chewfishoils Posted March 23, 2016 Author Posted March 23, 2016 I am only like 16 days post op now so I cannot really judge
chewfishoils Posted March 23, 2016 Author Posted March 23, 2016 Hi there I am only 15 days post op so I cannot really judge how long it takes, I was swollen like a watermelon for the first 2 days and it got alot better at the 7th day. And now the cheeks are still swollen. I do not know about make up because I am a guy and I don't wear make up Worst part is the first 2 days where I couldn't close my mouth and kept drooling blood on the hotel's bed sheet.
oceanbelle Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Hi Jessica, the swell will go down almost completely after 3mths. You do not need to use makeup to cover up as it looks the same without or with makeup if you are doing jaw and chin reduction. I did vline a few years ago, and the worst part after the surgery was the first 3 days. After that you will be fine.
marcusprice123 Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 I'm very glad I found your post and read your story. I'm new to the whole plastic surgery world. I was recommended to have v-line and cheekbone reduction surgery. I've been on this forum for the past few days, and this is my first message. I've noticed every hospital has it's good reviews and bad reviews and I just can't seem to make my decision which hospital to choose. Everyone keeps saying "find a good hospital and a good doctor" but that's not enough help for me! I contacted ID, Cinderella, JK, and Grand, but once I came to this forum, everyone had terrible things to say about them and i'm not sure anymore =( Do you happen to know which are the top plastic surgery hospitals at the moment with good reputation? Would you recommend TLPS? I hope you're feeling much better! Thank you.
chewfishoils Posted March 23, 2016 Author Posted March 23, 2016 Hi there, I do not dare/wish to recommend/vouch/promote any clinics to you as I am not really sure. But the fact is that I went with TLPS and you have read the info on my surgery with them here or some other threads(you can find my posts on other threads by clicking my name beside the post and find more posts posted by me/) I can only suggest you to open up to more choices and read more reviews to choose a clinic/hospital you're comfortable with. Another advice is to not limit yourself to some clincs due to budget. If you're not comfortable with the clinic in general but the prices are cheap, I suggest you to save up and wait until you have enough so that you get the best out of the surgery
gongcha Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 I don't think there is a perfect hospital that never had any mistakes or failures.. no matter how good the hospital, sometimes it's not even a mistake, it is just people are not satisfied with the results even though results are good. I think it is best for you to choose hospital "style" instead of reputation. Because all of the above hospitals have good and bad things about them.. you can't help it.
chewfishoils Posted March 23, 2016 Author Posted March 23, 2016 Hi guys I am back with another post. This will be about : -Post op care -3DCT scan review -My concerns after the surgery Post op care : Post op care was the worst for me on the 3rd day(My consultant Melissa was overseas in japan by the way) where the bandage came off on the right side of my face and I called to ask the clinic if I should go back to get it done again. So this english consultant(I don't know her name) answered my called and told me she has to check with melissa(which was overseas) about I don't know what needs to be checked when we are talking about the bandage that came off..? You just have to schedule me for an appointment to get it done which takes about 2 minutes? So she said she would check with melissa and get back to me in 5 minutes. I waited for 20 minutes and I didn't receive any calls. So I called back and the same english consultant picked up again and told me she couldn't reach melissa(Why do you have to disturb melissa when she is on vacation??) And told me she will call me back in 1 minute. And again, waited for about 30 minutes and she didn't return my call. So I called back and then 1 chinese consultant picked up(I don't know her name as well.) And told me it is fine and I can paste it back myself even when I told her I did but it keeps coming off(Asking me to paste it back myself is as good as telling me to cut my jaw myself, I am no expert at this and she asks me to do it myself? Cool. I'm 1000% sure she wouldn't want to be in my situation and have someone telling her those bullsh1t.) And what pissed me off the most is that she told me they were very busy and have alot of customers to attend to. Ok so what now? I paid for the surgery and now you have to concentrate on customers who haven't get their face cut open(Those customers obviously need lower maintenance than me). I am pretty sure the chinese consultant was assigned to me but she didn't want to spend time on me as she want to attend to other customers and maybe hit her sales target or whatever. So I was rejected of post op care by the end of the 3rd phone call on the 3rd day. So on the 7th day I went back to the clinic for my appointment to remove the bandages melissa was already back and there is a misunderstanding whereby I asked melissa if I had to go back to the clinic and melissa told me I didn't have to(I think she thought I didn't want to go back) anyhow, I told her I wanted to go back and see my 3DCT scan and see the doctor and melissa scheduled me 4 days later to do those stuff. So someone who reads my post regarding this saw my post and told melissa about it. Melissa texted me and apologized to me but I really feel that it was unnecessary as I asked in a wrong manner so it was really a misunderstanding. And on the 11th day melissa asked if I was fine, gave me 30minutes of laser deswelling treatment and offered to send me to the airport 2 days later where I leave seoul. 3DCT scan review : 3DCT scan, I noticed that it is a little uneven(The left and right) from the front view. But I try not to be too paranoid now and will see the result on the outside when I am 3 months post op. Note that surgery cannot give you perfectly symmetrical face. It can make asymmetry look much more symmetrical. Even the most beautiful/handsome/ models have asymmetry in their faces but it's so subtle that it's barely noticeable unless you take a ruler and measure their faces. And you will probably find few mm differences. That is how they become models, people like these are more mass appealing and more pleasing to look at. My concerns after the surgery : So I've read alot about sagging after the surgery and I asked if there would be any sagging and the doctor said no. He told me that I didn't have any sagging at the point of time so I don't have to worry about sagging. Also, melissa told me to not worry as well and that if there were to be possible sagging, the clinic would inform you first hand before the surgery and recommend their patients liposuction or some other procedures to take care of post op sagging. But anyhows, any clinic you go to you should definitely check with them instead of waiting for them to tell you. Another concern is the 3DCT scan where I found the left and the right not 100% even but I do understand that it cannot be completely symmetrical as I don't expect the doctor to bring in some special measuring instrument to make sure everything is in the golden ratio, i can only tell when I am 3 months post op and I hope that everything goes well and I don't need revision for such invasive procedure. So if you are planning to go to TLPS for surgery and you speak english(If you are reading up to this point you probably do speak english), look for Melissa. That would be the safest to go with since the other english consultant who told me she had to check on I don't know what sucked big time. And I wouldn't say the whole of TLPS provides bad post op care. It just depends on how humane the consultant/consultants are. And another advise for people going for surgery and reading this post, all that I posted are not sponsored and I am not a promoter for this clinic. I am a real patient who had ups and downs with them and I recommend you to do more research and take my posts as 1 of the 100s of research you are doing. I wish you all the best for your surgery, get it done once, get it done right. I will be back after 3 months for another post on the results. If you guys have any questions feel free to ask and I will get back to you.
chewfishoils Posted March 23, 2016 Author Posted March 23, 2016 The true purpose to getting surgery is the patient's satisfaction. That is what the doctors want to accomplish too. That is all that matters or the doctors won't even ask you what you want to get out of the surgery and just tell you to pay them and lie down on the surgery bed. It does not matter what other people think of the result. If the patients are paying/suffering for it what matters most is patient's satisfaction. You can have the whole world telling you that it is good but if you don't like it yourself. What is the point then? If a patient is not satisfied with the result then it is a failed surgery(And of course there is gonna be a reason for not liking the result.) An example of myself, I had eye surgery last year and I hate the results. The eyes is kinda slanted and not aligned(think 1 up 1 down). The doctor said it was good but I hate the results. Slanted and uneven? I don't think anyone would like it. So it is a failed surgery because it left me unsatisfied even though the doctor think it's nice(Not sure if he lied). But it's my eyes you see, what matters most is my satisfaction. So with that I recommend you to find a clinic where the doctor understands what you want and just be thick skinned and show them pictures and ask them if they can really give you what you want(you're not gonna see them again anyways. If the surgery is good, you don't have to see them again unless you wanna buy them coffee when you visit seoul again. If the surgery is bad you may not want to see them again for revision as well. SO, JUST ASK AND BE THICK SKINNED.)
gongcha Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 if you paid attention to my comment, i actually said choose "hospital style" that matches with yours instead of looking at bad comments and failure rates. because failure may not be failure. it can simply be style doesn't match between u and doctor. what you wrote is what i meant in the first place. (which means if hospital style doesn't match with yours well it'll be a fail even if result is nice. if style matches then success rate will be higher)
jessicacorbyn Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Oh. I hope you are recover soon! ^^ Sorry lah I assume everyone on here was a girl. Is it true you can only have liquids for a week post surgery? What did you have? Good point about the patient satisfaction. I want a very V line face from a square jaw.. am trying to find a clinic which does less of the "natural" look
jessicacorbyn Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Thank you So the swellings is still visible even through makeup for the first 3 months? I have seen pictures of bruising but I am getting a zygoma reduction too
chewfishoils Posted March 24, 2016 Author Posted March 24, 2016 Wew... You don't really want to get the very V till you can kill yourself when you look down(chin too sharp). That is really too over. Not really true, I had rice and soup. But I just didn't really chew on anything hard. I just put the rice in the soup and eat it. I had jaw reduction(long curve), 3D zygoma reduction, T-osteotomy and sliding genioplasty.
chewfishoils Posted March 24, 2016 Author Posted March 24, 2016 I found your post kinda misleading about success/failures and patient's satisfaction so.. There is really no right or wrong to it as 2 people can look at the same thing and see it differently. You posted your opinion and I posted mine. I don't see a need for each of us to correct/argue with each other here as I can see where this is going if I continue to replying you to state my point. This is just a thread for people to post what they want to know and what they think and for me to update people with my surgery. And I am sorry if I come across aggressive because I had an experience whereby it totally contradicts your statement on patient's satisfaction and success/failure. And I don't expect you to understand what I mean. Anyways I also stated that people should find a surgeon that knows what they want and can give them what they want. Which is kinda in line with what you're trying to say in the 2nd part of your post.
oceanbelle Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Yes dear. Swellings will still be visible, but makeup can cover the bruises. I didnt have alot of bruises, they were gone in 2 weeks. However, the swelling took a few months to be gone. I'm getting zygoma reduction too, planning to do in year end. Which are the clinics you have in mind? Do you mind sharing?
jessicacorbyn Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Haha yes not like thishttp://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2014/01/28/article-2547481-1B07A01A00000578-498_636x382.jpg more this but that is extreme from my current face shape ^^https://www.seoultouchup.com/images/2015/10/5.grand-v_line-use-this-for-our-v-line.jpg I might buy lots of food before the surgery I think, as I am going on my own. I am thinking of doing the jaw and zygoma reduction too. Where I live (Europe) strong cheekbones are considered attractive, I prefer the Korean look though
