My epicanthoplasty nightmare

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I had an epicanthoplasty at teium a few months ago. Dr kwon had convinced me so well that any trace of the surgery would be invisible. I am not sure what happened, if it was a botch job or just unfortunate healing, but the epicanthoplasty scar left behind was terrible. Both eyes have obvious lines of surgery and everyone has been asking me about them. I am a guy and I only wanted subtle, unnoticeable change.

To make things worse, the epicanthoplasty did not even do much to make me look better.

I consulted a doctor back in my country about the scars and he told me it was a botch job and that most epicanthoplasty scars are not like mine, which is a large gash on one eye and a clear surgical line on the other.

Had I known that the procedure would leave visible scars, I never would have done it.

I purposely did closed rhinoplasty to avoid the scar, and it sucks that I have an even worse scar right at my eyes instead.

To anyone considering DES, I suggest you just go with DES without the epicanthoplasty. Epicanthoplasty was the biggest mistake I have ever made.

Aw I'm sorry that you had to go through this.. But there are people who certainly would look better with epicanthoplasty if they have mongolian folds or the distance between the eyes is far. Of course, the doctor who performs must have a good skill

How has teium responded? Would you do free revision if they offered?

It would be nice if you could post pics of the scars as if you want to warn people against getting DES at this clinic, pics of the botch job are the most memorable way. Your whole face isn't needed, just a close up of each eye with your eye closed to show the scar, it maintain your privacy. Thanks.

Some form of line is inevitable. Even with caucasians they have crease line. But if its a bumpy scar that protrudes from the skin then try kenacort injections. I used them after my incisional eyelid in la and it worked well after 2-3 sessions. I also applied kelocote daily to speed up the process. My scar started off bumpy at first but later regressed into a faint crease line and is no longer visible following the treatment

I have an indented hole at the side of my eye that's very large. At the other eye there was nothing at first but after dermatix and a few months there is a very clear indented line at the bottom of my eye, all the way to the corner.

It's in no way invisible at all.

Yes. But for some reason my eyes look too close together on my face now given my wider cheekbones....so I'm considering cheekbone reduction now...

Yea I agree with @fairybox. you can consider getting epicanothplasty revision before getting cheekbone reduction :/

would you say it was possible to convince him to do it without epi? seems like he is a really big believer in epi through other forums
