linlin18 Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 Hello everyone, I've read a lot of posts about experiences pre- and post surgery. But does any one have experiences about 2, 3 or even 5 years down the line? Did you notice any complications developing in the long run? How did the surgeries hold up? Thanks!
missfitt Posted November 6, 2016 Posted November 6, 2016 I would like to know this too. I read people who do nose say the nose will "drop" and have to redo again and again. How true is this and does it happen to everyone?
jennie0906 Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 Well, my nose started to drop 3 months after the surgery.
alliwish Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 Hope me sharing my experience can give reassurance to some people. I had my nose surgery almost 3 years ago.(2yrs and 9 months to be exact) I was kinda ok with my nose even after two weeks from the surgery but was a bit worried about the possible "over-projection" of my tip. It wasn't like my nose was ugly overall but I just found it a bit unnatural with such a high tip when I'm Asian. But still couldn't complain since it was my revision case and my first nose job gave me a trauma... so i was telling myself it's still better than my previous nose even though it wasn't "perfect". But after a few more weeks of deswelling, it became much smaller and natural to my 99% satisfaction!(I'm sorry but I don't believe in 100% in anything. lol) Then another worry came to my mind. "What if both my tip and bridge keep getting lower and lower?". Since the doctor told me the complete healing? de-swelling? will gradually take place over 6 months. Well, to my relief, the tip got a bit smaller and the bridge looked a bit.. umm.. slimmer? but it still remained as 98% perfect nose for my liking. I loved it. I was(and still am) very happy and felt much more confident.(was suffering a lot from the previous botched nose). Then my next concern was "what if it droops?!". I bothered my translator(now I'm confident to call him my friend since we talked for almost 3 years now hehe) a lot and he was honest enough to tell me that every human's nose tip droops as one ages. But he reassured me that my tip was made of my own cartilage so there won't be any complications or a sudden collapse/drooping. He also told me to focus less on my nose for some time for my own happiness. Now it's been almost 3 years. Long story short, I'm still happy, don't regret my decisions and definitely not in need of another revision. Who knows down the road after like 10 years but from what I monitored for 3 years I don't think any major complication or change will take place anytime soon. Sometimes I feel my tip angle got a bit downward but then one day I see the mirror I don't notice any difference.(so maybe it's in my head? nah... I'm sure it became at least teeny tiny more downward). But I think it actually is becoming more natural for my face. Like really becoming my own nose.. hard to explain lol. The reason I'm writing this post is that... I've been there. I've been through a lot of stress and concerns, many nights of fear, many paranoid days, I was even undergoing depression after my first nose surgery. I hope it's less hard for other people who are undergoing plastic surgery by reading my positive post. I wish my successful experience with happy ending helps other people by giving at least a bit of reassurance.

fairybox Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 Ahhh, it's reassuring to hear you still like your nose did they ever recommend Dr Jae to you for nose? I can't Dr Kim on their website and Dr Jae was recommended to me as he is the rhinoplasty specialist...thankyou!
alliwish Posted November 17, 2016 Posted November 17, 2016 Hehe, we are talking about the same person. Kim is his last name. Dr.Jae Hoon Kim. Yes, I still like it. Not only the shape but how my tip got softer over the time. In my previous surgery it was very hard and stiff. But now I can even rotate it! (Thanks to this my new bf doesn't know I had nose job. hehe Not that I was intentionally hiding though. He just assumed I didn't have one and it was kinda awkward for me to say I actually did...)
alliwish Posted November 17, 2016 Posted November 17, 2016 You are welcome. And I am sorry but please PM me if you have any private questions. I had.. not so pleasant experience with sharing my personal messenger last time when I first posted my surgery experience. It is nothing personal to you please do not get offended or anything. Sincerely hope you understand, Gantz!!
