Facelift, Endoscopic Brow Lift & DES at April31 Clinic

Recommended Posts

I want to share my PS experience especially on facelift and forehead lift since there were very limited reviews in the PF and it was difficult to find an experienced doctor who are expert in facelift. Facelift is one of the major surgery and we must be very careful in selecting the right and experience surgeon to avoid nerve damage and complications.

My objectives are to fix my droopy, asymmetric eyelids and pouchy area around my jawline. While I was in Korea, I have 3 consultations and finally decided to choose April31 clinic.

April31
Went to the clinic in the afternoon and the clinic is cosy and staff was very attentive. I was greeted by Brian and filled up the form. Brian kept me company while waiting to see the drs. I was brought into a consulting room and without having to wait too long Dr Won Suk Oh, the eyes specialist came to see me. Dr Oh could not speak English and Brian was helpful translating my concern to him. Dr Oh moved my forehead few times and touches my eyes and recommended endoscopic forehead lift and revision DES since I wanted a higher crease. He said by just having revision DES will not fix my problem. He does not recommend epi or lateral canthoplasty. Dr Oh was very patient to address my all questions and not pushy at all.

After seeing Dr Oh, Dr Joo Heon Lee the facelift specialist see me immediately. Dr Lee can speak English well enough and I found Dr Lee very professional, pleasant and very detailed. He told me what I can achieve by doing facelift, lipo, acculift and fat graft for undereyes.

In terms of pricing, I will name from highest to cheapest – April31, JW and Dream. After much consideration, I decided to opt for April31 as I want the best surgeon for my face.

I had surgery on 26 Oct morning. I was greeted by Brian at the reception and later Dr Oh and Dr Lee design my face in the surgery room. By the time I was conscious it was already around 10pm. Brian and the nurse transferred me to the recovery room and I barely could see anything. Throat was very dried and I could only have water 2 hours later. Nurse placed ice pack on my eyes and I could not sleep the night. Next morning, eyes were superbly swollen and I was in total darkness. Dr Lee and Dr Oh checked on me and later the nurse help to clean the wound. My face was like chipmunk. With my condition, Brian was kind enough to allow me to rest longer in the recovery room and bought pumpkin porridge for me. Brian arranged the driver to send me back to the apartment and ensure that I settled in.

It was quite challenging for the first few days as my eyes and face were very swollen coupled with poor vision. However, I do not feel much pain for the endoscopic brow and facelift. On day 3, Dr Lee gave me a deswelling jab and it really help and I noticed the swelling started to subside the next day.

Again, Brian arranged transportation for the next few following up sessions till my vision is good enough to go by myself to the clinic. I had to visit the clinic on alternate day basis for dressing and I was glad that Dr Lee always checked on me and update my status.

On day 5 during the dressing visit, I notice my face is smaller even though it was swollen. Dr Lee removed the blood drainage and change to headband compressor.

On day 10, Dr Lee checked on me and informed me that so far the wound was healing nicely and the recovery was a bit slow for the first week. Dr said my case was little different as I have a thin skin coupled with my tissues were quite soft. Dr advised me to eat more protein and walk more to boost up recovery.

On day 13, final check up by both drs said I am good to go home. However, Dr Lee advised that I need to continue to wear the headband compressor for another 3 weeks for better results.

Currently I am 3 weeks from post op and still in the recovery stage. Eventhough my face still bruised and swollen but I could tell that my face is much smaller and slimmer which is the result I was longing for. My brow and eyes were no longer droopy and sleepy but still swollen. I will continue to update my recovery periodically.

Thanks for the update Michelle. Glad to hear that you are recovering well.
Do you still feel numb around the head area?
I suffer from darker eye bags after endoscopic (had surgery same day as yours) and now they are still there, which makes my eyes much more hollow. Does it happen to you?

hi there, thanks for sharing your experience, wising u speedy recovery.

if I may ask though, did the Dr suggested FG around your eye area or only at the bottom part?

I have a dark looking tired, depressed and looks hallow so Im thinking maybe a lift and FG will make it the appearance improve however, Im just worried that FG around they eyes might stop the blood circulation and can cause blindness. (based on what Ive read online, I dunno if theres any truth of it though).

Thanks!
