Maybe, not till I do facial contouring though and then I will probably wait a long time after. ^^

So if I get a T osteotomy I have to avoid getting hit hard again (even after years) because of the screws? I do play sports often so this is major worry for me.

Hi Jessica,

even though i want to get surgeries too, i study nursing and tbh i know cutting into bone isnt the best thing ever. I guess it also depend on the individual's health status and bone density, but imagine someone with bone fractures. Basically this is what we are planning to do, cut up our facial bones. It might even hurt in winter i imagine too, since it is an injury to osteo tissue, so i'd imagine arthritis may develop. As for your question, i believe it will be a weak point so you will have to becareful. I had patients who broken their hands in motorbike accidents and have screws and plates in their hands, and they tell me it gets uncomfortable in winter, and mobility is limited (like buttoning shirts and small fine skilled motor actions is a struggle). But ofcause we are doing this to our faces, you'd still have to becareful with contact sports tho.
I am guessing now ofcause going off what i know when there's injury to bone tissue. But in theory bone injury is bone injury, no matter if you broken your bones in an accident, or wear and tear through out age, or in our case, paying someone to cut our faces. See, this is what the plastic surgeons dont tell us, so becareful and choose a good surgeon.

Enough babbling from me! I wanted to ask you have you heard about this clinic JAYJUN?
http://eng.jjprs.com/

The results look pretty nice here too. They have different ways of facial contouring. This clinic is starting to interest me, i have yet to see any bad comments about here? i hope?

Thank you  I know most surgeons are not honest about this or things like face sagging so I am reading up on it. Also if a clinic does tell me I know they are most trust worthy ^^

I will look up sports after surgery in general I think.

No, sorry. Their results look good though! I have PM you

Hey Jess,

I have read on Realme that face sagging/ double chin can always be corrected via a face/ neck left depending on the severity of the sag. And that's something you can do after you are all healed and in the safety and comfort of Germany, since just about all beauty clinics offer threading/ lifts these days. So dont worry too too much about sagging. But ofcause, if the Korean plastic surgeon tell you straight up about it then yes it should mean he's a good ethical doc xD He might even offer you threading at the hospital, but usually sagging start to appear after all the swelling goes done, so thats like after 3 months atleast! i'd imagine you'd be back in Germany by then.
I'm planning to visit a local beauty clinic here in NZ first, i want to do fraxel dual laser first to clear my skin alittle. I have very shallow, easily covered up small acne scars. But who wanna deal with that really, so i wanna laser them off this year :P And when i'm there i will ask them about the facelift they do, incase my face sags after my korean surgeries!

Some people have said that thread lift doesn't really work and if you go on realself.com, many doctors have called bluff and won't do thread lifts on their patients. I've tried once and yeah, didn't work at all. Maybe the doctor was just bad but I generally don't believe in thread lift anymore. Yes facelift can help, but there's no gaurantee that it can correct 100%. I don't think it's a good idea to use one major surgery to correct another major surgery.

Yes you are right. So it is important to have to right surgeon to start with, but even then theres no promise sagging won't happen. Still good surgeon should give less chance of it happening maybe? The best option for health, is generally avoid inflammation. But since we are on the topic of plastic surgery, its unavoidable. I know facelift is not the solution, but if sagging do occur, its the only thing left to try D:
Could dermarolling firm up the skin i wonder... since people use dermarolling for wrinkles...???

That's a good point ^^ I know there are a lot of plastic surgery clinics here too. I would rather not do the facelift etc. though because I am in my early 20s it's too soon for things like that I feel. Maybe I will do a more natural face to reduce risk haha.

I heard threading does not always work plus the procedure seems scary (more than jaw operation lol) but I will look into my options. You are right its important to ask ahead of the time of surgery!

Good luck with the laser! Have you tried oils too? I hear Kim Kardashian uses this thing called Bio Oil for scars and some of my friends have used it with good result also

No experience of V-line but I had orthognathic surgery 3 weeks ago (not in Asia though).

Double jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery) is for when your bite is misaligned (malocclusion).
A "normal" bite should have your top teeth & your bottom teeth between 1-2mm apart.
If the lower teeth come in front of the upper teeth - this is an underbite.
If the upper teeth come way out in front of the lower teeth - this is an overbite.
In orthognathic surgery, they can move both or only one of the jaws.
They cut into your jaw on both sides of your face & manipulate them depending on whether the jaw needs to be moved forwards or backwards. When the jaw is aligned, they put titanium plates in to bridge the gap.

For me, I had a 11mm overbite so my lower teeth were way behind my upper and I had no chin definition and a very unbalanced profile.
My bottom jaw has been artificially lengthened with 2 titanium plates (which don't set off metal detectors) so that my upper and lower teeth are now only 1.5mm apart. I have chin definition now and my profile is a lot less top heavy.

Hope this is of some help!

Thank you ^^ I think I have an overbite but I'm not sure. My chin is also wide so I need to do the V line surgery.

Where did you get your jaw surgery done? How long did recovery take?

On the NHS in the UK.
I'm on end of week 3 - still on a liquid diet and can't open my mouth fully yet but most of the swelling has gone and all of the bruising has gone.

Was that free? Did you have to wait for the surgery?

Good luck with recovery. How much time have you taken off work? ^^

Yes, it was free. There was a wait for surgery after 12 months of braces because the hospital was down a maxfacs surgeon due to family tragedy. I'm booked off for 4 weeks but I could reasonably have gone back after 2/3 weeks and just had someone else take my phonecalls until I can speak more clearly.
