sophia990 Posted November 16, 2017 Posted November 16, 2017 Hi everyone! For those who have been posting on Eye surgery related threads, you would have seen me lurking around and asking people so many questions regarding DES, canthoplasty, etc. And I am grateful for all forumers who have answered my questions! Thank you all!! I am now in Korea and have undergone ptosis correction I considered a lot of clinics before coming to Korea and have done online consultations with them, and looking up reviews on forums. I decided to do my surgery with DA in the end, as one of my friend has got her eyes and nose done here and her results are fantastic! I don't think they are famous for eyes, like Teium clinic, but I liked my friends results so much, I decided to go for a face to face consult and see what they say. I went to other clinics, Teium, MVP and View as they were mentioned in a lot of reviews on this forum and I wanted to know what they were like before deciding on a clinic. I won't mention in detail how the consultations went at these clinics. They are all famous clinics in Korea (so many patients) and they were overall very friendly and professional. Price wise, Teium is a bit more expensive than other clinics, and they do tend to push you to do epicanthoplasty, even though my eyes (I believe) are big enough already. But for those who are considering epicanthoplasty, I think Teium is really good and if price is not a huge factor, def give them a go! I thought at first that I would need DES as I had no double eyelid line but the doctor mentioned ptosis correction is needed for my case. I heard about ptosis correction but I didn't think it would apply to me lol But the doctor was very calm in listening to my concerns and explaining what he was going to do. (also explaining the diff between des and ptosis correction as I had no clue whatsoever!) On the day of surgery, I was nervous and excited at the same time. I was thinking this is it!! No going back now!! My surgery was booked at 9AM but I went in at 8 to take photos and get changed etc. I saw the doctor before going in and he drew on my eyes and explained to me what he was going to do. Once inside, I was sedated and I remember waking up and went into a recovery room and got ice packs on my eyes. I couldn't really open my eyes due to swelling and I looked myself in the mirror and it was horrible lol After a few hours I went back to my hotel, which was near the clinic and I just slept. Was a bit tired and worn out and my eyes were sausage like, and couldn't open them properly so sleep it is! The next day the swelling got worse and they told me to keep my upper body elevated to reduce swelling. That kinda hurt my back but swelling sucks so I decided to follow the instructions. Bruises appeared and it still exists at the moment. It's been 3 days since my surgery and now swelling seems to be going down! Can't wait to get my stitches removed!! If anyone has any tips on swelling and bruising after surgery, please comment below! Would very much appreciate it!!
kpsa Posted November 17, 2017 Posted November 17, 2017 Congrats, sure that your eyes will turn out great! Just wondering though, didn't DA give you after care instructions? Many forummers here had these from their clinics, but anyhow typical things that helps with deswelling are: - Use cold packs first 4to 5 days then switch to a warm pack - Sleep elevated meaning 45 degrees angle - Vitamin C helps with healing and could be in the form of drinks like pineapple and/or pumpkin juice - Bromelain and sinnech, if you have it are also helpful Though before taking anything, best it to double check with your clinic, just to make sure! Happy healing.
perceval Posted November 17, 2017 Posted November 17, 2017 Hey congrats! I'd be a little nervous about anything having to do with eye surgery, so I'm proud that you had the courage to do this. I wish you happy healing! I heard mango juice also helps with swelling? Correct me if I'm wrong. Walking around a lot also helps. You should ask for advice from the clinic.
kpsa Posted November 17, 2017 Posted November 17, 2017 Indeed forgot that one, walking a lot helps with blood circulation and helps with deswelling
sophia990 Posted November 20, 2017 Author Posted November 20, 2017 Thank you for the info!! DA has provided me with after-care instructions but I thought I would receive some "extra" help on this forum lol
sophia990 Posted November 20, 2017 Author Posted November 20, 2017 Thank you!! Mango juice sounds yummy. Might buy that from the supermarket. I should walk around a lot but its so freaking cold here!! >.< Are you thinking of getting eye surgery as well? I was in the same shoes as you before, I know how you feel! But you won't regret it I am sure!!
perceval Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 I probably do need to have some work done under my eyes since I have a hollowness underneath them. It makes me look tired and depressed. I'm really just looking for some contouring since I look masculine. I'm currently doing research on here to get some ideas on where to go. And yeah, anything with vitamin c helps! Be sure to layer up when walking outside. You don't have to be outside when walking around, maybe walk within halls of the hotel you're staying in?
kpsa Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 Sure, hope the tips helps And I know Dec is really freezing in Seoul. I remeber when I was there the 1st week was really nice and then it suddenly became really cold with the wind. But do walk a lot as it keeps you warm and helps with deswelling. Who knows maybe the cold even helps to shrink the swelling
sophia990 Posted November 23, 2017 Author Posted November 23, 2017 It snowed in Seoul!! It was kinda amazing to watch from inside lol (outside its freezing brrrrrr) So I am 1 week post op now! I still have bruising and swelling around my eyes but I now have double eyelids yay! lol Just wanted to share my pics with you as I am super excited on how its going to turn out! Regarding the bruising, does anyone know how long they will last till? I know it varies from people, and I do try to go out and walk as much as possible despite the cold weather for the bruising and swelling to go down, but any tips would be great!
mn31515 Posted November 23, 2017 Posted November 23, 2017 Hey girl, my bruising lasted about 2.5 weeks from DES via incision and ptosis correction. I used ice packs diligently and consumed pineapple and pumpkin juice/soup as well. I also walked about 4-5 miles everyday. I hear you can apply an arnica cream to help with bruising, just take care when applying. Glad it went well!
mikaelaa Posted November 23, 2017 Posted November 23, 2017 Hello everybody, I would like to share with you my extraordinary experience i had in Korea after undergoing for brow and forehead lifting in DA clinic which i strongly recommend because of the skillfull doctors, professional personnel and care they show for their patients. I am 37 years old i've been waiting to get this done for as long as i remember. My heavy eyebrows, specially the left one was hereditary and it become more severe with aging process to an extent that the eyebrows were quite asymmetrical, therefore when i consulted with plastic surgeons they suggested i should get this done for a better result (ranging from ptosis repair even the wrinkles on the forehead as additional benefit). The asymmetry of my eyebrows was the goal and the heaviness on the left side that give my appearance a tired look is what made me do lot of research on line as well asked all my friends for the best plastic surgery clinic before i decided to come to DA all the way from Europe in Romania where wee have lots of plastic surgery clinics as well. Doctor Choi Min-seok. is a specialist in eye surgery and did a great job after examinating me,he explained what can be done and what to expect after the procedure. Emily, the consultant was caring, humble and genuine being present every time with me before the surgery and post surgery offering me lots of information, assistance and always keeping updated about my condition. I couldn't be more luckier to have such professional people around me specifically that i went to Korea by myself and i was worried and nervous about the entire process. Before i undergo the surgery, blood tests were taken, blood pressure along with complete investigations. The surgery took one hour and recovery time was approximately one week being able to travel after 4 days, the swelling went down because of after care treatment DA clinic provided and bruises healed completely in 10 days. I am now 11 days post surgery and i can already see great results even though the final result will be completely noticed close to 6 months after the surgery. So far i am very happy with the results and had amazing experience not just with the surgery but with the staff at the clinic and in the city. I am definitely returning to DA for another procedure as fat grafting under eyes in 6 months. My advice to all is to choose the best surgeons as DA specialists whenever you decide to do any plastic surgery and pursue your goals (not suffering the consequences if something go wrong). Good luck, beauty and health to all !!!
mn31515 Posted November 23, 2017 Posted November 23, 2017 Thank you for the detailed review! Can you tell me what method the doctor used for your brow lift? Sub brow, lateral, or endotine? Glad you're satisfied!
sophia990 Posted November 23, 2017 Author Posted November 23, 2017 It's so good to see someone else satisfied with their results as well Thanks for the detailed review! Hope your results turn out great!
mikaelaa Posted November 24, 2017 Posted November 24, 2017 Thank you,the method doctor Choi Min-seok. used was endotine.
