yumigumi Posted September 15, 2017 Posted September 15, 2017 I've been seeing some people recommend k-doctors.com on a few threads and I was wondering whether or not it is a scam. Is it better than docfinder korea? Can anyone tell me their experiences?
minigenji Posted September 15, 2017 Posted September 15, 2017 I am wondering the same too. Have anyone used k-doctors.com before?
oliviacom Posted October 23, 2017 Posted October 23, 2017 Hello. I was using Docfinder before. And I also found out some new agencies, like you the one you mentioned : k-doctors. I didn’t contact with them before. But if I am you, I will find help from an experienced agency like Docfinder, because nowadays plastic surgery is so popular in Korea. People tried to open new agency but you’d never know their service is good or bad. It will be dangerous to try new thing. And you are gonna have plastic surgery, it’s no jokes!!! You need well-known knowledge agency it is your choice will be so important. And I heard some new agencies even request patients to pay a huge of service fee before you come korea. It would be a risk to do that. So hope you will choose a right choice.
katrinawhy Posted October 23, 2017 Posted October 23, 2017 You know it is way cheaper to do everything yourself, Plus they most likely work with clinic.
bubble2525 Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 I wonder why OliviaCom and k0404 always appeared in every threads randomly and tried to promote docfinder without fail in every of their posts
sophia990 Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 I always wondered that too.. I was looking for info about docfinder and other agencies that do this and they always seem to appear in every single post about them.. Don't know if I can trust their reviews or not.. has anyone actually used their services before?? Are there any price difference?
amy-vidic Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 Hi guys. I've been also looking for some agencies to help me out to have surgery at Korea because it wasn't easy for me to find clinics where they actually provide good results on PS. So I ended up asking alot of questions since I was very nervous about going to Korea and have a surgery. What I was really impressed was that they replied me back like about 12 hours after I sent them an e-mail. I received several clinics ; MVP, Faceline, Banobagi They gave me all the quotes and to be honest I didn't know which where to go so I decided to go to these three clinics and I decided to have surgery at Faceline since I noticed through consultation with doctor; Dr. Lee Jin Soo, that he was a very intelligent and very specialized surgeon in Facial contouring. So I made a decision to have surgery from him and the result was what I have expected. It turned out to be PERFECT!!! It's been 6 months from now and I really like my result and didn't had no side-effects, infections, etc. Anyways, what I'm trying to say is that I think it depends on those who needs help or not. For my case I needed some help for all the process from gathering information, booking, accommodation, etc. so I ended up using K-Doctors to help me assist. I hope you guys can decide regarding what your condition and status are and if need help, I would recommend going with one of these agency and I wouldn't doubt visiting Korea for my PS with K-Doctors again.
wilshireblvd Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 So this lengthy post isn’t going to be about K-Doctors or whatever, but I’m pretty sure the information I’m going to give you will hold true to all the “free medical tourism” agencies. I’m going to Korea in April to have my eyes and nose done. I contacted 3 clinics and DFK at the same time with the same information. All 3 clinics responded faster and with the same suggested procedures, non-incision des with Ptosis Correction. DFK responded a week later with 5 clinics suggesting I get incisional des with much higher quotes. All the rhino suggestions were about the same. I am choosing to go to Korea without the help of an agency and here’s why: Reading through the DFK website makes me laugh a little, their list of “services” really aren’t services at all. I’ve copied the list directly from their website and added why it holds little to no value. A. Provide quotes for all procedures listed - As mentioned above, I contacted 3 different clinics and they all responded with LOWER quotes and a much more thorough consult then the email I received from DFK. B. Assign you a personal DocfinderKorea case manager, so that you are in contact with only one individual from start to finish - This means basically you get a driver / translator for all clinics you wish to consult. However, most clinics have in-house translation services for foreign patients and how hard is it to call a cab? C Retrieve medical records - This can be done at the clinic post procedure, all you need to do is ask for the operation notes. D Provide feedback from your surgeon on your photos and details. - You should receive this feedback during your consultation. E. Provide comprehensive information regarding your surgeon, treatment and hospital. Arrange dates and times for all appointments - All surgeons educational information is usually listed under the staff section of the website. - Arranging appointments for consults is easily done though Kakao, WhatsApp or Line. F Arrange consultations with your surgeon to answer any questions, usually within 24 hours - This is getting repetitive. G. Provide airport pickup to/from your hotel in a private vehicle - The Express train from Incheon Airport to Seoul is $8USD. H. Chauffeur you to all appointments - Once you have chosen a clinic, they most likely have a car service to pick you up and drop you off for all your appointments. I. Assist you with other non-surgical consultations you may have, including beauty and pampering. - The staff at your chosen clinic should be able to recommend beauty and pampering services, if they do not offer their own. J. Answer any questions you may have regarding post-operative care once you return home. - This should all be discussed with your surgeon in detail before you leave the clinic. Now, before you go and say “hey, it’s free, why shouldn’t I use it anyway?” Ask yourself this question. Is it really free? DFK along with the other “free medical tourism” agencies make a commission off of your surgeries. It is a well known fact that prices from clinics are negotiable, but when the price is being negotiated down, who do you think takes a pay cut first, the surgeons or the agency? That’s right, probably the middle man. Why do you think there isn’t one review on this forum which stated that DFK actually helped negotiate a lower price for their client? It’s because they would only be negotiating a lower commission for themselves! I read one review on this site from someone who said that while price negotations were happening, the DFK rep just sat there and watched. Of course they aren’t going to help! Say DFKs commission is 20% of the final surgery price. If you plan to have $10,000 worth of operations, you’re basically paying DFK $2,000 when you could have negotiated it down to $8,000 on your own. Do you really want to spend $2000 on services offered inclusively by your chosen PS clinic? And as for them matching you to the best clinics for the procedures you want.... That is almost laughable considering they are getting paid in commission. They are going to match you to whoever they are getting paid the most from. Look at it this way, if you saw an agency like this in your home country, what would you think? To sum it up, I am going to avoid DFK at all costs (literally). They are nothing but a middle man taking money from naive foreigners who do not speak the native language or who are too lazy to contact clinics / book hotels on their own. BTW any video you see on YouTube mentioning DFK has been sponsored. DFK obviously knows who is giving them a video review and will adjust their service level accordingly to make it seem like they are doing the most. In reality, anyone who is getting free PS and a chauffeur is going to leave a great video review unless they end up with a botched surgery. Do your homework. Something this life changing shouldn’t be easy. You are more interested in your appearance than DFK or any other agency will ever be. Just my .02
jamie82 Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 I've gotten quotes direct and without the agents (before even bargaining). The difference for example is about 1.2m KRW (~$1100 USD thereabouts). Was quoted 5m direct and 6.2m via the agent. So free wasn't exactly free. Its probably worth it for some people who prefer the extra experience and convenience but not so much for someone on a budget willing to make the effort to research or if you already know your way around. I've also heard that Korea's govt only licensed 3 agencies (could be wrong) so if you do go through one of these services, make sure its the legit one.
melly215 Posted February 1, 2018 Posted February 1, 2018 Wait what??? It's absolutely not free and it is rip off foreigners!
jamie82 Posted February 1, 2018 Posted February 1, 2018 I wouldn't think its a rip off considering the pampering over a no frills trip. I wish it were more transparent though since every patient is different..
leelala Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 Would you recommend faceline for acculift? Did you like your experience?
