lemon90 Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 Hello everyone who reads this post. I did post some replies regarding my experience of going to several clinics in South Korea for facial contouring surgery and I just wanted to share the details with you by this thread. I had a round of consultations at Regen, Cinderella, View, Korea, Top Class, Wonjin and DA last year, but I was still a little hesitant about undergoing surgery then, but this year I decided to go ahead with the surgery and visited 4 clinics that were "in my opinion" good at V-line/Facial Contouring Surgery. The clinics that I went to were: TL, Wonjin, ID and DA. They were all famous for facial contouring surgeries and I had a consultation at each clinic. Here is my opinion - and please note that this is my PERSONAL opinion only so please no bad comments TL: I was very satisfied with their medical staff and coordinator. I liked their website and they seemed very professional when I contacted them and when I went to the consultation. The doctor was very friendly and answered all my questions. But I personally didn't like their B&A photos as much as the other clinics so TL wasn't the one for me. Wonjin: Huge clinic in Gangnam station, easy to find. The atmosphere of the clinic is very good, with lots of photos of K-Pop Stars and etc. There were a lot of Chinese patients there as well, and they have a international patient center there for only foreign patients. The staff was friendly but I heard some things about Wonjin using shadow doctors and being a factory. I decided to go there and see for myself and I think the reviews are correct. There are sooo many doctors at that clinic I am sure they swap doctors during clinics. It just didn't feel like they will care for me personally, it really did feel like a factory rather than a hospital where they care for your individual needs. They said that if I fast on the day of my consultation, I may be able to receive surgery on the same day. (Which was bizarre for me as I personally think that is a bit over the top, it doesn't really feel like they care for you, its like get the surgery done as quickly as possible and go - kinda like a factory). So I didn't like that about Wonjin so that was a no as well for me. ID: Another huge clinic. The building was impressive and the atmosphere was very luxurious. I went to ID because they were famous for the Korean TV show Let Me In and their results were fantastic! Very famous for facial contouring surgery so I decided to have a consultation with them. I did hear that ID is a factory as well but the consultation went pretty well and the doctor was very professional. I liked their system and everything but then I heard a rumor about a patient dying while getting the facial contouring surgery there, so I got scared so I backed off from there... DA: Last clinic that I went to, as they were famous for their facial contouring surgery. Dr Lee is the director of the clinic who is in charge of facial contouring surgery. Met him during my consultation and he went through the process with me and I was impressed with their B&A photos. They had the look that I wanted and I felt like I could trust them so this is the clinic that I decided to go ahead with. I did read some negative reviews about DA about their staff members and high prices and etc but overall it was a good experience with no negatives about this clinic. I am now 2~3 months after the surgery and I feel very good. The results are looking good so far. I do have a little bit of swelling left still but my jaw line is slim and I got the results that I wanted. If anybody have any questions regarding any of these clinics or surgery, pm me or reply to this thread. Thanks for reading and please bear that in mind that this is my personal review to help those who are thinking of getting facial contouring in Korea and opinions of these clinics can differ in individuals so I recommend that you go to the clinics that you thought of and try it out for yourself.
archonei Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 Hello, thanks for sharing your experience! How are you feeling now? Oh did you also do zygoma? I wanted to ask about dr Lee, is he patient in terms of explaining and answer your questions? How is post-op at DA? Thank you!
lemon90 Posted July 10, 2017 Author Posted July 10, 2017 Hey! I am feeling great at the mo! 3 months in and feeling great I didn't do zygoma.. but I heard DA is famous for facial contouring so zygoma surgery should be good as well. I have no side effects right now which is good news The post op care is good, they have several post-op treatments you can do and it certainly helps with the swelling - they have this machine that shoots lights which helps with swelling. Dr Lee was very nice and friendly. I had a lot of questions and he was very patient with me answering my questions and overall I would say it was a good experience.
lemon90 Posted July 11, 2017 Author Posted July 11, 2017 You are welcome No I didn't go through an agency/concierge company.
bebegiirl_ Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 Hello, I am going to Korea in September 2017 (next month) and am in the same process of finding the perfect clinic. I contacted K-Doctors and DocFinder Korea, they both suggested Banobagi but for some reason I don't like the B&A pictures and I feel that it is very foreigner-based. I am thinking of going with Faceline or MVP or DA. I also plan to get double eyelid revision surgery and hair transplant (to reduce the size of my forehead). How many consultations did you attend and is it easy to book the surgery the day of? Did you go with an agency or did you go by yourself? I am Korean living in Canada but I feel much more comfortable with English. Also I am wondering about your quotes as my quotes were very expensive. I probably need around $30K if I want to do everything. Do you have KAKAO or how can I PM you? (I have never used these threads, I don't know how to PM people). Thank you!
lemon90 Posted August 3, 2017 Author Posted August 3, 2017 Hey there. Sorry for the late reply. I didn't see the alert for a new post. I went to ID, Wonjin and I liked DA for their B&A photos. I can PM you here if you would like. I didn't go through an agency as they lead you to hospitals/clinics that they get higher prices for. Getting around is fine in Korea, as their subway system is really good. Anyways will PM you for more details

lemon90 Posted August 13, 2017 Author Posted August 13, 2017 Hello Fasi. First of all, welcome to the Forum! I had a lot of help from this forum as well. My advice is to do your research thoroughly!! Read what people say about the clinics that you are planning to go to. For example, I heard grand had an accident there and its like a factory. (Should read what they say about grand plastic surgery at this forum, it's mostly bad..) ID is also called a factory and I went there as well, and the hospital is HUGE and it looks very fancy, etc but I heard some pretty bad reviews about them and it did feel like a factory there so I chose to go to DA. If you read my review, I had V-line surgery at DA and their price for v-line surgery was around 14 million won. The prices are high for facial contouring surgeries, but the risks are high as well and you need to go to a clinic/hospital that you feel like you can trust! Credit cards are widely accepted in Korea and you can buy sim cards at the airport if needed. For hotels, it depends on what clinic you choose. You can find out if there are any hotels nearby the clinic that you are planning to go to or ask the hospital for advice. Some hospitals do have pick up service from the airport.
fasi Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 Thanks for ur detailed answer ,Ll deffo contact DA too ,plus I saw let me in show , If they choose models they do surgeries what ever they want ,u r not allowed to tell them that u Desire for ,it's mean they do all the risky experiments on model ? Is it for free ?any idea ?
linh_tran Posted April 19, 2019 Posted April 19, 2019 I did surgery at DA 6 months ago. I do rhinoplasty. After the surgery, i saw my nose was not balance , I told them and they said me : do not worry, just back and wait for the swelling down. If there are any problems, they will fix it again and no fee. They told they will have warranty. For make sure that, I asked them many times that if i will not pay next time. They alway told they sure and keep talking that do no worry. You guys certainly do not want do surgery again, right? No one hope the bad result to do again. But unfortunately I got a bad result that is not my expectation. The nose is still not balanced. I contacted to them and now they talk differently. They refused what they said and do not talk about that, i showed them my status, they said they could fix my nose again with the fee. The issue here is i do not ask them fix a whole nose like New. I just ask them fix the nostrils that they fixed incomplete . And they also told me that i will not pay anymore because they will have résponsibility and warranty , i ask them a paper for proof but they did not. And now they said differently as they did not say anything. I m very disappointed with DA clinic. So just want to share my experience and hope everyone do not like me
