choboca Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 Hi everyone, I just wanted to share my experience with DA plastic surgery. I had vline surgery (jaw reduction and chin work) by Dr Lee, as well as acculift (face fat lipo) + buccal fat removal by Dr. Koo. I am now 3 weeks post-op. I was not sponsored or paid to write this. I don't usually write reviews, but since this forum has helped me a lot in prior to my surgeries and I was really impressed by my overall experience and results by Dr. Lee, I wanted to share my story in hopes that it'll help others too I chose DA because I love their dramatic, dolly results -- I want my face to be as v-line and small as possible. I did read several bad reviews on this forum about their consultants and management, but it was Dr. Lee's skills that I was after. Prior to my consult with DA, I had a consult at Faceline. but because they told me to do way too many procedures than I was comfortable with (and insisted every one of them were necessary), I walked away. The staff and consultants at DA were not the most friendly, but they were efficient, quick, and got the job done. Once I met with Dr. Lee, I knew immediately I wanted him to do my surgeries. He was very warm, friendly, approachable and confident. He was very smiley and positive from the beginning to the very end (consults, day of surgery, post-ops). have met my fair share of plastic surgeons, and I must say, he was surprisingly the most personable and amiable. And most importantly, he listened and cared about my thoughts and opinions. For example, Faceline insisted I needed a zygoma reduction, but Dr. Lee said if I wasn't comfortable with it and didn't want to do it, I don't have to. He can achieve the drastic results I want without the added procedure. Once I scheduled the surgery for first thing Monday morning, they did a complete physical and bloodwork in preparation for the general anesthesia. On the day of surgery, after my final consult with the 2 doctors, I was so nervous I had a breakdown. One of the nurses saw me, and comforted me. All the nurses I encountered at DA (except for one) were well-mannered and pleasant. My surgery took about 3 hours, and I woke up shivering and nauseated. My throat was dry, but I wasn't allowed to drink for another 3 hours. I was in pain and agony, but after a couple of hours (once the GA is out of my system) I felt better. The pain killer in my IV line was stopped until late at night because it made me too nauseated. Overnight, the nurse came in to check on me every 2 hours and my pain level was never more than 4-5 out of 10. That day of surgery was the worst. The next morning they pulled out my drains in the OR and stitched me up -- not painful, just uncomfortable and scary. Then I was discharged and just rested in my hotel room for the next 3 days (these first 3 days were the worst in terms of swelling). Day 4 post-op, I went back to get my incisions sterilized and for deswelling treatments. By this time, I was already up and about, and was comfortable doing my daily activities. One week post-op, they told me to slowly and carefully remove the tapes on my chin and jaw (I had to use a lot of baby oil to avoid pulling on the skin too hard). Once the tapes were off, I was very happy and beyond satisfied with the results. No matter how swollen I was, I could already see a clear v-line. The results were already very obvious, which makes me even more impatient to see how it'll look in 3-6months. Day 10 post op I came in for sterilization and deswelling treatments. After two weeks, they removed my stitches. Stitches around the jawline did not hurt at all, but stitches around the chin area really hurt (7/10). But overall, it was manageable and wasn't as bad as others described (probably because I took two tylenols before stitch removal). After another round of deswelling treatments, I met Dr. Lee one last time, and after showing me my before after CT scans, even he was ecstatic at the results. Dr. Koo wasn't available until later that afternoon, so I didn't meet with him. At 3 weeks post-op, I'm back doing my daily routine. People who know I had surgery don't think I look swollen, and can already see results. They're surprised when I tell them I'm still very swollen. I still have to eat soft foods until 1 month post-op (don't believe it when people tell you you can eat solids by 2 weeks -- your body will tell you when you're ready or not). I still gargle every 2 hours and wear my compression bands intermittently when I'm home. I talk with a lisp (which I seriously hope will go away with time), and it feels like I have braces on my lower gum area where the incisions are. There is some tingling and weird sensations every once in a while, but nothing painful or overly uncomfortable. Overall, I'm very happy with my experience at DA and with Dr. Lee and Dr. Koo. I"m looking forward to my final results -- although both doctors warned me to be patient because it will take 3-6 months. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask

redandblack Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 Whats the difference between mini vline and normal v line?
amber-fate Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 Wow! Do they offer facelifts? And I would love to see a before and after!
everyonelovespretty Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 Thank you so much for ur post! A b&a maybe?
itsamemario Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Congrats! I'm taking a very similar path as you: V-line at the face dental and facial lipo (under jaw area only) at golden line. But unfortunately there was some miscommunication, and I thought I could do facial lipo after 2 weeks, but the dr insisted when I saw him face to face that it had to be 2 months. So did you do lipo and facial contouring at the same time?
mlydzz Posted May 29, 2017 Posted May 29, 2017 Does anyone know how much time i have to wait after eyes, rhino and FC surgery to get fat graft?
