jessicacorbyn Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 Thank you! What's SMAS? I guess the skin relies on the tendon as well though. So it still causes sagging even if young skin snaps back. Good point I am still planning for my self
summerflower0 Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 This thread is so informative! I am thinking of doing jaw reduction/vline. Would someone over 30s do jaw reduction getting higher chance of sagging? Or sagging mainly for someone doing zygoma?
heylo Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Exactly; any kind of bone cutting surgery involves a lot of disruption and trauma. Please, at the very least, find someone who does all the necessary muscular resuspensions or works with a plastic surgeon who does so. I should think most of the factories in Gangnam just slap patients back together, lol. Ageing is always associated with craggy skin but saggy muscles, fat in the wrong places and bone loss give people aged features. Harsh, sticking out bones can also look 'elderly' so it's really about getting the right balance. This subject is an incredibly difficult one and many plastic surgeons just try to create a certain 'look' on everyone rather than consider proportions, balance and surgical tradeoffs. Korean medical tourists are soon off and away, out of the country, and the only way the surgeons make their 'big sale' is by making 'big promises' about how their proposed surgery will totally fix their aesthetic problems. The best recontouring results have involved the adjustment of many different soft and hard elements - usually very slightly - to achieve a dramatic overall result. If you look at the changes per area, you will see that they are not dramatic in isolation. I think everyone should have an "if A happens, do B" contingency plan for EVERY surgical procedure they get. And they do need a good implant and bone paste centre in Korea.
heylo Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 OMG... Tony.clinickorea has gone! I think it would be good to have his input. Yes, he's promoting his services but he has insight into what happens to bone patients. Getting a SMAS in Korea and taking care of sagging skin are things I'd like to know about. Tony, come back, lol.
jessicacorbyn Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Thank you Yes I am taking the time to do my research.. Initially, I had the clinics that need a lot of revision cases on my list! It is still hard to decide though. How do I find a surgeon who does all the muscular resuspensions? Just ask them? They may not be honest. I am doing my medical research though, even though it is hard. Like you say it is a big risk. I have strong German features that make me look older, esp as I am quite skinny. But sagging is bad also.
k-couture Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 The actual front of the zygoma cannot be fractured nor can it be pushed back. It can only be shaved down minimally. When 3d zygoma is performed they alter the arch and the body. The frontal bone/mid face is even more crucial than the arch in terms of minimizing sagging. In my case when i did my zygoma reduction the body and arch was corrected to achieve symmetry but the frontal mid cheek bone was left as it is. It is better to reduce fatty deposits in that area rather than shave the bone. I however left it untouched as I have removed as much of it as possible through past surgeries. Anymore and I will have visible sagging
gantz Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Thank you for clarifying that. So you mean you have no sagging so far? Did you have lifting at the same time?
nacggk Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 What type of lifting method is the best after jaw reduction ? Seems like there is no permanent solution to prevent sagging, only temporary ones.
nacggk Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 What are the disadvantages of each lifting method for manddible reduction?
kathy2406 Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 If you want permanent lift then incision lifting is recommended but if your young then clinics would recommend you thread lift
mirabelle7 Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 as mentioned, all forms of bone reduction will definitely result in skin sagging. i am already experiencing sagging from the removal of my premolars and wisdom teeth; i can't imagine what jaw reduction would do to me, even though i am considering having it done... liposuction of my jowls did not help. it removed my jowls but i am left with obvious excess skin. i am in my early 20s btw. i guess there's always pros and cons. on the bright side at least my face is a lot more narrow from the front. does anyone know if fat grafting would help? since skin sags from loss of support, will the increase in volume on my face make it better? thanks
itsamemario Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 Why would removing premolar and wisdom teeth cause sagging? :/
mirabelle7 Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 i don't know for anyone else but it certainly happened to me from extensive orthodontic work. it made my face a lot more narrow though and i guessed that was why
tkorea Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 Hi How did it go? Did you fix the saggying ? I am looking for facelift doctor too. I had fc too. same problem with yours
lovely645 Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 I have heard of the procedure zygomatic migration where they only move the zygomatic bone instead of cutting it. Will the migration have sagging too?
