No good question They would remember if they did someone's zygoma badly maybe. We also had a poor girl who got her face botched at Face Dental clinic a few months ago. Many people clearly working for the clinic started attacking her for leaving negative review.

I haven't seen anyone promote the clinics I'm going to, so I am OK with people know that I'm Jess from Germany

I would be shocked if clinics don't check on forums. This PF forum is the main forum for all English speaking patients. I believe anyone from the English speaking world who is thinking of going to Korea for surgery would have to pass by this forum, that's why clinics tend to monitor this forum a lot.

View Clinic knows I post here, but they are professional about it. They thank me for my positive review of them and promise they will take my negative feedback into consideration and work hard to improve themselves. This is the type of service I hope all clinics adopt. Thankfully I didn't end up at EverM because I can't even find an English website of EverM lol.

I know right? Interesting! I think some people exchange their review on purse in exchange for discount for their surgery or upcoming surgery (meaning their will go back to get more procedure done for a reduce price.)

I could not find any information about Everm's email. And their website is only on korean!
How did you contact them before the surgery? Did you bring your translators?
Do you have the surgeon's email?

My sister has Jaw asymmetry and malocclusion. Wanted to find the best clinic for her...

If EverM had an English website or if I had knew of their English consultant, I would almost certainly have gone to them. EverM was literally No. 1 on my list. They do have a Chinese website though, and I can speak very fluent Mandarin (I'm Eurasian btw). But there are some medical terms and procedures which are best described in English so I wasn't very confortable conversing in Mandarin about my needs and wants to the doctor. That's the reason why I reluctantly dropped EverM off my list.

But now as I read over this thread, thank GOD I dropped them. I wonder what happened to partytrees?

I had my two jaw operation on Thursday, my teeth were wired shut on Saturday, which brings us to Day 6 post op. Since I've benefitted greatly from this forum from reading prior experiences, I wanted to pay it forward and hopefully my post might help someone considering two jaw.

For those who are interested in getting the procedure done, I have to pre-warn you that it is not an easy surgery. A fellow patient and I have coined it The Surgery From Hell. Here's why it's not easy.

1) You underestimate it. I made that mistake too, I did my homework, read through blogs and forums, tried talking to people who had two jaw and I thought I was ready. The thing is you think that you are, but you are not. People usually don't elaborate about the downside of the procedure, and if they do, you sweep it under the rug thinking that wouldn't happen to you or you can handle it. Blogs might mention difficulty breathing, but you wouldn't be able to fathom how difficult it actually is.

Since day 1, you wake up with a swollen nose and my guess is all the pipes inside you are swollen too. To add to that, your nose bleeds thus blocking even more airway, and your body produces lots of mucus. The clinic will have a suction machine that sucks out the mucus and helps clear you up, but it is only to be done every 8 hours because it actually causes you to swell more. Try pinching your nose or breathing with a rag over your face, 24 hours. That's as bad as it gets. Unfortunately this is something everyone must face as all the patients that I've met during my stay have experienced that. Fortunately the breathing gets easier as you progress along but before that, it really is terrible.

2) When you wake up, you'll feel as if you have been run over by a truck. Like someone beat you up while you were sleeping and you wake up in all kinds of pain. There's nausea, giddiness, a sore throat and this indescribable helpless feeling of weakness. It's a package you would have to experience to understand. In my opinion it's worst the first 12 hours after surgery, after which you slowly get your energy back. It's not over though.

3) This feeling is taken over by discomfort and pain. Two of my new best friends. When your jaws are wired shut on the third day, it makes breathing that much more difficult and the tightness in your jaw imposes a headache. For 24 hours, everyday, you feel an ache in your jaw that escalates as and when. If you've plucked your wisdom teeth, its a similar feeling but on a way higher scale and magnitude.

4) As mentioned, when your jaws are wired shut, it feels claustrophobic. I say that my tongue is in tongue-jail. It's not only the fact that you can't open your mouth to speak or eat properly, but when you cough and have phlegm, or feel like vomiting, that's when you begin to feel scared. At everM they wire you shut for two weeks, I'm on my 4th day and it's felt like forever. I've mentioned the mad ache in my teeth yes? Being wired shut is one of the cons of having IVRO, but on the bright side, I never lost feeling in my nerves. It's a choice you have to make when deciding between the SSRO or IVRO method. At the face dental, the doctor promotes SSRO (in my opinion) his reason being the way the screws are screwed makes it more secure for foreigners since the time they spend in Korea is limited. At EverM, they promote IVRO being that there's less chances of nerve damage etc. I chose IVRO because my nerves were already sitting low on my face and I didn't wanna risk not being able to feel my face ever.

5) There is also the hunger, swelling and whys that you will start asking yourself. "Was I not good looking enough?" "I don't think I looked that bad actually" "Why was I so greedy for beauty?"

But if you've read till here and still want to go ahead with the procedure, good luck to you I say. If I typed this post a few days before, it would have been a lot more pessimistic with a lot more cons. It actually felt so bad I regretted having the surgery done. Coughing out blood and phlegm and constantly bleeding through the mouth is no fun.

Now that I'm feeling better in comparison, here are a list of things that you should consider taking with you if you are keen on getting the surgery done. Please note that this is not exhaustive.

1) A neck pillow
2) A cushion for your butt (yes you will need it)
3) Wet tissue (to clean your nose and wipe your face)
4) Nasal spray (you can ask the nurse what brand to get)
5) Light entertainment (forget about things that require too much concentration, you would be too tired to even reply whatsapp messages at the start)
6) LOADS OF OPTIMISM (I cannot emphasize how important this is, but know that since it's already so tough, it can only get better)

I understand why they might be frustrated if you post about potential "complications" with your surgery results when in actual fact it is far too early and you are just healing but on the other hand, the way they've dealt with it is not great.

I do see a lot of people post "OMG I'm botched!" when they are 2 weeks post op (which is like...months too early to be able to say that) but trying to threaten or silence you just doesn't fly outside of Korea. In Korea, there are laws about what you can write about clinics.. Maybe that's where this mentality comes from.

So apparently, Everm is upset that I have mentioned on this thread that my zygoma is not significantly reduced on this thread. Honestly, the zygoma is barely the tip of the iceberg of the issues that I face post op. I already swept it under the rug thinking at least they didn't make it worse. I'm ok if it doesn't look changed. I only replied because it was mentioned.

Apparently, I am writing about my cheekbone problem even before consulting them because I am incapable of seeing whether I am still swollen or not.

I actually feel a little harassed that she would make me filter what I can post or cannot post online. I would also understand if what was being said were lies or hearsay. Yet if everything that is mentioned is my firsthand experience that I can back up with photographs, I do appreciate how I am made to feel like I shouldn't be posting about them.

Unfortunately, this is also not the first time this has happened.

Regarding another issue, not the zygoma, I was asked to refrain from talking about it. They are also unsure that the problem is their mistake. I mean, it could be mine? Because when I was under GA, I might have operated on myself? Or it could be because someone else planned and executed the surgery? I don't know. I need some enlightenment on how the clinic that did the surgery might not have been the ones that made a mistake?

But of course, after speaking to Gahee I am reassured, as always, that the problem will be better after my swelling goes down. She says I can trust her. So I believe that in 4.5 months, (6 months after my surgery), I should expect my smile to correct itself and return, my abnormally long philtrum to return to its original shorter length and my zygoma to significantly be reduced.

I started posting my experiences because I wanted people to know what to expect during two jaw. The main problem I face now, I did not read about or encounter anywhere. I wish that I had read about it somewhere because I would have reconsidered the surgery, and since it could have been prevented, I would have reconsidered the clinic.

Can't say that I'm not the least bit disappointed in EverM. I expected more integrity and results from them.

Hey guys! I'm four days post op after surgery at EverM.
Let me tell you. Choosing the clinic wasn't easy but I'm glad to have chosen it. I was considering plenty, and my aunt being a native korean recommended ID, BK, and many others since that's the go-to for cosmetic surgery.

Like many others have mentioned before, EverM is a dental hospital so they don't do anything above the eyes nor do they touch the nose. I wanted to specifically go to a place that focused on jaws and jaws only. I was willing to dish on more for specialization than a combo discount that many other cosmetic hospitals do.
This is an extremely dangerous surgery and the last thing I wanted was a discounted eyelid surgery, along with other rediculous surgeries I wouldn't have needed. I actually consulted at a few other nearby hospitals and all of them recommended a rhino and double eyelid surgery stressing that 4 weeks isn't enough time for one to heal properly. This, being true, I still proceeded since coming over the summer wasn't an option for me.

Here I got SSRO jaw surgery since I'm over here on break from uni.

The care I got at EverM from the beginning was quite spotty and I was quite reluctant, but of course one would have doubts. I do wish EverM were a bit more clear regarding "hidden costs" such as fees BESIDES the surgery but other than that my experience was quite pleasant.

I'm here for anyone who has any questions! I'm here quite secretively so I can't openly discuss with my friends regarding this surgery so I'd love some company so ask away

I'm not interested in everm and you don't have to prove anything to me though as its my opinion and I'm not pushing anything on anyone. I believe people here are discerning enough to form their own opinions.
