yaku Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 As a male, it was really difficult for me to find reviews and experiences with cosmetic surgery. I have so many complexes with my nose and chin that Ive even resorted to makeup to alter the appearance. Not very manly, I suppose. I always had the notion that plastic surgeons only knew how to work on females which was very uneducated of me. Over time, I began stumbling across a few photos of men who have had cosmetic procedures done, and most of which were very subtle. This is something similar to what I want, so I figured why not give it a go now. Most men arent really comfortable with admitting they had a procedure done, but I dont see any shame in getting your features refined. People can have the option to be public about it, or to just keep it to themselves, in my opinion. I have chosen to be public about it because I feel that if I share my experience, it will help other men who are in the same shoes as me have somewhat of a better idea about what to do and how to prepare for cosmetic surgery in Korea as a tourist. :reading:Now, to the juicy part! I recently landed in Seoul, South Korea (Gangnam-gu), and I am so excited to be getting my nose and jaw surgery at Banobagi clinic. Since Im a foreigner, I had to Google search for a medical tourism agency to assist me around, but they were all very expensive. That was until I came across DocFinderKorea and saw that their services are actually free. That word free is usually associated with scams, but this isnt the case with this medical tourism agency. Their paycheck doesnt come from your pocket, essentially; it comes from them introducing customers to some of the most respected clinics in Korea. They are accredited by the South Korean government, and let me tell you their services are AWESOME! I arrived in Incheon airport, and they had a driver waiting there with my name on a poster board. He took me on a 30-minute drive to my hotel in Yeoksam. I literally was expecting some half-*** service, but I met up with the coordinator the day after I arrived to Seoul. He picked me up in a nice vehicle and took me to Dream Hairline clinic, so that I could have a hair transplant. His name is Shin Park, and he is one of the few (but growing) coordinators that do a wonderful job of helping you around to your appointments. You can find out their full list of free services at www.docfinderkorea.com , but Im going to tell you what DocFinderKorea has done for me so far: -Drove me to all my appointments on time. -Took me to E-Mart to get some groceries and an adapter for U.S. -> Korea outlets. (Im a vegan, so he even helped me look for soymilks in the store.) -Ordered me kimchi porridge. -Translated transactions for me. Now, Ive only been here for four days, but Ive gotten so many tasks done. I am going to be getting my nose and jaw surgery tomorrow, and Im a little nervous ONLY BECAUSE I know the recovery is tedious. I am willing and mentally able to deal with that, though. Shin Park will be picking me up from my cheap hotel here in Yeoksam, Seoul in the Gangnam area called CastleFine. This place is near most of the surgery clinics, its great for single people or people who traveled by themselves, and they even have self-serve rice and kimchi in the main kitchen area. For roughly $30 USD a day, thats a steal. I chose this place on my own even though DocFinderKorea showed me prettier places. You can book your own hotel, or DocFinderKorea will give you a list of recommended places to stayall you do is pay the hotel directly. Shin Park from DocFinderKorea emailed me and kept in touch before I came to Korea, so that I was prepared for the travel for surgery. Make sure that if youre interested in getting surgery in Korea, you email [email protected], or just go to their website www.docfinderkorea.com and click on the online consultation tab at the bottom of the homepage. Explain your complexes, and you should get a reply in no time. I know what youre thinking: This piece of **** is advertising for them. I actually would never co-sign an agency unless I 100% truly respect their efforts. I was definitely going to use a medical tourism company to assist me in Korea, but like I mentioned, the prices didnt fit my budget. DocFinderKorea provides the same services (and then some), yet they remain free meaning they take NO money from you. I am not advertising; Im simply recommending this for folks who are like me and will get lost in korea, those who dont know Korean language, those who want efficiency and simplicity, and those who want help without having to use their cosmetic surgery funds on tourism services. If you'd rather do all of this on your own, I am not stopping you. Anyways, I will update you guys two days after my surgery. I have a feeling my body is going to want to hibernate after the surgery in order to heal. Are any of you men trying to get cosmetic surgery in Korea? Let me know. I want to know if were slowly willing to speak up about our complexes and desire to refine our image just as much as some women.
nikkitve Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Hey Yaku!! Just came across your post and im really happy for you, hope you will have a great recovery ahead!! Just wondering how long did you wait till you get feedbacks from clinics from docfinderkorea emails?? And how much does Banobagi charge you for rhinoplasty? Thanks in advance
yaku Posted December 22, 2015 Author Posted December 22, 2015 Well, the quote came out to 4.95 million won when DocFinderKorea emailed me, but that was just the doctor's estimate based on photos. They can't come up with a realistic price until they see you in person and see exactly how you want your nose. For example, Dr. Lee said that I have a handsome nose, and that everything I wanted to do to it was going overboard. He showed me proportions, etc. From that consultation alone, I was able to knock down the price to 3,423,000 won simply because I wasn't getting as much done with my nose as I had previously imagined. DocFinderKorea will also bargain for you, so that's great because I speak very little Korean. DocFinderKorea replied to my online consultation with 24 hours, and then kept responding up to this day where I message them via What'sApp or KakaoTalk. Hope this helps!
katiee1004 Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Hi Yaku! I left a reply on your other post but I wanted to know if you could PM me DocFinderKorea's Kakao? Thanks so much!!
