for the before pictures, you'd never know they weren't born with their after faces. I watched a necklift, facelift and rhinoplasty of a 58 year old woman and when I say they made her 25 years younger, I kid you not. But it looks so NATURAL. I haven't seen an American doctor yet who can do that.

Also, as the woman in the video I spoke of above said, each SK doctor has a specialty. Their practice might do multiple procedures, but they do not. They each have something they are outstanding at. They work together to create your perfect look. At least the good doctors do.

i am intending to do lipo on my arms and thighs. Flanks maybe.
Anyone has any positive and/or negative reviews to share about their clinics?

Hi soyoungee, could you advise me on the average duration one should stay on for? I am considering doing lipo on my arms and abdomen for the first round and maybe hip and thighs for the 2nd. Could you also tell us the clinic that quoted you that amount?
