katiee1004 Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Hi Yaku! I made an account here earlier for the sole purpose of finding more information on Banobagi! So I was glad to see you posted your experience, and thanks for sharing by the way. I'm also going to use DocFinderKorea since I want to be extra safe haha. Anyways, your nose looks amazing!! It really fits well with the rest of your face. My original plan was to just do my nose but I also kind of want to do my jaw because its a little uneven. Did you haggle the price at all? I heard a lot of people haggle but something tells me I shouldn't because I'm afraid they won't put in as much effort LOL
twotone510 Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 Hi Yaku. I checked out your IG again and your jaw and nose are settling in nicely! Did you stay in Korea for 2 weeks? And what day did you get your stitches removed for your jaw?
yaku Posted January 22, 2016 Author Posted January 22, 2016 I stayed in Korea for 21 days just so I didn't return to work looking TOO post-op. Haha! I didn't get my facial surgery until my 8th day in Korea, though. >< They took the nose stitches out on day 7 post-op, and then the mouth stitches on day 13 post-op because I had to leave back to the US the next day. They left some stitches in that I just had my orthodontist take out when I returned to the U.S. I could've removed them myself, but I'm too clumsy, and probably would've injured myself. But if you stay long enough (15 days post-op) they will usually remove all stitches at Banobagi depending on your healing ability.
yaku Posted January 22, 2016 Author Posted January 22, 2016 They put in effort for me despite them being extremely busy during the peak season --Christmas break is NOT a time you want to book a surgery LOL-- If you bargain the price, they won't use the low price to determine how well the doctor does your surgery. The doctor has to keep his reputation. Any screw up, and the doctor will lose his title. Haha! Then the clinic will jeopardize their business. Also, most Korean clinics give free revision, so if you're worried about that, ask them straight up, "if my nose gets messed up or is rushed, would I receive a free revision." The doctors were trustworthy, so I doubt they would intentionally mess up your face. Just make sure your consultation doesn't seem rushed and give a detailed response. Make sure they give your translator a detailed response as a back-brief so that you come out with a nose that you want. It won't look like the nose you want for another three months, so don't be shocked when the cast is removed. It's so swollen that you can't even judge off of that. A lot of people in these forums like to judge based of immediate results.<eye roll>
peachsoymilk Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Hi Yaku, can I ask how you managed meals in Korea post op? I am vegan as well (: Thank you!
twotone510 Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Oh ok good to know. Thank you for the info!
yaku Posted January 23, 2016 Author Posted January 23, 2016 I literally lived off of soy milk after the jaw surgery. Then, on day 7 or 8 I started making my own porridge in the kitchen provided at my hotel. ^^ All I used was steamed rice, water, green onion, tofu, salt, red pepper flakes, garlic, napa cabbage and sesame oil with a sprinkle of black pepper. On day 11, my friend and I cooked a ton of vegan food at her place --you can see the pic on my IG. On day 12, I ate at March Rabbit in Sinsa. on day 13, I ate some ramen. lol
