hoeeekage Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 Hey everybody! So as of right now I am for certain that I will get rhinoplasty done, but the only problem is I don't know if I should get it done in America or Korea. I was wondering if anybody had any information about any places in Korea that know how to work with western noses and how much the price goes for? Below I have attached some photos of my nose for reference. Please don't tell me I don't need surgery, the pictures look a lot more flattering than in real life for some reason. The areas that I want to deal with are a slight hump (which is barely visible in the photograph for some reason), alar base reduction, and something about my bulbous/projecting tip. I basically want a more feminine, and smaller version of my nose now. Sorry about the obnoxious emojis btw!!
perceval Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 I know a good doctor in the U.S. that can do your nose! He's Dr. Donald B. Yoo in Beverly Hills. He's pretty expensive though, about like 15,000-16,000 dollars to start I believe? Probably won't be a good idea if you aren't able to afford it, but he was on my list before I decided that I should get mine done by GNG hospital in South Korea after learning that they can do Caucasian noses. I think rhinoplasty from GNG starts off at like $4,815? I read that from here (csolare's post #1195): #
hoeeekage Posted February 5, 2018 Author Posted February 5, 2018 D: yes that is too expensive! I want to stay under $7000, hopefully around 5 or 6. I've been hearing about GnG too and I'm also considering other surgeries there too so that's my #1 choice right now! There is one rhinoplasty doctor Michael Elam who lives in Cali and he has a special deal for everything at $7000, so everything entails all the different aspects you want to fix, and he's also highly rated on Real Self. I would only consider a nose job in South Korea if they can produce similar results for at least $1500 cheaper !
kc_134 Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 Is there something you don't like about your nose? I personally feel like it's so beautiful already!
hoeeekage Posted February 6, 2018 Author Posted February 6, 2018 Thank you so much for replying! ^~^ Yeah I don't mind the height either, I just want it to be smooth ya know? Or at least straight, because the bump makes it looks well bumpy especially from certain angles. I also have a bulbous tip but I don't want to get a pointy tip like Koreans tend to go for, I kinda just want a flatter or less prominent tip if that makes sense. What did your tip refinement consist of? Also do you mind telling me where you got yours done? I'm considering GnG as I said earlier but I didn't see much western noses on there but they seem to have consistent results!
hoeeekage Posted February 6, 2018 Author Posted February 6, 2018 You are too sweet! I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I just think my nose is too big for my other small features and it's a bit crooked and uneven!
kc_134 Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 I see, I totally understand! I see my eyes as uneven and needing of a fix but everyone else thinks I'm crazy and doesn't notice it. I guess we notice more flaws on ourselves because we stare at ourselves in the mirror more often!
rease003 Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 I agree with kkpoebee. Koreans and Americans still have the same concerns when it comes to their noses: deviation, bulbous/blunt tip, hump removal, etc. The surgeons perform much more frequently than surgeons in the states, in my personal opinion I believe you’re giving yourself the best chance by getting rhinoplasty done in Korea. I’m from America and had rhinoplasty and fat graphing done on January 20th (16 days post op) and I’m already extremely happy with how my nose looks. I had a caudal septal deviation (notoriously difficult issue to fix) and I couldn’t find a doctor I was comfortable with in the states so I traveled to South Korea.
p-joann14 Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 i think gng hospital is the best for rhinoplasty since they are an ENT hospital that specializes in revision and reconstruction
hoeeekage Posted February 13, 2018 Author Posted February 13, 2018 Thanks for sharing your experience! I feel like they do address a lot of the same concerns, I just want to make sure it doesn't turn into a very fake looking nose ya know? A lot of these Koreans have strange Barbie looking noses and that's not the look I'm going for. But maybe it's different because I won't be getting fillers or cartilage since my nose is already high? And another concern I have is that I do have a bulbous tip but I also don't want a completely pointy nose either, I basically just want a smaller version or softer version of my nose now if that makes sense. I don't even know if that's possible but can they control the degree of which they correct the bulbous tip? Either way, your input has definitely has swayed me even more to doing my rhinoplasty in South Korea, if all works out, I may even go this summer!
hoeeekage Posted February 13, 2018 Author Posted February 13, 2018 I also agree! This is definitely the clinic I have my eyes on!
rozebud Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 Hi ! I'm interesting in doing a rhinoplasty too and I have the same concern as yours. My nose has a hump that I wish to remove and by the same time, I would like to make my nose slightly shorter but in a natural way ; I don't want the tip to go up like the barbie noses we can notice on some Korean girls. I have a friend who had a nose surgery in GNG and is very satisfied with the result but she's asian so I'm looking for a caucasian who had any experience with a rhinoplasty in Seoul .
sheonlylooks25 Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 Do your research. Search PF for all the real ppl who are unhappy with their GNG noses, and in particular with what Dr Hong did to them and his attitude afterwards towards them when they complained. I love what they did for Valory Pierce but she’s a celebrity blogger and they took extra care of her.
