My Experience With TLPS in South Korea

Recommended Posts

Hello all! I'm a 24 year old Caucasian girl from USA. Just yesterday I had my surgery with TLPS and will be updating this thread with my experience and results. I did a chin reduction (t osteotomy), rhino revision, cheek implants, and fat graft to my under eyes and nasolabial folds.
I emailed and consulted with several clinics but most of them were wayyy out of budget for me so I had narrowed it down to few clinics. Melissa is my English consultant with TLPS and has been soooo sweet the entire way. I got a good discount for combining surgeries and paying cash (USD) which saved me over $1500 off the total price!
I sent in my deposit with a bank transfer and booked my flight. Melissa helped me find a cheap hotel (60$ per night) and airport pickup. I met with and Dr. Choi Sewoon yesterday after doing all my pre op appointments at the clinic. All of the staff were really nice to me and Melissa even held my hand when I got my needle injection because I'm so afraid of needles haha During my consultation with the dr it felt like he was really busy and in kind of a hurry but I still did get all of my 100 questions answered. He eventually suggested to my to get my undereyes filled with fat graft which I wasn't originally intending to do but they gave me a good price within my budget - plus it's something I've always wanted fixed. I originally was going to just get an alarplasty for my nose but settled on a full rhino revision instead because again, it will turn out better and they were able to keep this extra surgeries within my budget. Also I learned from them if I'm unhappy with anything then they offer FREE REVISION 6 months later! How many clinics actually offer and follow through with this in you guys opinions?
I did my surgery that same day (yesterday) and spent few hours in recovery. Unfortunately I didn't see Dr. Choi again after the surgery but hopefully I will in my next appointments with them.
So far my recovery has been realllyyyy hard! I think I did way too many surgeries at once. I can't speak at all and can barely swallow water, let alone pills...
Will update! So far it's only been 1 day since my surgery haha

HI! I wish you a speedy recovery.... How was your nose shaped prior to revision rhino? Was your nose large, bulbous, wide, slim etc.
Also, did you view any before and after pictures of people who got surgeries?

Thanks! The bridge was a bit wide but very high naturally and not in need of any implants. My nostrils were also wide especially when I smile.
Yes on the website and during consultation I was shown lots of pictures.

Yep! Dark circles are almost always genetic. I do have thin skin also.

*1 WEEK POST OP*
I'm still reallyyy swollen with a small amount of bruising but I feel so much better! Every day I feel just a little bit better and have less swelling. The hardest part has been with speaking because I have stitches on the bottom AND top insides of my mouth so they're kind of preventing my lips from moving. But I can almost smile now.
I've had 3 appointments in the last week at TL, and on my one today I met again with the doctor. My cheek implants are still really weird looking and uneven but the doctor told me this will take the longest to heal and look normal. My nose splint and remaining stitches were removed and it looks great! I'm so so happy with it. The bridge is really narrow and my nostrils are so small already even though there is a lot more deswelling left to do. But the best part is my chin already looks very v shaped and cute regardless of the swelling. I can't wait to see how it will look like after a month.
The people at the clinic are so sweet and gave me like 20 packets of pumpkin juice to take home since my first batch finished, and also some extra mouth wash and tooth brush! At my other appointments I received an anti-swelling injection (in the butt lol!) and at this 3rd appointment I did a laser deswelling treatment. So far everything has been included for free with my surgery including hotel pickup, and I have my next appointment in a week to remove a stitch in my bellybutton from the fat graft.
Overall I'm really happy with my experience at TL, and especially Melissa has been the best  She even messages me to check up on how I'm doing and to give post op advice.

I paid a bit less than $8000, which is after the cash discount and combined surgery discount. I told them my budget when I was in person for the consultation and Melissa told me she could work with me so I would be able to add on the rhino revision and fat graft.
Originally I was going to pay $6000 (after discounts) for just cheek implants and chin reduction.

Hello! I am so happy to hear your recovery is going well. Did they show before and after pictures for rhinoplasty, or cheek implants?

Thank you
Yes they showed me a few on the computer that I asked to see during consultation. For nose I saw pictures on their website so I didn't ask to see any more, but I'm sure you could without a problem. There are also these books everywhere in the different waiting rooms of before and afters for face/boobs/body/etc

Haha because Korean surgery is the best! I couldn't find many doctors at all who do a v-shaped chin/jaw that well in USA.
And it's also a lottt cheaper then the USA. If I had done all these surgeries in the US, it would have costed probably $20,000 - $30,000. I've actually even started encouraging some of my american friends to go to Asia for surgeries they want because it's just so much cheaper.

wow you got very good price! Melissa quote me quite expensive. Overall I have to pay 21,000 USD for facial contouring, eye revision, rhinoplasty and cheek implants.

Wow really? I don't understand why. Maybe just try bargaining when you're here in person? That's what I see a lot of people on this forum recommending to do instead of just emails.

how did you go about choosing the right size of cheek implants? im interested since my front cheeks (frontal only) are too flat and i want them to be quite full. hard to find clinics in sk that does cheek implants and it seems like tlps is one of the few. wish you a speedy recovery!
