Hi TPF’ers !

I want to thank everyone on this forum for their reviews. It’s helped me immensely with my research and subsequent decision on which clinic to go. I ended up getting non- incisional double eyelid surgery & ptosis correction at GNG. Here’s my review — I hope that it’ll help some of you that are still in the research phase of your plastic surgery journey!

During my research I found MISOODA.com, which is sort of like a Groupon for Korean plastic surgery. They post a bunch of promos prices with different clinics for various procedures. I reached out to Missooda and provided my pics from several angles and they reached out to GNG for me. To my delight, they managed to negotiate and secure the promo pricing for me which was a shockingly good price (When I went to GNG, the consultant told me that the price is pretty close to what one would pay as an employee there). After looking into other clinics, and thinking about it, I decided to go through MISOODA. Overall I really liked how they weren’t pushy at all and had a representative (Wei) be my point of contact in Seoul. She checked up on me before/after the surgery via text and was 100% happy to help with negotiations for my ptosis procedure (it was an additional procedure recommended by the surgeon).

Fast forward a couple of months —On my consultation day, I met with one of their translators Julia, who’s so pretty and sweet. Her positive attitude and support helped through the anxiety I was feeling. She helped translate Dr Park’s surgical plan for my eyes and provided insight on what the healing process would be like. After the consultation, I went through a battery of tests - blood/ scans/ ekgs etc. One really nice touch was that Julia arranged for a taxi to take me to and from the clinic in addition to arranging a taxi to pick me up & drop me off at the airport.

The next day I had my surgery. I met with Dr Park and Julia pre-op to review the changes to be made. Then I proceeded to the operating room where Dr. Park did the final design for my eyes. He asked me to open and close my eyelids to observe where my natural eyelid fold fell, and drew on my lid what needed to be done to correct that. Once he was satisfied with the design, I was given a sedative and painkillers via IV. Julia was right there with me in the O.R. and took my mind off the surgery with some boy talk haha. I really appreciated this, since at this point I was super nervous!

At some point, the sedative kicked in and all I can remember was having a bizarre dream about navigating a spaceship. Midway through the surgery I remember Dr. Park asking me to open and close my eyes - to see if the correction looks natural. And then I magically I woke up in my hospital room with a huge ice mask on my face. Not sure how I got there lol.

My mouth was dry AF and so I hit the buzzer several times and a very nice nurse gave me bottles of water. Eventually, I took the ice mask off and tried to open my eyes. OMG my eyes were watering like crazy, I was sensitive to the light, and had a killer headache. But besides that, no real pain. Julia came to my room, provided me with a bag full of post-surgery goodies - medication, gauze pads, hot/cold eye mask, surgical masks, and pumpkin juice. She got my kakaotalk id and told me to contact her if I had any questions/concerns.

3 days post-op, I went back to GNG for the removal of the one stitch I had on each eyelid. They took some pics to share with Dr.Park and I got an LED treatment (I think that’s what it was) for deswelling. I would have like to see Dr.Park again during this checkup, but he was in surgery  . I had some major swelling going on and felt like there was something in one of my eyes. Although the nurse looked at it, I would have been more reassured if Dr.Park was there.

I’m now 2 weeks post-op. I’m still pretty early in my healing process and my eyes are quite swollen — very much like sausages haha. I’m hopeful that my eyes will look good once the swelling resolves. PSA: According the consultant, the deswelling process will take 2-3 months. So don’t do this procedure before a big event.

Overall I had an excellent experience with GNG and would definitely not hesitate to go there again for other cosmetic procedures. Let me know if you guys have any questions. I'd be happy to help! (I know how stressful the research phase is)

Please share pics! I'm vey curious about Dr. Park's work at GNG since I planned to do ptosis correction with Dr. Kye but I was told he had left GNG and Dr. Park was recommended to me.

Hope you have a speedy recovery ^^
