I am moving to Korea and microneedling is available in the US and I am interested. Especially with PRP. But I haven't seen it listed as a procedure on any of the big surgery websites.
It's often used for acne scarring, but I mainly want it to improve skin quality and make pores smaller. Has anyone seen this available in Korea or had it done?

Hey MoonBeam3, I did PRP before in Korea in conjunction with a fat graft, but it didn't really do anything for my skin. Most / many of the skin clinics and plastic surgery clinics here do seem to offer it, though, even if it's not always on their website. You can try dermatology clinics, too, since this seems to be largely in their realm, though plastic surgeons also perform it. I've never been to a dermatology clinic in Seoul, but I hear a lot of them also speak English / have translators, etc. Hope this helps!

Oh I see. How did you fat graft go? I also want that to reduce my pore visibility. They have become more noticeable with volume/fat loss.

i also want to improve the skin quality. Skin products can only do so so. Im in my 20s so no major lines yet, just dull uneven skin with big pores, white- and black heads and acne scar. im recoverying from co2 laser atm for my scars. hope to see improvement after a few months. im looking for skin care clinics in korea. maybe we're better off going to skin care clinics than doing skin at plastic surgery clinics?

how was the PRP recovery? did they told you to do prp several times for best effect? I did co2 and im 8 days post op and still have scabs. it's a long recovery which is why i want to try milder laser.

I think she got PRP mixed with her fat graft! So probably however long it takes for the fat graft to swell down and take.
I want the needling so it goes right to the skin. I have minor lines under my eyes, but I think they've been there a while and it's just how my face is. My pores and fat loss worry me the most! My pores aren't even clogged. They're just bigger now. How was laser? You should do a Manuka honey and turmeric mask, as it's a great antiinflammatory. Ingest turmeric as well. I make it in a tea sometimes.
Do you live in Korea currently?

im only 8 days post op with scabs, it's a long recovery since it's a strong laser. i wont see the final result until a few months but i it does looks like my scars are less visible. ill try a ligther laser for my face, just dont know which yet since the options are endless.

I hear very mixed reviews about microneedling. My concern is the skin texure, so im looking for treatments that will make the skin even and brighter.

I have one fine line under my eyes which i want to diminish. ive read many reviews about co2 (or laser in general) laser where patients experienced fat loss in cheek area which made them look older. How's that possible? I didn't knew in the first place that skin laser could even do that.

ill visit korea this year for surgery but i also want to find a good skin clinic. when are you going?

Microneedling is to help skin texture? Is that the same as vampire face lift with the blood? You can try microdermabrasion to help skin texture I've done it a few times. Don't use it too often because if your skin has not enough time to heal it can make you rougher

A vampire facelift can be done with just PRP injections, but in the US I've seen it used with microneedling. I think I saw it advertised in Korea once where they just dermaroll your face and then rub PRP. But essentially yeah, I think it's a Vampire Facelift.
I saw a dermatologist from New York on Realfself answer a question about scars and pores, he claimed the only thing he has seen work well was subcision with maybe a peel and microneedling. I've heard good things. I just haven't seen microneedling listed on any websites in Korea

I've read mixed reviews also, but honestly it couldn't hurt. I feel like a lot of people are irritated that it doesn't diminish scarring as much as they wanted, but that isn't my worry. I want to build collagen and have stronger skin. I also have a very skin beneficial diet going on right now, so my body will be working well and can focus on skin healing.

That's why I'm afraid of lasers. I've read so many things in Realfself about people's fat melting off their face. IMO it's because fat cells are killed by accident, or maybe there's a collagen reaction. I've also heard of people getting little hole-like scars that get worse, others who have never had visible pores suddenly have big ones. I've read posts by Caucasians, East and West Asians that it's happened to. So I don't think it's skin type. Idk Realfself freaks me out lol. My skin is already Irish and I don't want to risk it.

I have to get my visa figured out, but not for anoth 5 months.

Dermatology clinics are more likely to offer microneedling, I've seen it listed on Oracle clinic's website. Not so sure about Hus-hu, Leaders, Renewme or maylin but you can try checking them out.

Looks like me and you have been roaming on RS extensively lol very every skin type can be prone to it. Some patients ended up with deeper lines around mouth, eyes and what not. That's frightening. CO2 is effective if your skin reacts well to it but it's a very risky laser and complications can be severe. My first co2 was few years ago and I'll be prone to get temporary hyperpigmentation since im skin type 3, but im willing to go through that phase if my deep scars (main concern) will diminish. im in my 20s and although my cheeks are not as plump as i want them to be,i do not want to lose any volume. doctors on RS seem to have very different opinions about this topic, f.ex https://www.realself.com/question/laser-resurfacing-cause-fat-loss-from-face-skin here you'll see that every dr will agree that laser will not cause fat loss

either way, finding a reputable skin clinic is your best bet. i dont think ill do co2 again in korea since the recovery is too long but id be interested in other lasers where i dont have to walk around with scabs for 10-someting-days post op

Woah, the lasers caused deeper lines?? I wonder if it's because it's a burn? Some if the photos I've seen, the skin looks burned and dry. I'm so curious as to why it only happens to some.
Ugh I know! Some reviews are really helpful, but I also know Realfself is the Yelp of plastic surgery :P. If someone is unhappy, they post things like "NEVER DO THIS EVER IT NEVER WORKS EVER MY LIFE IS RUINED ALSO THIS SURGEON IS EVIL!!!1!". Although, some instances are justified of course. But you definitely see a lot of dysmorphia. Stuff that other people can't see or notice. I think I have that complex about my pores...I'm trying not to!
I'm a little confused about my skin type.
My mom is Caucasian/Native American, so she tans easily. She had freckles when she was my age though. My dad is rosacea cheeked, freckled arms, white white skin! I was born very dark, but lightened after puberty and stayed inside haha. I get darker when I'm in the sun for 20 min without protection. If it's an hour without, I could burn a little. I can get darker, but I have that redness in my cheeks like my dad. Genetics are weird and I feel like I'm a weird mix.

I've read so many reports of fat loss from people who've undergone laser it's scared me off from getting it done. Basically a laser heats your skin very fast and it can kill the underlying fat cells. Here's a video from a plastic surgeon where he talks about that: youtu.be/X71E0ynimuc?t=4m3s

If you do laser, it's important the right settings are used, if you have tan skin you need to make sure they lower the setting compared to someone who has light skin. Also as that video alludes to a doctor has to take time into account and not use the laser too long on a certain area. Much like a blowdryer even if the heat setting is correct, point it too long on a certain area and you will end up with heat damage. Make sure to ask the doc questions on what they do to prevent fat loss from laser before letting them work on your face, if they have no protocols for it go somewhere else.

Very true, ive seen many reviews were the patients had SPOTLESS face, yet theyre going full on with co2 laser just for 3 small scars. Others ended up with permanent changes to skin pigmentation. Did you read about the caucasian woman who ended up with brown skin on Its hard to determine how the skin will react after laser. Some reviews are terrifying - enough to almost scaring me off from doing it. Ive been told to stay away from co2 since i tan easily and asians are more prone to hyperpigmentation. I did fractional and not ablative, my scabs are off and the face is red but i do see a difference when it comes to the deep scars that i used to have. You could perhaps start with a mild laser on certain areas to see how the skin will react? The options are endless so ill have to do thorough research when it comes to what laser to choose to rejuvenate the skin.

Did the reports mentioned co2 or laser in general? It does makes sense about the heating, I know that the highest co2 power setting is very aggressive but i would never thought that it's so strong that it would go as far as literally burning the fat. My dr did used a a high setting for the ice pick scars. How it hurts!! Im a whimp but it felt like i was getting tattoo on my face. Thanks for the link, ill have a look
