hellobby Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 Hello! I've created this thread because I'm hoping to do my double-eyelid surgery in Feb 2018! Only a couple of weeks away.... I will be doing it in Daegu, South Korea because that's where I live and didn't want to travel to Seoul and back for recovery alone. Also, a Korean local friend will be going with me to the consultations and I didn't want to drag her up to Seoul haha. Daegu might be lesser known but it's also a medical tourist destination! I've had an online consultation with a medical tourism agent a few months ago and I've been recommended for incision ptosis correction. I will be going to three clinics for face-to-face consultation in Daegu on Feb 10. Will keep you updated as I go to through the consultations! Until the consultation, my friend recommended me to bring some pictures of what I'd like. I'm hoping for a brighter and bigger, but natural, look. Hopefully something like the other two pictures, maybe? What do you guys think of them? ^^
sora_v Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 Hi, the eyelids look pretty and natural in the photos, maybe you should confirm with doctor about how long they will last though.
Wondermuffin Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 I reckon if you really want them to be round and big, you could consider adding lateral cathoplasty, bicanthoplasty as well.
hellobby Posted January 31, 2018 Author Posted January 31, 2018 Thank you for your suggestion! I didn't think about that, so I'll definitely ask during my consultation next weekend. Thank you! I'll suggest it to the doctors. My friend said the top of my eyes are a bit more straight than round so she has told me it might require a bit more work for me to receive the rounder eyes so I may need to do those lol.
hellobby Posted January 31, 2018 Author Posted January 31, 2018 Update Feb 1: Consultations have been booked for the following three clinics! S Leaders Plastic Surgery Joseph Plastic Surgery Clinic Global Oblige Plastic Surgery During consultation, do they photoshop my picture so I can see what the possible results would be? lol
Wondermuffin Posted February 1, 2018 Posted February 1, 2018 Super excited for you. Let us know more as time passes!
hellobby Posted February 1, 2018 Author Posted February 1, 2018 Thank you! I will definitely do so! I'll post again on Feb 10 after my consultation haha.
sora_v Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 I had no experience so can't offer any help, but good luck with everything! I heard eyelid surgery is only a minor procedure and since Korea has such a good reputation in the field I guess you don't have to worry much
Wondermuffin Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 Did you consider picking more “foreigner” well known clinics like gng, mvp or view?
hellobby Posted February 4, 2018 Author Posted February 4, 2018 Haha thank you! Believing that it's a minor procedure definitely helps calm me down a bit! I have considered them, especially GNG because I'm interested in doing rhinoplasty in the future. However, I thought since I'm just doing DES and a lot of my local friends have recommended these clinics, I figured it was safe to just do it in my city. If I lived in Seoul, I 100% would have gone for one of those clinics for DES though!
rubyng Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 How about Line clinic? They gave me very good price 2000$ for buried suture DES + medial canthoplasty? Are they good? I hesitate between banobagi 3500$ and Line 2000$ ☠️. It's so big differnce and i dont want to risk my eyes. If Line is not enough good, i will go to banobagi even they are expensive
hellobby Posted February 6, 2018 Author Posted February 6, 2018 I think it's better if you ask in other threads because I have no idea about Banobagi and Line since I'm not considering them at all. Good luck~
missy_sana Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 Hi @hellobby Good luck to you! May I ask, is it cheaper to do Incision Ptosis surgery in Daegu? Because it was hard for me to find a Daegu clinic that has a website with English language (maybe I was looking in the wrong places!). Thanks in advance!
hellobby Posted February 8, 2018 Author Posted February 8, 2018 Thanks @missy_sana ! I'm actually not sure if it'll be cheaper than Seoul clinics; we'll find out tomorrow! It's just already slightly cheaper for me because I live in Daegu so I don't need to pay for transportation and accommodation haha. Do you live in Korea too? The first two clinics I mentioned have an English page though; maybe you wanna check them out!
