Hi!
I just wanted to get anyone's thoughts on the complications that could arise if someone chooses to do a double jaw or upper jaw surgery after having a previous mandible surgery. I haven't yet had any jaw surgeries but am now questioning if just a lower change is sufficient. I'm going to consult with a maxofacial surgeon here in Canada just for opinions but thought I'd ask around as well
I do have a receded maxilla and worry that two surgeries could mean a loss of bone and joint integrity etc. Thank you!

oh, i dont think you should worry. just DO NOT pack both surgery too close with one another. this means that, if you decide to go for mandible surgery, please wait for your wounds to be fully heal. i would reckon waiting for at least 6months then if you dont like the results u can consider double jaw.

double jaw is a very demanding operation, in the sense that it demands alot from your body. you need to fully recuperate from the previous surgery before you do a double jaw. For myself, i had organic diet and a healthy exercise regime in order to prep myself for this surgery. i just want to play safe from recovery and any sagging concerns.

in the first place, i think 1 surgery is enough for you. dont risk doing 2 surgeries. money is not the issue, its about your health. get good UNBIASED doctorS to analyse your situation, consolidate the feedback and deliberate yourself.
