Male PS Journey

Recommended Posts

If you're going for the natural look, I'd recommend Misarang (they also do women). They don't have an English website, though, so that might be why they're not popular here. But I like their results.
A lot of male-oriented clinics are very... ahem, very exclusively for men. Not to be too graphic, but Korea is also the capital of "something" enlargement surgery (that probably deserves its own thread). Not suggesting that anybody here needs that, of course, but be aware that a lot of cosmetic surgery for men isn't necessarily advertised as such. Man and Nature, for example. started out doing hair transplants before getting into plastic surgery.

nice, the models look gorgeous. Where did you hear about this place?

Seems like their site doesn't much before/after pics? Unless there is a before/after, does models they use actually matter? I always wonder why PS clinics hire models for shoots that haven't had any work done with them or why they pose with K-pop stars who haven't had work done there. It's misleading advertising IMO.

Not sure, but usually clinics use their best work as models. At least those morally upright ones.

Hi FreshLook, I found the doctor/clinic after stalking this hair restoration website for years (http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/). Initially, it was just to see if there are alternative cures discovered as I was taking meds but seeing that there has been significant improvement in the skill and technique of hair transplant over the years (when I started there were mostly horror stories of botch hair transplants that i never considered it), I finally decided to go ahead seeing consistency of good results.

My criteria for a good doctor is number of operations done (the more the better), success rate of surviving grafts (90%+), technique used (some techniques causes scarring and yields poor result), donor site scarring (it should be near-undetectable) and skill in making hairlines (many doctors fail at this and make perfectly odd straight hairlines, too high, too low or facing the wrong direction). Unfortunately, korean hair transplant clinics have very limited information (mostly a photo of a bald person and another photo with full hair) so I decided to go with those with the most reviews and photos.

Yes and it is encouraged by the doctors. If you plan not to take meds after transplant and have MPB, chances are the doc will recommend you a very conservative (high hairline/light density) transplant for future coverage on the subsequent balding areas.

Oh i see...One more question is it possible to do a second hair transplant surgery in order to have more dense hair or you will hurt your scalp? I'm really interest to do a hair transplant in the future because my hair have already started to fall even though i am young and it's very devastating for my psychology...

Yes it is possible to do a 2nd and even 3rd transplant but you need to wait for a year after the 1st transplant grew and the donor area to heal. I was thinking of doing a 2nd transplant next year but still on the fence on it. I probably can get away with what I have right now as my hairline (provided I don't style my hair backwards) but you know, sometimes we want more.

Oh sorry to hear that, I would still recommend you check with your doctor and try the meds first and get the falling under control as a transplant can only move hair from the back of your head to the front or top (which makes it quite limiting). I am personally hoping that with new advances in the next 5-10 years we would have a more permanent solution rather than moving hair around.

Thank you so much for your helpful advice. It seems that you are well informed about this topic and you searched a lot before you make your decision!

I really hope my dandruff doesn't cause any problem to the transplant hair because it gets quite severe sometimes.

It shouldn't be a problem but then the doctor might recommend you use medicated shampoo for a while. I would suggest if Head and Shoulders doesn't work you can try Nizoral 2% (15 mins, 3x a week). I have oily scalp so I do Nizoral 2% 2-3 times a week and J&J Baby Shampoo every other day. If you have any questions feel free to kakao me (kk id: jaspsev), easier to answer there.
