I see a lot of clinics offering front cheek implant. I assume this means submalar implants. I've only found one review of someone who has had it done on Realfself, and they deleted their post. I also don't see many before and afters. Has anyone had this done?
It seems like most people go for the fat transfer for a flat, sagging midface. But a permanent solution sounds a lot better?

I've seen some people who have had theirs last about up to 3 years with a 2nd top off. I believe it all depends. Have you had it done?

I had fat transfer to my front cheeks nearly 3 years ago and my cheeks are still very full and I didn't have any topup. My doctor said it would last at least 5 years but I don't believe my fat will be gone in the next 2 years. I know people who had fat graft 7 years ago and still look good. I think it all depends on your body and the technique.

Where did you have your fat transfer??
Did they do PRP or stem cell?

I agree, I think it is very technique dependent. I also feel that fat will have a better survival rate if you are younger and already have some fat for the blood vessels to attach. It may be harder to fat to survive when moved to a very very gaunt face that has little fat left.

Yes pleaseee, where did you have it done?!!!! I also need fat graft because I suffer from fat loss from laser damage..

So you mean you have a slow metabolism? I have read if your metabolism is fast the fat will be gone very soon. Also what was the technique your doctor used? Open graft or tiny tiny droplets? If it was the second, how big were the droplets? The smallest I have ever seen is 0,02cc.

Thank you!

I had it done in Europe, not Korea though but I guess it should be similar. As I remember, my doctor said he injected fat cells slowly deep down in different levels, and it's just normal fat transfer. I have very fast metalbolism - I am very slim and very difficult to gain weight but my face is not gaunt. However, I was very swollen for 2-3 months after the procedure and I have seen people who had fat transfer done in Korea looking good even after a week.

I just recently did cheek implants at TLPS
I think it's looking natural and also I'm happy knowing it will be permanent. I think the most important thing is to make sure your surgeon uses screws in the implants so they have zero risk of moving around. The worst thing that could happen is they move and look asymmetrical Years later so you should ask your doctor about that risk.

I personally prefer fat graft, even if it's not permanent, at least if you don't like the results it wears off. And you have less risks of infections or complications

Hey, I was wondering if your cheek implant covers your under eye area because my under eye area is a little sunken.

Yes, I agree with you. so that's why i wanna do FG rather than implant

To be honest, in korea everyone does fat grafting nowadays
It's gotten a little cheaper than before (for locals) with all these deals and all and also because it has become common
For some people it's not even a surgery anymore, I mean it's now as invasive as bone shaving for example, more like a skin treatment
Fat grafting does not last very long, but it is much safer.

If I could I would personnally do fat grafting right now lol

I was also interested in cheek implants/paranasal implants, but I haven't heard a lot of good cases where the patient was 100% satisfied so... yeah
I couldn't find any other alternative for that that is permanent, sorry
