wishingstar Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 I see Whitening Injections (glutathione administered via IV) advertised by almost all of the clinics and dermatologists in Korea, and I heard that a lot of Asian celebrities use this to lighten their skin. What do you guys think - Is it safe? / Any side effects? (hope it's not cancer-inducing or a trigger for other health problems) And does it actually work? Any tips or opinions from anyone who's either looked into this or done this would be much appreciated. Thanks!
missj93 Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 There's some academic articles that say they contain ingredients at lethal amounts. My friend in Korea knows people who have done them before and while I haven't heard about any bad cases, I did hear it takes continued use to show an improvement
gats Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 I heard it works but you need repeated treatments every few weeks to see noticeable results. Another thing to keep in mind is the whitening effect is not permanent, if you stop doing the injections, your melanin production and your color goes back to normal. As for its safety, the FDA hasn't approved this yet so you are making a bit of a gamble. It's common in Korea so that's a good sign, but long term is what I'd be concerned about.
summerflower0 Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 I did see a lady once with this really white transparent skin, so beautiful, she did injections. My major concern is health issue.
gongcha Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 I think its ok if u have injection but not too regularly.. so for example 6 weeks regular injection then u have it once every 2 or 3 months to give your liver rest from these overwhelming vitamins going into your body. (if u want to maintain). I read korean reviews saying it doesn't work. I did Cinderella Injection and i felt like my bb cream went from 23 to 21.. maybe it was just me. i want to try the whitening injection so bad too but after seeing the review it kind of threw me off.
fiona08 Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Hi Gongcha, WHat Cinderella injection did you mean? I want to try the whitening injection in Korea too. I will be in Seoul in december
gongcha Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 there are so many types of injections. there are vitamins, cinderella and whitening injection. i feel like whitening will work better than cinderella koz cinderella injection is for overall health, weight loss and a little bit of whitening. but i'm not sure if weight loss part is working or am i a pig eating too much lol
reikanon Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 I'm also curious to hear about any firsthand experience from someone who has done this... If you google 'glutathione injection korea' (or something like that) the first result is a review and apparently they are about 50,000krw per shot and you can do it twice a week. Also I'm pretty sure 'cinderella' injection and the 'snow white' or glutathione/whitening injection are different things since every time I've seen them advertised on clinic websites they are separate and basically one is aimed at 'weight loss' and the other full body whitening. I'm inclined to think the whitening injection at least does whiten from what I've heard about glutathione in general, just not sure if doing it as a foreigner for like 1 month will be enough to see any real effect?@gongcha did you feel your cinderella injection(s) were worth it? would love to know how many sessions you did/cost etc!
fiona08 Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 @gongcha: Thank you so much for your info. I think im going to try the AA injection at Wonjin as one of my friend has done it and seeing very good result.
summerflower0 Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 I thought snow white is whitening jab right? I heard of cinderella jab too and it was mainly loads of vit C injection in your body...
zz111 Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 yes, i heard the same, the only way it'll work is if you continuously do it
summerflower0 Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 I only did once snow white but my mom said i got fairer than before and PRP did work the magic may be. My friends haven't seen me for year said my skin was much nicer and younger. I think I will go back to Korea to do again. As long as I don't overdo it, once a year I think.
apattani Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 Hi, I'm a reporter at the New York Times covering health stories. I'm interested in learning more about the use of glutathione injections for skin lightening and would love to speak with anyone who has experience with it. I'm curious to find out how you learned about it, what treatments are like, how effective it is, and more. If you'd be open to sharing your experience with me or if you have any questions before we talk, please send me an email at [email protected]. Thank you.
alara Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 I tried and I did it for over 2 months, no side effects...my sweat turned orange after 2 months (it's back to normal now lol), anyways no harmful side effects, but no visible whitening, it did however erase almost all my acne, no kidding. and it prevented acne from appearing when I eat dairy/high sugar foods, it improved my immune system overall. but no high glutathione dose at where I live currently so I'm just taking vit C injections because I like what it did to my skin. I started when I was in Japan, the dose was really big, 30,000 and after two weeks upped to 50,000 which kinda burned (vit c + gluta + linoleic acid) the duration is 1 hrdoctor in Tokyo told me If I wanted to see any kind of result I'll need to do it weekly for a year. in Seoul it was really mild in dosage compared to Tokyo, the dose was obviously less, it didn't burn, and took 15 mins instead of an hour....
vandung Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 I did some research and found the glutathione injection from Swiss is good, but it's so difficult to buy their product because they don't sell it online
