Hey thank you for sharing your experience, you look great! Where did you travel from to get surgery? Did you have consultations the same timeframe you had surgery? (Only visited Seoul once for instance)

I'll be traveling from Boston but I'm a flight attendant so I can travel there easily and cheaply so I'm wondering

It's definitely daunting to find the right surgeon. I'm also trying to find a rhinoplasty specialist at where the locals go and avoiding huge touristy clinics.

I've had online consultations with MVP, Dream, and Wonjin. Dream said I didn't need rhinoplasty as it wouldn't make a difference and I felt they were a bit rude. I really like the other two clinics but I'm glad you opened my eyes to View!

View is famous with locals, that's what I really liked about their standards compared to other well known clinics (I was being really hipster about it hahah I liked that it wasn't popularly known in the United States but very famous in South Korea.) They cared more about results and satisfaction more than advertising.

I traveled from Atlanta to Seoul alone. It was my first time in Korea but it was a really easy process going from airport to hotel. View Clinic offered a taxi limousine from airport to hotel which eased my anxiety a ton. Im not going to lie, I felt like I was a Kardashian when I was in that car lmao

When I arrived at my hotel it was a Saturday so I was scheduled for the consultation the following Monday. Of course I spoke everything with View through Kakao before entering Korea. But they stated that before surgery I was to talk to the doctors to make sure we were on the same terms of what I wanted, the doctors were to describe the technique they would perform, and I had to be cleared for surgery. On Monday the nurses did the usual blood test, Ct scan, X-ray, etc. and said that if my blood cleared that surgery would happen the next day (Tuesday).

Hahah I had a small nose, nothing was really wrong with it but in my eyes it was "droppy" and I had a little hump. I wanted a "celebrity" nose and Dr. Lee Suk Hyun understood. He showed me what he would do and I loved it. I made sure to mention that I didnt want my nose raised up like a "pig" because have you seen Botched! He said hes not going to raise my nose at all but make the tip straight. And it makes sense. If you get facial contouring done, your face will become smaller and then it would appear that your nose is too big for your face! So that's why I decided to get Rhino also.

Thank you! I cant say for eyelid surgery because I didn't get it done, but I did see their selfie book and the double eyelid results looked natural and symmetrical. I believe they are more on the natural side when it comes to the eyes.

Many forummers have shared that it is typically not an issue to have your F2F consultation and procedure done during one trip, especially when avoiding peak season, which I guess is not a problem being a flight attendant . Useful tip is to schedule your consultation in the beginning of the week so you can have surgery that week and make use of the weekend to recover.

And indeed finding the right surgeon takes a looooot of time! I have been doing this for a while and since you are looking into rhino you can start researching clinics like april31, giring, gng, mvp, oz, the line, view who have relatively more positive than negative reviews for nose procedures. Just make sure to take you time to research thoroughly. Hope this helps.

I believe it was because when I got V line done, the surgeon worked/cut inside my mouth. After surgery my whole mouth was swollen. Inside cheeks, gums, and lips. Nothing was numb though (inside cheeks, tongue, lips). The only thing that was numbs was my gums, top and bottom, where the stitches were.

I liked my pouty swollen lips though! Sucked that my thin lips came back after a week and a half. Hahah Im thinking of going back to View during May or June to get lip enhancement

Glad to hear of another American traveling to Korea for surgery!

Did you take Delta/Korean Air from Atlanta to Seoul?

That definitely makes sense to do rhino to help with overall facial symmetry. I’m happy for you that your surgeries went well and you connected with great surgeons! It’s definitley rolling the dice and taking the risk regardless of where you go.

I look forward to hearing about your recovery and final results!

It definitely is the norm for many traveling for surgery! I was considering flying first in November to scope out local places I wouldn’t be able to discovery in my surgery timeframe for January but November/December is busy for airlines. I’ve been in contact with locals on AirBnB to see if they can recommend local clinics. The answer I get mostly is there’s way too many clinics anywhere you go unfortunately.

Thank you for the tips! Are you having surgery done soon?

I liked MVP, April 31 has been difficult to get in touch with. The number listed for Kakao and WhatsApp are invalid when I try to reach out and their online chat on the website does not generate a response.

Indeed, I believe I read somewhere that there are over 1500 clinics in Seoul area alone, so finding something as the best clinic is rather difficult I guess. But as foreigner I would recommend you to check at least whether your doctor is board certified or not at prs.co.kr. And also (optional) you can check whether a clinic has a license to treat foreigners or not at visitmedicalkorea.com. Both will give you at least some insights that the doctor and clinic are adherent to some standard/practice.

As for me no, don't think I will be doing surgery soon. But I have been to Korea a few times and have researched Korean PS extensively. It actually is strange that MVP and April31 don't get back to you as many forummers shared that they have succesfully contacted them via kakao/whatsapp. Maybe it takes a little more time to respond?

Delta/Korean Air. Flight to Korea was 14 hours, flight back was the same time. Flight going to was enjoyable but flight coming back really pissed me off because I sat next to an a**hole pervert who kept trying to touch me inappropriately "accidentally". Do you mind if I ask you a question? If I would have informed one of the flight attendants would they have let me moved my seat? I literally stayed awake the entire flight because I was too afraid to sleep next to that SOB

So sorry to hear you had to go through that, it must have made that 14 hours seem even longer. You should have definitely asked them if you could move seats, if the flight wasn't full I'm sure they would have accommodated you. BTW was it just arm touching? Given how cramped economy class is, that's not uncommon.

When I mean inappropriate, I meant inappropriate. (I had an aisle seat) and whenever he had to use the restroom, he gave me no warning so I could get up for him, grabbed my thigh to assist himself standing up, then pressed his lower body (His groin facing my direction, I mean who gets out of a seat that way!) into my face as he slided out. Not to mention him falling asleep multiple times and his arm and hand slipping into my lap every time.
I really did want to make a scene, literally when it was the fifth time he grabbed my thigh I wanted to shout but I just kept my mouth shut.

Yikes that's definitely inappropriate. While we're all taught to be nice from the time we were kids, that rule doesn't apply when it comes to people who are trying to take advantage of us, they rely on niceness as they think you'll stay silent. I bet if you said loudly "Can you please stop touching me" he would have immediately stopped with that BS. Definitely speak up next time, creeps like him need to be exposed.
