Anyone in Seoul from Nov-Dec 2016? Revision at DA - update review

I had my surgery in early September and I underwent facial contouring and fat graft injection. I speak Korean, but not decent enough, I guess. Enough to get around. Anyway, first they INSISTED on charging me, what? double? for the surgery because I am a foreigner. I mean, I speak the language and I don't need a translator, even though they insissssssssssted I have one. Even though my translator was present, I continued to speak in Korean, proving I dont need one. Yet they still insisted they needed to charge me for one since I am literally a foreigner. What a scam for money. Anyway, none of that would have been a problem if the surgery was a success. But honestly, sitting in their waiting room, it really seemed like all of the patients there were from China, not even a hint of local patients. Shouldn't that have been a tell tale sign?

My bruising was still apparent after MONTHS and I did continue to follow-up with the translator I didnt even need and I DID send photos. I sent photos and checked back both through the Korean and English messaging system. Guess what? NO LUCK.

They would either say they would get back to me or just completely read it and ignoreeeeeeeee.

I am on my third month post op, and as you all know, their ridiculous "wait six months" ********. If they don't get back to me when that time comes, you will all hear from me again.

I WOULD NOT recommend DA, but I will keep you updates. My six month mark is in March.

Wow, just 3 months ago DA had nothing but glittering and flawless reviews from this forum. I'm not sure how many of those reviews were sponsored or simply fictitious, but I'm glad more unsatisfied patients of DA are speaking out and letting us know the truth about this clinic. Needless to say, DA is forever off my list now. In fact, I'll place DA together with the likes of ID, BK, Wonjin and Grand. Be careful and stay safe ladies.

I agree Is anyone else gonna be in Korea around Jan or Feb? I'm in Korea now until Thursday. From Japan if anyone else is interested in chatting. I'm thinking about doing rev des and nostril surgery.

My meeting with the doctor was HORRIBLE. He did not want to be held responsible at all and he didn't even look at the B&A picture that i showed him ( there were lots of them, each displaying how horrible i look after FG that's done by him ). He insisted that it is normal that the result isn't like what expected and that i don't look abnormal now so the clinic and him did not do anything wrong. He was very ignorant and careless, even when i told him that the result has ruined the past 9 months of my life. The consultant was even worse ( the very fake and skinny looking - dolly like consultant ), she told me that even if the result is unsatisfactory, i cannot do anything because there's no big damage that they can see or i can prove. I had a written statement from the manager in DA that i can get a free revision when i'm back as long as it's 2016, and apparently it is not valid anymore because the manager IS NO LONGER WORKING there. I've never seen such low level of professionalism, seriously WORST clinic ever. The new translator, Olga, was actually kind enough to show a sympathy when i was telling her what i went through. Not only my experience was bad, the result is DISASTER. Now i just have to find other clinic that can fix the damage that DAPRS did.

This explains a lot. I thought I was the only one. When I checked back on my online consultation with them it was someone new each time cause the previous person had quit? That's so weird. I hope your surgery works out girl, where did you end up going?
Please update us! I'm planning to go in Jan all the way from Aussie (bone surgery and nose)

I regretted that i made a hasty decision, only based on this one forum and skimmed through the posts and read "no complaints" and did not even bother to make consultation with other clinic or find out about other clinic. I am looking at other information sources to COMPLEMENT this forum. Where else do you suggest are good for decent research?

Ensure you have Dr Lee do your bone surgery. I saw his Brit/American male patient from tpf there and he showed me so many pre and post photos on his phone and of his ct scans and then I felt his zygoma so Dr Lee is good IMO. I never got around to researching who was best for noses there as I had my rhino in the UK. Rhino needs an expert. Then there is a huge decision to be made re using ear or rib cartilage or ultra soft silicone. As you can see in my avatar, I ended up with a short upturned nose and wonky nostrils but thankfully I can live with this and will not be going for revision.

I love your nose tho.

I ended up with a more natural nose, and now I think that a more upturned nose would suit me more, as mu current nose is too pointy for my rather round face, also the so called tip is very much pulled to one side I think due to tissue tension. But I too can live with it, if it weren't for the over stretched skin break down on the bridge of my nose.

OP thank you for sharing! I am so sorry to hear. I am going to Korea this summer and thinking of DA for facial contour. But like you said good reviews are more common and bad ones get hidden.

Hi @trufflegogo i'm truly sorry to hear about your experience. How is your result now? Any positive changes? Did you try to get in touch with them again? Hope you're well and get some resolution over this.
DA honestly been very dodgy at giving me reply at any cost, so i have been putting them off for a while.

I prefer to go to clinic where locals go. If there were only foreigners while you are in waiting room, I would feel the same like you. I want to listen how is it going..

DO NOT GO TO DA... i agree with @trufflegogo ... it ruined my life and they take NO RESPONSIBILITY for it.. save your money and go somewhere else!

Thank you for the review. I m no longer going to DA / DAPRS because the manager keep trying to extort money from me. They even mention that they will not give me tax rebate if I want a 20% discount. Hence I ask for a refund of my security deposit, the manager then say they will offer me 20% discount + tax rebate but I have to write a review for them.

I feel that this is quite unethical. I hope you are better now!
