zipperfool Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 Hi Angie! Excited to hear how your nose heals in the next few weeks! Please keep us updated What procedures did you get done at April 31 on your nose? Did you get a silicone implant or use cartilage for the bridge/tip area? Alar base reductions, etc? Thanks!
itsangie123 Posted January 23, 2017 Author Posted January 23, 2017 Will do. ^^ I wanted to my reduce bulbous nose, fix my deviated septum, and shave down a little hump on my bridge. I have very thick oily bulbous nose (more complex than typical asian). Dr. Kim said to fix my droopy nose he'll lift it up with septal cartilage (the cartilage that makes your nose seem bulbous). If the septal cartilage was not enough, he will use ear cartilage for the nose tip. He said I needed to add ultra soft silicon OR had the choice to add dermis fat (but couldn't because I was only staying in Korea for a short period) to make a more aesthetically balanced profile since my nose was very bulbous. I didn't want to add anything artificial on my bridge. He stated every year the clinic documents the percentage rate of infection/rejection for the ultra soft silicon and it is VERY rare. He said only 1-2% of time it has rejected from all his patients. I could tell he takes pride in his work (in a very modest way) and seemed very confident in his ability to make my dream nose. Also, if it were to reject or be infected it'll be very easy to remove unlike gortex or rib cartilage. I said the ultra soft silicon must be very small because I don't mind my low bridge since I've always felt confident with that. I really trusted his ability and skills since I've talked to girl who had similar nose as mine and she was thrilled with her results after 2 months. He agreed and used 1-2mm ultra soft silicon for the bridge (very minimal) to balance the tip! So I basically got tip-plasty (add septal cartilage for the tip), fixed deviated septum, bridge augmentation, and hump reduction.
zipperfool Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 Thanks for the detailed response! I'm curious what the dermis fat is like - where do they get the dermis fat from? And will it just make your bridge squishy or does it feel hard? It sounds like a solution that I'm interested in actually since my body is very sensitive to foreign material. How long would you need to stay in Korea to use the dermis fat method? Sorry for so many questions hehe >_<
itsangie123 Posted January 23, 2017 Author Posted January 23, 2017 Mmm I dont remember how long you need to stay since I wasn't eligible for that I didn't pay attention lol. But it takes longer because the stitches will take longer to heal. Dermis fat comes from your butt and will cost more. Best thing to do, is ask them through kakao and get an online consultation. I also had Monica as my translator since Brian was on sick break!
91hsd Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 Hi angie, do u mind sharing the price break-down for ur procedure at april31? I heard they're super expensive? Do u know their policies for returning for a revision too? I'm still trying to convince my parents abt this. But I hope u're doing well & deswelling is quick for u
itsangie123 Posted January 27, 2017 Author Posted January 27, 2017 Mine was pretty expensive (especially if you're going to need a translator). Primary rhino is 6,000,000 Krn Won, but if you have to fix hump, bridge augmentation, or fix deviated septum it will cost more (another 1-3 Mill. Korean won) depending on the situation. Every nose is different, its best to send pictures online and get an approx. estimate through kakao!
itsangie123 Posted January 27, 2017 Author Posted January 27, 2017 UPDATE! IM SO HAPPY AND THRILLED WITH THE RESULTS. Even though its only day 11!! But if any of you have a very thick skin or complicated nose, Dr. Kim is your doctor!! I was super scared on day 6 and felt like I regretted it. But thats very common post-op feeling especially when its very swollen and unusually looking! But I'm beyond grateful for my results and that the whole operation went smoothly. I couldn't have chosen a better doctor. Especially since I thought my nose would be limited with the results since I have thick, bulbous nose. He created the perfect nose that fits with my face. I trusted my gut instinct to go with him and boy was my gut instinct right. April 31 is really expensive though but I'm glad I invested my money in a trustworthy doctor who takes pride in his work! I got other quotes around US $4k with MVP, 6 Million won with JW, etc.. But I immediately knew I had to go with Dr. Kim after talking to a lot of people who got their primary rhino from Dream and JW and then got their revision with Dr. Kim! They're all a lot more content and happy with their secondary revision. I'm so excited to see what my nose looks like in a month and when it swells, settles down!!! Beyond happy now I can go on with my life not thinking about my nose! It's such a big weight lifted off my shoulders. ^^ After this, I would not get anymore plastic surgery.. I'm so content with my face now! People say plastic surgery can be addicting, I have to disagree. Having surgery worked on your face is no joke and gave me A LOT of anxiety post-op knowing a lot of people are not content with their primary rhinoplasty. But it was worth it, especially fixing my nose for medical reasons! ^^
ohblackrabbit Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 @itsangie123 hi may i know how u make appointment with april31?bryan isnt replying my kakao. Thx
itsangie123 Posted January 28, 2017 Author Posted January 28, 2017 Hi Brian is actually on sick break. Best thing to do is message their main kakao in english and they'll transfer you to a english consultant/translator! Kakao: april31
itsangie123 Posted January 28, 2017 Author Posted January 28, 2017 Hi yes i wouldn't mind sending you photos once it has been 3 weeks and settles down if thats okay (I'm still happy compared to my nose before). Haha I just ate some salty fries and spicy food, I felt like the sodium affected it a little. I'm very OCD <_< And He didn't need to use any ear cartilage for the tip since my septum cartilage was enough to use for the tip! I originally just wanted tiplasty but he said it would not look balanced since my bridge was very low. I used 2mm Ultra soft silicone for the bridge to balance my thick tip. The bridge looks very natural which I'm very happy about and he really fixed my droopy tip as well ^^
holly-huynh Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 So happy that you're in love with your results! I am flying out to korea next week and i think april31 is my top choice. Do you have a kakao? I would love to ask you some more questions if you don't mind sharing
