before (1).JPG before (2).JPG 3months later jawsurgery (2).jpg after surgery (1).jpg after surgery (2).jpg KakaoTalk_20171215_153644020.jpg Actually this wasn’t the first time. Strictly speaking, this was a revision surgery. The first surgery was done in my country, Kazakhstan, and the second one was done in Korea.

As you can see on the photo, I had a remarkable facial asymmetry, so I was not confident about my appearance. Furthermore, I had difficulty chewing things due to the abnormal teeth and jaw.

After failing the first surgery, I was deeply concerned about the second one.
Finally, I decided to search for a systematic and credible clinic outside my country.

YouTube and reviews and interview videos on this Purseblog helped me a lot in choosing this clinic. Dr. Lee Joong-kyou was kinder and explained more in detail than I expected. He explained about my current state, processes before and after the surgery, and expected problems, too.

Since the surgery wasn’t done in my country, I got consulted through e-mails and messengers. I sent my local medical treatment record, and CT materials through e-mail, and Dr. Lee Joong-kyou consulted me online.

Choosing a doctor whom I never met and flying to a country which I never visited was really risky, but my choice was right. But, because of my condition, I couldn’t get the surgery as soon as I arrived in Korea.

Honestly, I have a very bad condition to undergo surgery: I have type 1 diabetes. Diet management is always so important to me, so dietary cure before and after the surgery was a big worry to me.

I sent my local medical treatment record about my diabetes to The Face Dental Clinic, and got additional tests in two university hospitals in Korea. I was worried because I’ve been told I could not even start the surgery according to the test result, but since I know orthognathic surgery is very difficult, I was relieved to have rigorous tests like these.

And finally, I succeeded to have surgery.
It was an indescribable feeling. I felt as if I was reborn!
Due to the failure in my first surgery, my expectaion and worries were high. Since I knew Dr. Lee Joong-kyou, I’ve dreamed of my hoped-for appearance everyday thinking soon I will not waste my valuable time worrying about my twisted jaw.

I could endure the time after having orthognathic surgery: of course, it was difficult to eat, sleep and speak properly , but it wasn’t a big problem to me. I still can remember the moment when I first saw my face wrapped in bandages in a mirror. I nearly cried. My jaw was in the right place! I could definitely see it even though I had bandages around my face.

I stayed for about 3 weeks after the surgery in Korea and went back home. Dr. Lee Joong-kyou is kind and professional enough to check my current state through e-mail and messenger even until now. And of course, he doesn’t forget to inform me of dos and don’ts. I had severe malocclusion so I have to wear braces and remove surgical pins. No doubt, I am prettier but there remains some surgeries.

Surgical pin removal can be done in my country, but I surely want to do it with Dr. Lee Joong-kyou.

Hey @ZHULDYZ, thank you for your review and congrats on the amazing result! I actually have a very similar condition that you had and it's very exciting for me to find hope from results like yours. If you don't mind, I was hoping you could answer a few questions about your experience? From my research, it seems like braces need to be worn to adjust teeth position before surgery. Was that something you did or did you start wearing braces after the surgery? Also did your orthdontist at your home country work with your plastic surgeon? I understand that you sent CT scans to Dr. Lee, it sounds like you guys had extensive consultation done via email, was he happy to co-operate with you on that? Thanks for any advice you can provide!

You look great! Absolutely beautiful.
I had a similar surgery 18 months ago and totally understand your pre-surgery worries. Healing will continue for many months so good luck with your recovery.

Thank you so much for sharing! You look beautiful and I am so glad you had the right care for you! I have slight malocclusion (my bit is a little off and my left side of my face is bigger than my right side) and am looking for different ways I can approach correction. I do not know if I should undergo orthonagthic surgery as it is a bigger surgery or just facial contour to correct? What are your opinions?
